Side note the antenna array on the Ferromex unit is not actually PTC its the standard antennas that the units were built on the ACE's it also makes these units incapable of leading in the US
Another thing to know about Ferromex engines, they cannot lead a freight train in the U.S. bc they don’t got PTC like other trains for example BNSF has PTC
Very nice looking model, although it’s a shame Athearn didn’t include details like the window guards featured on Mexican locomotives, like Scaletrains do. That being said, they usually take them off when these units venture north of the border, so I suppose it’s more accurate for a Ferromex unit running in the US. It would be nice to have a removable set though.

I do believe that newer Mexican engines have security cameras on each side of the cab to watch for theft of diesel fuel.
