I came here because of my interest in time lapses and macro photography, but I was not ready for a spectacular art film narrated with poetry. Magnificent work.
HOW ARE THERE ONLY 17 COMMENTS AND 183 likes?! This piece of cinematography backed and delivered by such poetic finesse deserves a freaking award. I am flabbergasted this has not received more notoriety with publicly celebrated, down right deserved, high marks. This is stunning. I am so very blessed to have been able to enjoy this treat. BRAVO!
Bravo! Joel Penner!! What beautyfull, detailed, imaginative, colourfull animation with such a wild assortment of fantastic photos to play with!! Superb film everyone! I hope this film is shown in our primary and secondary schools - inspire inquisitive Canadian children. For me, the philosophical aspect of the narrative reflects what those who wish for after they’ve died- let their bodies become compost. Pure compost. No box. No embalming fluids. Just as Nature intended. I would do that. Organs for those who need a replacement. Body for Nature. Or Science, eg: a forensic corpse farm.
As a long time lover and curator of films on fungi, I would call this the finest contribution to mycological cinema of the decade so far.
It’s really impressive! Time lapses are no joke.
Genuinely changed my perspective on decay, something that should cause disgust causes me to lean in with fascination. What art! Encore!
This is Such a hidden gem. I'm so glad I found this.
agreed! Am quite glad I found it too :3
Such a beautiful and abstract Doc. Bravo.
The makers of this film and Hozier should collaborate!

Thanks a lot, really appreciate it! 😀
Not exactly what I imagined you'd be doing with my tax dollars, but I weirdly like it, keep going.
Agreed.
Joel Penner sculpts with Nature.
