- Today I’m making up some amazing patty melts a delicious beef patty smothered in a delicious sauce sautéed onions in between two slices of crispy rye bread just as we all remember from Kmart it’s truly a delicious patty melt and I hope you give it a try you’ll be glad you did😋

What you will be needing
Sauce
1/3 c. Mayonnaise
1 tablespoon ketchup
2 teaspoons sweet pickle relish
2 teaspoons very fine minced onion
1 pound ground chuck
Salt
1 large onion thinly sliced
2 tablespoons real sweet cream butter I use
6 to 8 slices rye bread
6 to 8 slices deli sliced Swiss cheese sliced thin
6 to 8 slices Rye seedless bread
Swet cream butter for the bread
Serve with some crispy fries or chips and a dill pickle spear and enjoy!
Makes 3 to 4 patty melts

Oh YES!!! Loved going to K-Mart for Patty Melts!! One of my favorite meals back then! The counter at Woolworths had the best cheeseburgers & fries too! Miss those days...

That looks so delicious. And I do remember the Patty melts from Kmart. And the little round Submarine sandwiches, and ice cream sandwiches LOL that was 40 years ago. But they were delicious. Oh, that must taste great, and I love a good patty melt. About 45 years ago, there was a little place in my town called 'Steak 'n' Egg' - their patty melt was so good!

I was too little to remember the patty melt but I remember their cafe in the store. I used to get their slurpee. And we used to mix out pop their cuz they let you fill your own cup. K Mart was an awesome store.

I’m from Louisville, Kentucky. Our Kmart didn’t use Swiss cheese but sharp cheddar and white American cheese and they were the best damn things ever. This was way way way before they put disgusting little Cesars in Kmart. I make them them all the time for my family we love them! It’s a weekly meal in our house. I make fried taters and onions In bacon grease, and fried okra for our sides . Sooo delicious.

Try it with cheddar cheese and sourdough bread. Same way just change the bread and cheese. Its very good! And perfect to switch between the two.♥️

Nothing is mixed into the meat, just salt your hamburger patty on top of the patty❤️
If somebody is complaining about the amount of onions in your patty melt tell them they aren't getting one.

Yes,I very well know hence I said it's Like a Reuben made instead with a burger instead of corned beef . And onions instead of kraut. Or did you know a Rachel is made with corned beef or pastrami and coleslaw
