- Enjoy the monsoon rain like never before here inside a fort which is 800 years old built during Keladi rulers of Karnataka. A must visit Kavaledurga Fort near Thirthahalli, Shivamogga is a hidden gem in the western Ghats Forest of Karnataka.
Kavaledurga Fort trek requires atleast 4 hours and a hike of 2-3 km one side.
Mild to moderate difficulty level and truely a heaven to visit during monsoon rain.
Distance: 78 km from Shimoga
18 km from Thirthahalli and Masthikatte
Time: Sunrise to Sunset (Till 5 pm)

A great place. It was very nice to see you all enjoying the Monsoon rains. Kavaledurga is on my bucketlist since many years.
I had visited Kundadri Hills sbout 10 years back.
You both are very lucky to stay in shimoga, as you can see many beautiful locations around shimoga.
