I am absolutely laughing at this horrible assessment of the game. This was an even game of football. Liverpool's quality, game experience and defending showed and won the game. Chelsea did not actually do much apart from the goal. Liverpool pretty much had Chelsea in the palm of their hands. As for saying Liverpool sat back, i don't agree with that. They let Chelsea have the ball when needed otherwise Liverpool pretty much controlled Chelsea and nullified them to half chances.
Steve, think about what you are saying, Chelsea manager said he was coming to attach but Liverpool decided to play the counter attach, and they won the game, Chelsea were naive attaching Liverpool allowing Liverpool to counter attach, Liverpool showed their experience and showed Chelsea what they need to do to win the PS
The fact that it’s the first game since international break with most Latin American players jet lagged and some players haven’t fully recovered, this is a great 3pts. This sit back talk is making it seem like Liverpool will play like that from now on. BS. It was just the type of game we faced not being 100%. So we adapted, and adaptation made us Liverpool more defensive. Simple
My god Steve Nicol is a legend but omg he is so miserable and so negative all the time lol Yes we weren't at our best and definitely could have done better at times. We have never looked this structurally solid aside from maybe the 19-20 season where we won. Chelsea came all guns blazing and yet hardly created any clear cut chance or Kelleher wasn't forced to do anything spectacular. If this is not a great performance against a tough team I don't know what is🤦
cant understand these pundits..it was a close game with very few chances at both side, as both team are very good…if both teams played as good as they can, and they did, there’s no clear runaway winner… what matters most is the 3 points in this kind of game..and the fact that liverpool doesnt need a 95th minute winner is great to see, yes chelsea had some half chances in final few minutes, massive block by robbo right at the death…but overall, chelsea attack was very much nullified, it was a split second reaction from Konate to run just a bit too early, otherwise Jackson goal would’ve been called offside..I’m impressed with Liverpool game rather than disappointed, props to them for limiting Chelsea attack…as the saying goes, Goals win you games; defense win you titles…surprised the pundits dont emphasize on that today

Simple
shock horror, the negative diansour isn't impressed with his former club, again
My god Steve Nicol is a legend but omg he is so miserable and so negative all the time lol Yes we weren't at our best and definitely could have done better at times. But playing after international break can be tough and Chelsea look a top team now. But I agree we definitely will need to up our game against arsenal for sure
Stevie is never impressed with Liverpool. YNWA
I feel like a lot of pundits and people do not understand the concepts of the competition. However good you play doesn’t mean you deserve to win or lose
I knew if we could make Madueke and Cole Palmer cold, it's game over for Chelsea. So surprised nobody talked about the red card Tosin Adarabioyo got away with. If it can be proven that it was a yellow card, then Saliba's red card should be overturned with apologies. Also Salah not getting the hype he deserves is a concern.
Stevie I do agree with you as a Liverpool fan. Liverpool wasn't impressive vs chelsea
He’s right, he played for the greatest Liverpool team ever and he knows what it takes. A laboured result against a patchwork team.
under Klopp we had so many games like this where we try to rush at the other team and make mistakes and it ends with a draw
we looked more settled today and held our defense and WON
and yet Stevie still cries. get this guy off our games pls
Liverpool last season were awful in terms of conversion. Even Luton were better. If they'd been slightly better (middle of the pack) league outcome would have been much different.
This season they're a lot more clinical and look much more organized at the back
yet Stevie chooses to cry. how exhausting
So Chelsea the best attacking team in the league so far, were taken seriously and defeated at home, yet Stevie is not happy. We could've played the back and forth and had our backline exposed and most likely lose today.
BTW, who is this Stevie guy? Been a Liverpool fan since the Souness days. Never heard of him
you can criticize him for a lot of things
but can’t ask “who’s this guy?”. he was a great player for us
It was a good win but not a great performance. We will take that.
Chelsea just lacked chance creation today with Palmer not having a good game... They had everything else in today's game, and did really well to recover from the soft penalty.
Stevie doesn't understand Slots tactics--they controlled Cole Palmer, gave Chelsea possession, and were calm in managing the game. Maybe not eyecatching football, but limited Chelsea.
This idea that you can/have to demolish every team, every week to make these pundits happy, it's totally insane?
Different line up than normal bound to have some glitches.
Still got the 3 pts
Unfortunate city didn’t drop points today! That would have been great
At least analyze the tactics stevie!
Liverpool were the better team overallbut I thought Liverpool looked a bit sluggish and grew into the game. It almost felt like Chelsea ignited a energy response from Liverpool that they had to match otherwise they wld have been swarmed by the Chelsea attack
Steve, please stop been so negative about Liverpool 8 wins out of 9, 10 wins from 11 games in all comps, i bet you would be loving this from Klopp
Stevie forgets our best players on the ball, Macallister and Diaz didn’t start the game. You don’t know expect Gakpo or Jones to keep the ball as the other 2
We've not impressed all season really. But we're getting results and sit top of the league. Hopefully better to come. We're still transitioning from Klopp to Slot.
As a Liverpool fan, this was one of our worst performances!! The team isn’t exciting anymore!
Where was cole
I can't believe these guys were professional footballers.
Chelsea need a keeper. (Diogo Costa would be nice for them. Two center backs (Ale Bastoni would be a nice addition)
Sign Costa, Bastoni and Araujo. Win the league
I'm with Stevie, if we can't be confident, take the game to the opposition at Anfield then where are we v. the major teams in Europe.
When under Klopp,people were complaining we are too open and can't keep a clean sheet or lead etc;
Now we are better in defence, people are complaining we are too conservative at home.
Problem is that we are leading against Chelsea,we try to control the game.
If we were losing or drawing during the game,Slot will change his tactics!
Imagine being Stevie Nicol's wife. You'd get a lecture from dawn till dusk. He probably drones on in his sleep. Put this man out to pasture.
Slot played a chest game he knew Chelsea are strong on counter attack so the gave up possession and they played on the counter and took away Chelsea strength
Cole was missing because of the Jones
Cole palmer doesn't like to play against liverpool, it's the only big six team in Epl yet to score a goal
I don't care about performance the result is all that matters, that's why we lost some titles by one point because as good as klopp was he wasn't a tactician and he was naive about his tactics so Steve for me I'll take this all day long
I don't know this guy Stevie, how many shots on goal?
If you’re reading this I hope you achieve all your goals this week 💪
Liverpool have given up 3 goals in ten matches. Don’t pay any attention to the hot air from mainly Stevie and the panel. Liverpool have a good coach. Stevie will always be miserable!
What Ale said....Is why Pep sold Palmer
Seems easy to nullify him.
Cole Palmer was missing because Jones had him shut down.
What game did you all see?
Il vero mistero dell'età adulta è la frequenza con cui si devono cambiare le lenzuola🔥
Who cares how we played. We were calm, steady n patient which resulted in all 3points. Period.
Having possession and shots means nothing when you barely have any shots on goal and don't create anything. 🙄🙄🙄. These pundits kill me.
The crowd called that penalty on colwill and should have been a penalty on the sancho one. Macallister should have been sent off. very lucky to not get a first yellow before the one he got. Liverpool were lucky today
What about a red card for Chelshit😊
Id rather have 4 defenders stop8ng any attsck, than lesving van dijk on his own at the back... forcing players to run themselves ragged and getting injured.
They didn't keep the ball well, but they won.
Gravenberch pocketed palmer
1:44 YES Stevie, get used to a NEW Liverpool. this isn’t Klopp’s Liverpool so please wake up and get used to it. everyday it’s another reason for him to cry about something ffs
Steve needs to tell the world when he and his panels will be impressed. We don't need you guys to be impressed. We need the 3 points. Game by game, we need the 3 points. We don't need to impress anyone. Stay with the team that will impress you and lose.
