Companys like tencent and netease would just buy themselves a right to publish their "Chinese edition" and completely turn them into those p2w games like 吃鸡，王者荣耀etc. Imagine having a minecraft that only allows to get mods, textures servers from the "official site" . We can't get access to any popular stuff from outside China. And if we do it's most likely to be a copycat version. Chypixel is the only server that grab Chinese gamers attention at the time. Because of the restrictions of using proxy and VPN on the Hypixel, the only way that we can get a fluent experience is to play Chypixel. As the video mentioned :Chypixel is flooded with hackers. And the Chypixel update is really delayed. Almost everyone has lost their interest in Chypixel. So afterwards Hypixel found that Chypixel is doing zero revenue for a long time. They knew that netease screwed up. Then the developers from Hypixel left Chypixel and left the management to a group of "volunteers" Imagine having "volunteers"to manage this huge mess. So after all. This failure already declared :" CHINESE EDITION" for games like minecraft WON'T WORK for Chinese gamers. As a Chinese mainlander, I gotta say most of this video is correct and well said. Not so much for the part about online gaming though. Animal crossing was never banned in mainland China. Only streaming it was banned, you can still upload videos about it. And the international version of hypixel is also accessible without restrictions, though you'll need a vpn to reduce latency if you want to play games like skywars.
So this was in my recommendations and I'm very surprised to be mentioned in it ! Thank you ! For the story a friend told me about Chypixel when it came out and I just wanted to try even though I would not play regularly because I live in Europe. I managed to create an account and play by using text recognition translator on my phone but it didn't take too long. I was surprised that nobody did a tutorial on how to join the server so I decided to make a video ! Hope it didn't help hackers to ruin the server but I don't think it had a great impact :)
As a Chinese, I want to say something about Chypixel. I started playing Chypixel in October 2017.I was a noob, but there were few hackers. But the number of hackers became more and more in 2018, and the anticheat was really useless. Only a few hackers got banned and they could buy another account for only little money again easily to hack in the server. At the same time, lots of players got banned but they didn't hack at all, such as me. I got banned three times during that period.That made me hate this server. Honestly, I got lots of fun in Chypixel, but the server and some of its players have made this server itself kind of annoying.
The server itself is pretty interesting seeing how similar it is to hypixel, ranks, guilds, capes, and the design differences in the lobbies. After the announcement of the server shutting, the amount of hackers has been increasing and culminating in what seems a sad end for a very successful server
R.I.P our sister server, you will be remembered... Oh, well... these things happen! Lets just get back to waiting for Hypixel Hytale edition to come out
From what I know, one reason of the Chypixel server closing might have been because the Chinese version of minecraft have been facing a lot of problems, especially recently. for example there have been some reports of child abuse and harassment on places such as servers and maps from the acts of bad individuals, so net-ease has removed functions such as text and writing in books, other problems have also lead to some tweaks in some other functions. That all around has received a lot of backlash from creators and players. But in general the Chinese version of minecraft has never been accepted as well as the original version by many minecrafters from China.
Actually while I was in China for two years I played a lot of Hypixel China. Sad to see it end. I made a lot of friends; I was confused as to why there were so many Chinese players on the main server. I guess this explains it. But you should know that Hypixel main server is indeed accessible in Mainland China, I played it along with Hypixel China, but there’s no incentive to play it because Minecraft: Chinese Edition is completely free whereas Minecraft: Java Edition is still $26.95. I still play Minecraft China Edition on my phone because I’m not paying $7 for bedrock edition lol (Fun fact: I volunteered as a translator for Hypixel NetEase, I recommend anyone who is bilingual to try translating! It’s fun)

Although all the RUclipsrs spoke Chinese, and there were a ton of hackers, overall, it felt similar. The closing of this server is truly sad for me, because this is where I began playing Minecraft.

From what I know, one reason of the Chypixel server closing might have been because the Chinese version of minecraft have been facing a lot of problems, especially recently. for example there have been some reports of child abuse and harassment on places such as servers and maps from the acts of bad individuals, so net-ease has removed functions such as text and writing in books, other problems have also lead to some tweaks in some other functions. That all around has received a lot of backlash from creators and players. But in general the Chinese version of minecraft has never been accepted as well as the original version by many minecrafters from China.
To all Chinese players. Get a VPN and play regular Hypixel illegally.
Their ping will be extremely terrible though.
I live in Jordan and my ping is 150-180ms so China will be 300-400ms

Actually while I was in China for two years I played a lot of Hypixel China. Sad to see it end. I made a lot of friends; I was confused as to why there were so many Chinese players on the main server. I guess this explains it. But you should know that Hypixel main server is indeed accessible in Mainland China, I played it along with Hypixel China, but there’s no incentive to play it because Minecraft: Chinese Edition is completely free whereas Minecraft: Java Edition is still $26.95. I still play Minecraft China Edition on my phone because I’m not paying $7 for bedrock edition lol
(Fun fact: I volunteered as a translator for Hypixel NetEase, I recommend anyone who is bilingual to try translating! It’s fun)
Bedwars are actually originated from China, and when bedwars were added to Hypixel, many Chinese players were actually pretty mad

I remember downloading Chinese Minecraft years ago since the full version of Minecraft was paid. I would play Chypixel, and everything was so similar. Although all the RUclipsrs spoke Chinese, and there were a ton of hackers, overall, it felt similar. The closing of this server is truly sad for me, because this is where I began playing Minecraft.
as a Chinese, I would have to say the great fire wall isn't really that enforced. have been using a vpn for 3+years now, never been caught tho...
Be careful about what you post and do online then, especially your name, because that could easily be used to track you or your family down

I solemnly value freedom to access information and also freedom of speech because I was born in Venezuela and moved to the USA 2 years ago, so I know what an oppressive regime that blocks access to information can be like. However Venezuela is pathetic compared to China in this matter. Because unlike Venezuela, China has expanded it's efforts to technology by a great deal. I like to see Chinese citizens using VPN to seek freedom of information and speech online. That is why I want to make sure you stay safe when using it, since if you are somehow are caught, depending on what you have said or seen online using it, your entire families and yourself could be endangered. Not only that, but remember that some people in the international web are known to purposefully get Chinese VPN users caught when they get mad at them for whatever reason, even something as stupid as having a different opinion or losing an online game. These people are disgusting and childish, but sadly, they exist. So tread safe, and try to not leave any links to your real identity and as long as you do that you will never be able to be tracked back from your VPN.

ik it's been long since the video uploads, but i still would like to clarify some facts:
1.the CCP DIDN'T ban any server across the globe in china, but only some games thats considered unhealthy or harmful to us, such as reactionary and porn stuffs, u k, its never easy to keep a large country safe and stable, there r always some one trying to ruin our harmony and teach wrong facts on global servers, so we ban these games that spread dangerous opinion. As a chinese student, I sincerely welcome nice global games and servers,as long as it aims at gaming instead of politics, and thats definitly legal in china, btw check out the Steam China, almost the same with global one, but without porn stuffs.

As far as I know, I have the Bedrock version for Windows 10, so I cannot even access Hypixel any time soon, unless I try to get a computer with abilities to use the latest version of Java possible.
