A friend gave me hers tonight, that she bought in China. She was never able to make a sound with it and saw I enjoy trying different instruments. I also am not proficient in any one instrument, but have fun with the challenge of learning them. Keep smiling!
I bought one exactly the same and call it my egg😅 it took me forever to even get some kind of sound out of it, but I got there 😂🤣 I read somewhere they used to be used in imperial courts, to play laments for fallen warriors. There is a xun player in RUclips xun wuxin , if anyone is interested. I really like the history behind musical instruments too, there are a lot of non standard instruments, from all over the world, that produce amazing sounds. Molly, keep showing us these great finds!
Hé Molly, that so fun to hear you about the Xun. I recieved one as a gift, last year when I order my first tongue drum, but I thought that was decoration (no to play , juste look at). I will ttry to play the Xun now.. LOL Sorry my english is poor. Sonia from France
Thank you so much for showcasing the xun! I've loved it ever since I first saw and heard it in Totoro (When Totoro, Mei and Setsuki are in the treetops) and did some research as to what it could be that they were playing.
I stumbled upon this channel by pure chance, I am so glad I found it because your smile is so genuine I can feel it in my soul. And I totally agree that everyone should enjoy music! You definitely do inspire with your videos ❤
My gran in HK just sent me one of these. I'm very glad yours was the first video i found on it. Your happiness and laughter is beautiful. Thank you for sharing. :)
Thank you very much for this unboxing and review. I bought one of these to replace a xun which won't hit high notes. I'm looking forward to playing it.
I just learnt about this instrument and felt excited watching your unboxing :) . Imperial City Ocarina has made a dragon themed Xun which I'm really wanting to buy.
Hello, my first xun arrived yesterday. When ordering, I chose the G key. I thought I will get a low G(Sol) , but with all the holes closed, the sound is re (D) Soo i don't understand - is it a mistake of xun maker or i dont know much about xuns? Then what should be the letter on the Xun so that with all the holes closed there would be the sound of low G ?

I can see that you are so excited when you received this parcel, that you cannot stop smiling. Love to watch
With practice that could sound wonderfully peaceful.
It does and sounds deeply sad .

Yeah if I could time travel, the thing I would want to do the most is watch people thousands of years ago make music together/someone alone

You are absolutely amazing! Such a charming personality 🥰
Thank you! I love it 🤩❤️
have you ever heard of another instrument called a Gemshorn?
very nice, but you should have gone all out and order a 10 finger xun flute, more notes, more keys.

so the xuns of amazon are goods instruments?
I can’t play an instrument but I’ve just ordered one & I’m going to give it a try. If I fail it will make a nice ornament.😜
How can i get one
@@abriblack8870 Do a Google search like I did, Amazon sell them but I don’t like lining Jeff Bezoz’s pockets.
Are the holes small? I got a ceramic ocarina and the holes are too big for me to cover. I’ve been wanting a xun.
Cool! :-)
I’m in love with u wow
What the best key for my first one?
How can i get one i'm from Ethiopia
