love the spirit of sharing footy from different camera setups while on a quest for the best vx substitute
thanks! this is by far the best alternative i have found! You can film in the same position you would if your were on vx so there is no transition back and forth to hd and vx mentality. Now they feel close enough in terms how i am holding the camera. Sound and colors still havent matched vx yet

@@segatronmedia I acually have 2 VX mics. just in case one get's destroyed.:P I will never go back any other microphone. (I have tried 5 different ones in total)
My g your setup is fire, trust me. There's only one 4:3 HD video I know with that quality and vig, and it's the Converse CONS in Lisbon by Grey SkateMag. You really got me into trying the gh4 + meike 3.5, please post more. Love from Brasil

Oh yes I have to share this, the price is too high for a lot of other lenses and yet this is what we are going for, I have not found one thing I do not like about this lens to be honest! Especially for the price!
Bro I literally just commented like 30 mins ago and now im seriously debating on buying this lens hahaha. It looks so good! Your content is dope. Ive always wanted a vx and my current setup (nikon d3200/Opteka 6.5) feels super outdated in a sense of quality. I use to film on my iphone with the DeathLens and ive always loved that vx feel. Thanks for sharing an alternative for Panasonic users! Im feeling spicy, but my wallet thinks otherwise lol. I don't mind eating ramen for a week lol.

Can you show me sample only in HD crooped to vignette like in this video ???
This was filmed in 4 by 3 anamorphic 4K mode on the gh4. So all I had to do was edit in a 4 by 3 timeline, zoom the footage to 110% to make the vignette a little smaller and export. For IGTV i had to export to 16 by 9 because they would not let me upload in 4 by 3 over a minute long. In 16 by 9 mode the Vignette would be similar. If you want to get 4 b 3 FROM 16 by 9 footage you can edit in a 16:9 timeline and put 4:3 mask or Jpeg image over it and adjust the video to get your look just right.

i wanna see more 4:3 footy possibly in the streets? see if that vig sharpens up even more at lower apertures. i already convinced the homie ape to get this lens but am fiending for more footy :)
I will def post it in the streets. I could see the vig looking different with light peaking through it but lets be honestly this thing is pretty amazing and for the price HOLY SHIT. Makes me so glad I never got the 8 to 15 with the adapter! I think this lens on the GH5 would be even better than this especially in 4k 60P. but 1080P 60 4 by 3 on this is banger and so is 4K anamorphic mode (this video is $K anamorphic mode) i love how it doesnt pre squeeze the footage in 4:3 mode! It also makes a perfect BROLL for a vx video

@@JoinTheDots NIce and yeah it so affordable you can barely consider it a risk, which is amazing because we will be risking this thing a lot! Good thing its cheap! As for the VX yeah I agree but they will for at least another decade with proper care and tape hoarding, you never know an amazing piece of tech could be developed for it (a digital tape haha)) if the love is kept alive! But if the that doesnt happen the GH4 will surely outlast it hahahaha!!

Dude, can you upload 16:9 footage? Preferably 1080p so it shows the least amount of crop on GH4. Thanks in advance.
It comes out as a full cirlce vig, you have to zoom to at least 135 percent but its still pretty good I filmed some tonight. Always gotta be careful when filming 16 by 9 because its easier to cut off the top and the bottom.
4K mode is def the way to go with 16 by 9 on the GH4. I have a few friends who just got the lens for the gh5 so expect to see more clips from this lens soon! Could become the new industry standard haaha
As far as apsc cameras do you know anything that would come close to this after being cropped at 4:3? I’ve found a 4mm fisheye, 5.8mm fisheye, and 6.5mm fisheye all for apsc. Any help would be awesome🙏🏼

Yes, but in 4k there is really no noticeable loss in quality, hell even in 1080 looks good to me, as much as I want to film more in 1080 60 on this i just dont like seeing that tiny circle, it makes me feel like im going to fuck up, but I filmed this edit in 1080 ruclips.net/video/09tjyTOpdS4/видео.html this is cropped in a lot, and I could of made it 4:3 but people wanted to see what the 16:9 looks like on this lens too

You can either make a 4:3 HD timeline or get some 4:3 bars in 16:9 format and place them on top. Make sure adjust the size of the clip to your preference in either of the settings
Did u have to stretch or enlarge the footy when u cropped to 4:3 in post? Just wondering cause u know the fish is like a straight circle on most cameras
no stretch just enlarge to fit the space and make the vig what ever size you want
