That team was bananas Warner (Top 25 QB of all time) Faulk (Top 5 RB of all time) Bruce (Top 10 WR of all time) Holt (Top 50 WR of all time) Az Zahir Rahim,Phroel and Murphy all good WRs
Actually... Bruce is number five on the all time receiving list and what a lot of people don’t realize about him... He had his best seasons BEFORE the Greatest Show on Turf. He had a 120 reception like 1,780 yard season in like 95 or 96. Which is also fifth on the list for a single season record. Fifth on the list for career, fifth on the list for single season... He may in fact be a top ten receiver. Although nowadays a lot of people probably actually consider Holt the better receiver. Although Bruce is in the Hall and Holt isn’t. Holt will get in though. I know the greatest show on turf is all about the "skill positions," but it is definitely worth mentioning that Rams team's left tackle, Orlando Pace. That dude was a monster and locked down Warner's blind side.
I lived in the St. Louis area during that time, and I had been a Rams fan since I was a "little kid", so it was great to see them on a regular basis, on the news, etc. What a great show they put on.
i love that Marshall Faulk going to the Rams, a team that didn't meet any criteria he gave to his agent and after being spurned by the Colts - he continued his march to the HOF. he inspired me to continue being the best i could be when my accomplishments went unnoticed by my bosses and so-called "superiors."
I’m a Colts fan, but the ownership has a bad habit of not giving their star players credit or the proper help. All of the amazing players they’ve had that never got credit for how amazing they were, was always due to lack of a decent O line.
@AmirKhan, right, and when he did the Clots made it to the playoffs every year. I’m not talking about Peyton. I was more referring to people like Andrew Luck or Marshal Faulk.
Kurt Warner was very blessed with an all star offense and coaching staff.. he had such a plentiful and lethal squad offensively. Kurt was definately in the right place at the right time for him to be such a success and essentially a Cinderella story in the NFL
This almost sounds like a back handed compliment lol Kurt was blessed with the right pieces around him and coaches who knew how to use them, but Kurt definitely was the lead guy in that offense. No way IMO they would have reached there peak with Trent Green or Marc Bulger running that offense. Lets also remember Kurt not only taking a cinderella Cardinals to the SB, but he was a last minute Ben Rothlisberger drive from winning a SB with a completely different team and offense. Kurt was that guy.
I will never forget this moment and this team, from Kurt Warner to Vermeil and all team, their victory in the championship XXXIV in the most enjoyable game I have ever watched for them and the Rams. The greatest show on turf and on earth.
I was at that Rams-49ers game. 9 years old me in my Jerry Rice jersey with my dad and grandpa hoping to see a good 49ers victory, or at least a close game. Instead we were early witnesses to the Greatest Show on Turf and a 42-20 slaughter that seemed even worse. Still my only NFL game in person.
Well, you had good taste in that Jerry Rice jersey, anyway. Rice, along with Walter Payton, was the best football player EVER. And both left with the most career TDs. I got to watch Walter when I moved to NE Chicago in the mid-1970s. I never saw Jerry play in person, but damn! what a great receiver! He set the standard. Walter's highlights on RUclips are enough to make a grown man smile. Jerry, I laugh just thinking of how great he was.
That throw Warner to Bruce against the Vikings is one of my favorite throws ever. Extremely high degree of difficulty, no margin for error. He put some power into that throw, he didn't loft it. It had to be perfect. Hit Bruce absolutely in stride.
i was living abroad when the Rams blew up. we had to avoid news and watch replays of games. I remember watching them play under Warner for the first time and i have still never seen a team play that fast.
I remember hating when my favorite team played them. So many incredible weapons. Marshall Faulk is still one of my favorite RBs I've had the pleasure to watch.
Marshall Faulk needs to be in that conversation when you talk about the greatest running backs of all time same with Curtis Martin Faulk was lowkey like Alvin kamara today
i do honestly believe that Faulk was the ultimate. ... do not know about his blocking. Jim Kiick - perhaps should be in the hall-of-fame. well, perhaps more appropriately if Czonka and Kiick were put in together. Likewise, i never say " Larry" without " Magic".
I remember in the winter of 2015, the 1st yr. Kurt was eligible for the Hall of Fame, he was rejected. I told a friend , " That man was a two - time MVP! One ring, three conference championships, I don't know how many pro bowls." He did get his due in 2017, but should have been first- ballot!
Pro Bowl selections, just like NBA All-Star ones, are a joke and have no business being used to define a player's legacy. Use All-Pro honors instead. They actually mean something.
The 99 Rams have to be one of the greatest turnarounds in sports. And Super Bowl 36 was so strange. A Potential dynasty gives way a new one. Kurt Warner was one of the great underdog stories and is usurped by another incredible underdog story by Tom Brady.
Pats didn't but refs were on there side in 2001 cause 1 the stupid tick rule which made no sense and 2 refs didn't call obvious penalties on the pats defense and 3 9/11 happened that yr so nfls rigging was already established for the pats to win the superbowl cause of 9/11 pats being the symbol of America patriots bs a moniker for the nfl.
@@Tainopisno1 what? Look, if you wanna say the Pat's were recording St. Louis practices I'll concede that. But don't act like there was some 9/11 conspiracy because they were named the Patriots. Nobody thought of them as some American representative team. They were primarily a joke of an organization before Parcells and Belicheck. The Yankees are closer to what you describe (also, an actual New York team) and they got beat by Arizona in the World series so there was no "conspiracy". Plus the Patriots have proven since that SB it wasn't a fluke. Abd what's more, they won multiple SBs by the skin of there teeth. It's just there style

In the early 2000s, my dad and I went to Macomb, Illinois and watched the Rams practice there. I was fortunate enough to get a picture with Kurt Warner 😊 still have that picture at home, great memories!
As an Eagles fan, The Greatest Show on Turf ruined my life. I was 10 years old when we lost to the Rams in the NFC championship in 2001. We were a wildcard team!
After the Rams won the NFC in 1999-2000, my dad, who had not been much of a football fan till that year, died suddenly. And he didn't get to see the Rams win it. When the Rams stopped the guy on the 1-yard-line, I looked to the heavens and asked my dad if he had anything to do with that stop. Kurt Warner and that team let my dad go up there happy, though. There were hundreds of thrills for him, and he died happy.
I own a NFL released DVD set of the two playoff games against the Vikings and the Bucs and of Superbowl XXXIV. The DVD's are of the FULL games ( the entire broadcasts just with commercials removed ). Getting to see every play really shows you how good they were in a way highlights alone cannot.
Amazing that their HOF tackle isn’t mentioned a hare’s breath until the very end when his name is literally just that; mentioned a hare’s breath. Pace was an integral component in unlocking that whole circus of yards and points.

@OldSchoolMuzik I mean really this documentary shows you that it wasn't the defense, Patriots 01 win was extremely lucky with the Tuck rule and how the Rams played a bad game and still almost beat them. Then you have the voodoo in New Orleans. Seems like they lost because other teams were lucky.
@@davidlafleche1142 We actually don't know for certain that the '01 SB was played fair and square. We do know that their defense was the reason they won. We also know that if not for a bullshit interpretation of the Tuck rule, they would not have been in the SB in the first place.
@@bubufubu Yes, it was fair. The Patriots were victims of the Tuck Rule, too. And that bogus "roughing" penalty threw that playoff game to the Raiders in 1976, so there.

Vermeil should’ve never left the team after that Super Bowl year. They would’ve won all 3 years he was at the helm, since martz would be allowed to do what he does best, coordinate elite offenses. Damn bro I literally can't stop crying when I watch this there will never be a team like this again ever proud to be a ram 4life
When Kurt said “ today a dynasty is born “ he had no idea how right he was. It just wasn’t the team he thought it was going to be
That was Ricky Proehl
I was looking for this comment. That wasn't Kurt though.
That comment is literally all over the video we get it.
What an eclectic group of highly skilled players along with an insane coaching scheme.
This makes me excited to see that new Kurt Warner movie coming out.
Definitely one of the most underrated QBs all time dude went from bagging groceries to throwing dimes
@Michael Jurek American Underdog. Should be out in December.
I was absolutely proud when they won the super bowl that year being from the city it made me extremely proud to be a st.louis guy I would love to see them bring another football team to st. Louis 😁💯👍🤘
That team was bananas
Warner (Top 25 QB of all time)
Faulk (Top 5 RB of all time)
Bruce (Top 10 WR of all time)
Holt (Top 50 WR of all time)
Az Zahir Rahim,Phroel and Murphy all good WRs
One of the best Offensive Lines of all time as well
Bruce top 10? I don’t know about that. With you on everything else.
Anyway, Bruce is also 13th in career receptions and 12 in career reception tds. He’s at least a top 15 all time receiver based on stats... 100%
Orlando Pace top 5 LT

Started watching football in 3rd grade rams became my fav team instantly. Then thst first year of watching they went to the super bowl against the Titans and got me even more into football with one of the most exciting super bowls ever.
Love Michael Ironside with the narration.
You mean Sam Fisher from Splinter Cell
The Rams were the 1980s San Diego Chargers, with a super bowl ring.
@@alikhat1647Peyton had good offensive lines led by Jeff Saturday and Tarik Glenn and great receivers!
What if Peyton, Aaron, or Maholmes had this squad?
It came when John elway and Barry sanders retired
The most dangerous offense I ever witnessed. RIP St. Louis Rams...1995-2015.
This is why this story was just made into a movie. Soooooooo good.
Reminds me of the matt Stafford story goes from a team who never won a Superbowl gets traded to a winning team and wins the Superbowl
History repeats itself

I will never forget this moment and this team, from Kurt Warner to Vermeil and all team, their victory in the championship XXXIV in the most enjoyable game I have ever watched for them and the Rams. The greatest show on turf and on earth.
This team & the early 00's Colts were the most exciting offensive teams to watch in the NFL by far
No 2007 Patriots?
2004 Colts and 2013, both led by Peyton!
@@ravens52raylewis87 that was the best offense I ever seen on
@@ravens52raylewis87 Overrated offense. These Rams, the '89 49ers, '98 Vikings, and '13 Broncos were all better.
@@goddybandzz You should do some research then.
Did you spray stick-um on your Jerry Rice jersey like he use to?
As a Steeler fan this is the greatest offense I've ever seen and I've been watching football since the 70's.
Greatest memories. Still hurts losing SB36. Even though I tell everyone I made peace with it. …. I haven’t.
i was living abroad when the Rams blew up. we had to avoid news and watch replays of games.
@@jakebuchsbaum3348 way better than kamara look at his run vs the browns no blocks pure shiftyness
i do honestly believe that Faulk was the ultimate. ... do not know about his blocking. Jim Kiick - perhaps should be in the hall-of-fame. well, perhaps more appropriately if Czonka and Kiick were put in together. Likewise, i never say " Larry" without " Magic".
22:48 you know the offense is clicking when 2 players can have a conversation while scoring a touchdown. Much respect from a bills fan!

They had to give Willie Roaf his due, he retired in 05 and it was past time. 2015 was a competitive year for HOF

Always and forever. Pats cheated! Yeah I said it.
As an Eagles fan, The Greatest Show on Turf ruined my life. I was 10 years old when we lost to the Rams in the NFC championship in 2001. We were a wildcard team!
They had a great team Warner and his offense players and defense were on fire.
Catch by Isaac Bruce in the Super Bowl against Denard Walker with the Tennessee Titans gives me the chills every time I see that
“AND THEY WONT CATCH HIM TODAY TOUCHDOWN RAMS”-Mike Bush
Amazing that their HOF tackle isn’t mentioned a hare’s breath until the very end when his name is literally just that; mentioned a hare’s breath.
Pace was an integral component in unlocking that whole circus of yards and points.

I saw the Rams play at San Francisco and the offense was fun to watch. Specially live where you saw the whole field and you saw the wide receivers get open and Warner fire the ball to them.
Kurt Warner is a top notch human being and one of the best QB’s to ever play the game. I’m glad he got a 2nd chance to show his talent.
I wish he and his teams won against New England and Pittsburgh.
Had a couple plays gone differently, Warner would’ve had three rings now.

One of the greatest Super Bowls that I’ve ever witnessed.
The NFL does it the best when telling stories of passed teams and players.
Now we need one of these on 2007. Giants got revenge on the Pats for the Rams.
Being from MO I watched these guys practice one time when i was young, they got me into football. Sad to see the team go back to LA however i do believe they belong there but its awesome seeing how loyal these guys are to STL. Holt and Faulk were at the blues championship parade. Although the chiefs are kind of the state’s team, STL should get a franchise back
I’m glad they’re back in LA. Never should’ve left. Evil GF should never have been the owner.
I just saw the American Underdog Movie and I already knew about Kurt Warner he was in the field in the first superbowl I ever watched, Super Bowl 43. Understanding everything Kurt went through makes this more special.

I am no where near Christian ... but wow, Kurt's faith-trained comportment in life makes one think about going to church. The way he treated his wife and stepson ... dulling her worry and being rock solid in the face of doubt (in uniform as well) ... when a day comes that such sacrifice and commitment is considered the epitome of manliness, humanity is saved.
