I remember those games that needed you to perfectly time a token to go through a hole like there was this Simpsons machine where you try to roll the token into a hole that's blocked by a bunch of characters and moving stuff. Good times. 🐸

I have like 2 or maybe 3 no more than 12 but keeping em because of the fact that idk if they may be worth a lot in the future but for more of also nostalgia... plus I do not expect they would be usable now... oh man hecj I might even still have the older like 2011 ish era chucke for life soda cups ie free soda every time ya go heck man thatd be awesome for one more time to go back just to have a soda or a cold one and even see if they got the mariokart or especially skeeball... hehe there was even one titled dunk an alien.... but yeah man that and also this sonic spinner, a spongebob game, a pacman game, and even a haunted mansion? Stop the spinner thing...oh and man I feel so old for early if not the first memory of chuck e cheese ai recall tube tv sets where a thing in the restaurant ... omg how did and where does time go.
@op hehe no worry man I was alsp a scrooge kid because of how I said the ice cream vending machine took the tokens but didnt dispense anything... for 3 or four times at a single time of going... by telling different employees and no joke the machine didnt even take token only real money... probably for keeping kids like me from blowing em all on snacks heheheh... but ueah man oh an toddlers would forget to merely collect said tokens put into the macjine by retrieving from change slot so id go an find more than just that for free tokens... for id also use a ruler to slide under the skee ball macjhines for avoiding running out of tokens cause the mom would have a mere policiy when I had no more tokens it would be time to leave etc... but yeah so id merely use free tokens from under the machines hehehehe and even got free tickets from under there heck man the fun things a child can do but looking back prolly should not have maybe in certain scenarios heheh or things that as an adult we know more often are likely awful but yeah hehe

I remember the tokens. I wish they still had them because most arcades mainly use cards and not tokens and it would be unique if they still had them.

If you look at it as a a chuck e cheese employee perspective the card is a good idea cause imahine having to do stuff just to get s token out because someone using a machine wasn't working.
@SODACOLORADO as a person who actually works at Chuck e cheese, I can assure you that even with the change they still get the cards stuck in the machines all the time
@@fierysun4943 I'm sorry if it's different for you but at my place the thing only scans the cards, I didn't know there were other types.
I grew up using them. There is one of those coin pusher games that still uses them . I kept four of them from it and they're awesome.
EDIT: I found a bag of old tokens at a sale the other day for 10$ they're super cool

Fun fact check E Cheese's now getting rid of all the animatronics shows and replacing them with cheap dance floors say goodbye to all your favorite memories there as it will no longer be any popular as it was before with the animatronic characters around
BRO, I remember going into a chuck,e cheese and I didn't really care for the food (I would like to hear someone say they actually liked the food) but I remember just wanting to play the games. I got excited and was looking for the token dispenser. When I couldn't find it my sister handed me the card and I asked "what is this a gift card." She then explained to me that this is what you use play the games now. I and the first thing I said was this "Well shit now I can't use these." And pulled my pocket full of token's. I would steal them and I thought they still used them.

They also used to have tickets but you can just use a card and a machine and go up to a prize center and get your prize with no cup of tokens OR tickets

Ugh I can feel my childhood crying for Chuck E cheese to come back 😭 worlds definition of out with the old, in with the new. I feel so old and sad to see them all go but I'm truly glad to experience them in my childhood, I remember going there for my birthday there untill I turned 12 years old, my 12th bday was my last with Chuck E cheese's and I'd say it was worth a visit with all my bdays there lol yes my mom was very annoyed when I told her where I want my bday at but we were all happy and enjoyed the fun
I miss using the tokens they were my childhood and I adored going there and hearing the sound of the machine go as I placed a token in there, good memories 😔

(CEC Game room attendant) They do still work on some of the games. They haven’t got rid of all of them Smokin-Token-Extreme and rolling 20’s still have them.
(Fun-fact: Operation still has tickets, they’re just inside the game not being used.)

I have a couple of pill bottles full of the tokens. I also have a Dairy Queen cardboard token redeemable for a free Daily bar, cone or other certain treats. I showed it to an employee last year and they had never seen one before.

i grew up with tokens, but i do like how the cards work, you pay for time and its a lot less to carry, but i do miss the tokens...and the animatronics
I used to steal them as free souvenirs as a kid. I think a lot of kids were doing that, so I guess I can see why they got phased out

If you guys love Fnaf might want to listen to this, Chuck E Cheese has been a pizza place with animatronics, one time I remember i took pictures next to the animatronics as a kid and it gave me the chills..
As a person that currently works there we still actually use the tokens not for most games but some games like coin pushers or other game that require coins to play you need to swipe ur card to get a coin when u get the coin all u gotta do is just use it in the coin slot that the machine may have its only some machines tho not most. Other then those few games we don’t really use them for much we just store them in buckets inside arcade machines or in rooms in case those machines run out of coins cuz some kids be taking em. SO YES you can still get them and YES they will work on some machines

I like the tokens much better because there was not time limit and you had time to choose what game you could play next.
The worst part is that the tokens let you play way more games than you can with the card
just buy the play time for 45 minutes its a great deal (i do it everytime because I love CEC and I love playing games at CEC)
good news: so when your cards time runs out, there was an arcade machine I saw which you could get tokens at so if you scanned the card before your time ran out you could get coins that help you play extra games with it even if your time runs out.
I love the tokens I wish you would bring them back it was fun treating it with other kids for prizes and tickets

Some locations have coin pusher games where you tap your card and a token comes out. I'd suggest calling your nearest locations to see if they have one.
the only way to be able to use them is if your lucky enough to find a chuck e cheese with games that take both the play pass and tokens

At my Chuck E Cheeses there's a SpongeBob arcade game where after u scanned it It gave you a old token which was cool. It was made by Sega or something.

Some machines require coins as a mechanic in the game so when you swipe your card it will give you coins so you can play

I did get caught though and i had to leave but they gave me another slice of cake, lucky me lol

You realize they can still work. It's a bit odd though basically. Some games require tokens like coin pushers like on my Chuck E cheese so basically you tap the card and you get a token it doesn't even. Have to be a recent one. It could be one from back in the nineties so if you put that token in a machine that is like a coin pusher or 1 that had a. Coinch law yeah you could use it

I remember them, I always used at least 1 or 2 to play twice on the alley roller game when I was six or seven years old. I also keep a token inside of a small case from 2016.
The tokens were the FUN element, and the ticket dispense... Now the machine counts up if its counting out tickets, but nothing happening.

Actually, some machines still have token slots. But the card scanner is in different places. You can see them by the label saying "TOKEN IN HERE, []"

Ur location actually went under something called Conecpt Unification back in the 90's or sum, and when u stood infront of Jasper, he actually replaced a character from a band called the RAE named Beach Bear. Pasqually used to be Dook LaRue, Helen was Mitzi, Mr. Munch was Fatz Geronimo and Chuck used to be Rolfe DeWolfez and in his right hand was a puppet named Earl.
