      Out of interest zero or sync? Gauge/tension? And what do you feel the improvement is? More spin? Tension maintenance? Would maybe expect less feel? Cheers

    •  3 месяца назад

      @@macattack78 16g on both mains and crosses and zero on the crosses. With the 18/20 string pattern with the head speed pro the launch angle can be low. Having a shaped string helps with the launch angle. But a full bed of restring zero was too unpredictable with the launch angle and it also felt too lively. So I put Tour bite on the mains. For me I felt the tour bite mellowed out the restring zero and lowered the launch angle and made it more predictable.

The control is phenomenal, spin through the roof, and has all the power you could ever need. Tried RPM Rough Red at same tension, was too launchy and dead feeling. I think you need to add the String Gauge (16/16L/17/18) into the equation as well, as it could be stiffer once you go up the gauge, and vice versa. Add this to the mix, you can go softer with lower gauge if you are happy with that specific string, or higher gauge for more control and tension maintenance.
    Personally, I could play with Hyper G on any racket, as long as the gauge and tension are adjusted..
    18x20 - Hyper G 18 - Tension 45-47
    16x20 - Hyper G 17 - Tension 48-50
    This way I could stay with the string I like, and already know the characteristics, and predictable as well.

    Which string set-up would you recommend for the Pro Staff 97 v14? I currently use Alu Power at 23 kg and would like to add a little more power/spin

    Great video as always! I have heard from a local professional stringer that the Lynx Tour doesn't work well with the Gravity (or soft control frames in general), unless you are a pro who can generate tons of power; he says that it's a stiff string that has to be strung at least at 50 lbs to be activated, and as soon as it drops tension it has to be cut otherwise it will kill your elbow. Did you experience any of this? Thanks a lot!

    • @RacketsRunnersVancouver
      @RacketsRunnersVancouver  2 месяца назад

      I tend to disagree but it certainly isn't the most powerful string. I don't find it too uncomfortable either.

     @RacketsRunnersVancouver Hello, you answered me once when I asked you which racket would be suitable for me, and i play with Head Speed Pro,otherwise I follow all your videos, and I am interested in strings, I use Babolat rpm blast, I am intermediate/Advanced player and play 3 to 4 times a week, and I miss it a bit more comfort and strength/power, maybe a littl feel also in strokes and then I wanted to ask you about Luxilon Power strings, which ones should I take and should I take them at all? It will mean a lot to me, thank you in advance :) in one video you said that they are very good strings but that they wear out quickly after a short time, that's why I'm in a dilemma whether to take them and if I take them, how long will they last?

      You should definitely try alu power at least once to see if you like it. It has a shorter lifespan than most polyesters, but it is still a poly so more durable than most strings.

  • @MyBones85
    @MyBones85 26 дней назад

    Hi Luca, I need your advise and I hope you can help me. I have a question regarding stringing. Normally as a Federer fan, I string my rackets with gut at the mains (58lbs) and Luxilon at the crosses (55lbs). Since the stringer didn't have these strings, and in my eyes the next best string he had was the Wilson Sensation Comfort, I told him to string this at Mains 58lbs and Crosses 55 lbs. When I received my racket he did the entire racket at 60.5 lbs (I assume because I only see 2 knots that he tied instead of 4 knots) and his reasoning was because after 3 matches it will be 58 lbs. So my question is, was it weird from me to ask to drop 3 lbs in the mains/crosses if he only uses 1 same string? Is it pointless? And is he in the wrong for stringing it tighter than what I asked even though his intention was to help me? I played today and it was like hitting with a brick wall in my hand. Hope to hear your opinion about this because I don't know whether to complain and make him re-string it or not. Thank you!

    what would be a good combo for the RF01 300g racket? and one that also helps with the tennis elbow?

    • @kkekang7
      @kkekang7 4 дня назад

      RF01 300g has a denser pattern in the middle, so it offers a bit more control. If you are having tennis elbow, go with natural gut or multifilament. I used this hybrid setup to ease me back during my recovery

I like the snaped vs round slightly stiffer vs softer poly poly hybrid. I found the alu power had nice feel but a little too soft in the pure areo vs also the rpm less consistent somehow

    Im using Yonex vcore 100 with poly tour pro while I was using Solinco Confidential on my Speed MP.. Didnt like confidential on the vcore at all! Too stiff while the softness of PTP allows me to swing at max speed with the racquet

      I also tried confidential mains with poly tour pro cross to soften the confidential but I guess the point you make by the end that shaped strings in spin racquets is too inconsistent makes a lot of sense after I tried it!
