    why do you have 2 different coffee grinders? the first and second one.

    • @jojosespresso9264
      @jojosespresso9264  3 года назад +1

      We have 3 total on the trailer. First one is the Curtis Gourmet coffee grinder. That one is used to grind coffee for drip, pour overs, and cold brew. The one next to the espresso machine is my main espresso grinder. The third grinder is a small espresso grinder for when I want to use a different espresso. Like right now I have bourbon barrel aged beans in the small one.

      @@jojosespresso9264 what's the point in having 3 different grinders? I saw the first one has options with espresso, drip, and cold brew so why have a separate espresso grinder? Just wondering

      @@paulm4176 We keep our espresso blend in our main grinder at all times. The gourmet coffee grinder is used to grind drip coffee and coffee beans to make cold brew. The small grinder was used for our bourbon espresso beans. Each grinder basically has specific coffee and specific settings

    What would you consider low volume for a coffee shop? I'm trying to setup a trailer for drive through only and am wondering if a 1 group like this would be fine.

    • @jojosespresso9264
      @jojosespresso9264  3 года назад +1

      Hey Jeremy, so for now, I am only open about 10-12 hours a week. So a one group head machine is suffice for my hours of operation. Going forward we will be doubling our hours and I do believe the one group head machine will still do the job since I’ll be doing 4-5 hour shifts per day. I have been thinking of actually getting a two group machine that’s actually less expensive than my one group machine. La Marzocco is the top when it comes to espresso machines so I had to pay top dollar just get the one I have now. However, there are other great and less expensive machines out there such as the Rocket Boxer which I may be looking into getting. You can get a two group Rocket Boxer for around $6,500.

    Do you have to have an agreement with a commissary? Our local Health Dept wants this for stand alone coffee trailers. I don’t really want to do that.

    • @jojosespresso9264

      I think you’d be fine with a 2.5 gallon! We really only use hot water to wash our hands and to clean supplies. Which doesn’t take a ton of water in the first place

    Hey bro thank you so much, you are such an inspiration... My wife and I are also in the middle of having our trailer built and I'm having some questions about what generator to pruchase, since we have a two group espresso machine and don't want something to loud! Do you still operate your coffee truck with a one group espresso machine or did you upgrade to a two groups? If you did upgrade to a two groups what type of generator are you using? I'm humbling thanking you...

    • @jojosespresso9264
      @jojosespresso9264  2 года назад +1

      Thanks for the kind words! So we still operate with a one group machine. We desperately need a 2 group. But with doing that requires a couple of generators that run 220v. And we don’t want a super loud and heavy generator to do that. The only way to go for us would be to purchase two Honda inverter generators that are about $5k each. And the 2 group machine we’d want would be around $11k. So it’s quite the investment! But overall, everything we have right now is working great. We just have our super busy days where the one group machine can take a beating.

      @@jojosespresso9264 that sounds amazing so happy for you guys, I'm a huge fan of yours and follow you on everything, I'm in Florida, you guys doing definitely amazing, thanks for all the tips and a good amount of things are very helpful to me and we are using it for our business model as well. We started in December with a tent all because Covid affected my carrier, so we decided to use the last of our funds to invest into this business, on the tent we have a one group and for sure we feel the pain lol, but all good, so going with the trailer we want to take things to the next level so I'm really trying to do my best to also not spend 5K yet, on the generator, like the Honda but there's ways to bring the noise down the box etc, from my research! I guess we have to figure that out, thank you so much for getting back to me, truly appreciate you, and your time, keep on going. You guys are an inspiration to me, btw we are also waiting on our 2nd baby. GOD bless you, your family and your business 🙏🏽

    Hey mate,
    I like your generator set setup.
    Now that you've been running it for a while how would you rate it
    Do you have any thoughts on how you would approach it differently if you did it again? Would you try for a single larger unit?
    Cheers!

    • @jojosespresso9264
      @jojosespresso9264  2 года назад +2

      Hey David, we had one generator go down due to an electrical issue on the generator itself. That happened last summer so I had to scramble to buy another replacement generator. I did however fix the issue on the broken one and now that gives me a backup generator in case the issue happens again. I can’t tell you why that happened but other than that… these generators have been amazing. Their noise level is great and I highly recommend these to anyone opening a coffee truck or trailer.
