07:33 Correction on the Con's of the Maxify Series as of 2023
The Canon MAXIFY series of printers are equipped with an auto power off feature that automatically turns off the printer after a specified period of inactivity to conserve energy. However, this feature can be turned off if desired. Here's how:
      Turn on your MAXIFY printer.
Press the "Setup" button on the printer control panel.
Use the arrow keys to select "Device Settings," then press "OK."
Use the arrow keys to select "Auto Power Off," then press "OK."
Use the arrow keys to select "Off," then press "OK."
Press the "Back" button to return to the main menu.
After following these steps, the auto power off feature should be disabled and your Canon MAXIFY printer should no longer automatically shut off or enter sleep mode after a period of inactivity.

Epson Ecotank's refillable feature sounds great, but it has a software counter that makes the printer stop working after a fixed number of pages. There is obscure software available (for $$$) to reset it which might or might not work, but officially you're supposed to get an Epson technician to reset that "Waste Ink" counter. Avoid...

What have you found regarding this issue? How can some reviews say the ink will last almost 11 months if this Waste Ink counter is in place? If anyone knows anything about this, please let me know. I need a new printer, to buy ink for my Sh__y HP 8710 pro, ink will cost $130.00 for all colors and black. REDICULOUS!
I believe that the HP ink cartridge chip is a problem when you are a part of the HP ink auto-replacement program. I contacted them on the phone (they had to call me back) and told them to remove my printer, and then the "generic" ink did work on my other HP printer that now, today... just died .
I Ordered a batch of all the "generic" ink from Amazon for $31.00, can't wait to see if this batch will work. Meanwhile, searching for a new printer that takes the tank, has ADF, uses USB and ethernet not just wifi (which is so very intermitant) as well as is eco tank. Not an easy task, but I figure I am already $100. ahead with the lesser ink cost. All info is appreciated. Thanks and take care.

I don't really care about the mega tanks or other similar tech. I want better quality ink, like pigment, that I can trust not to fade or ruin when wet.

Don't buy Hp Inktank and cannon if u did not use long time the header is stock or dry. Cannot buy in market only in service center. We experience in office. We try that two brands. So, we buy brother Inktank Mfc 920dw. Is the best we use every day and ow more than 2years no problem. No hassle. Has permanent head. If we did not use, has automatic cleaning.. We like brother.

It doesn't help if u don't tell price of printer and ink..

    • @88anyname

Printers are like iPhones. They have many generations(I, II, III…), you just have to compare all in the latest 2023 model or in the same level of each model. The higher serial# is the newer ones.(Espon 3850 is newer than Espon 2850)
,aka…iPhone 13 mini vs iphone 14mini; iphone13 max vs iphone14 max. Of course the price may vary from the time you know it to when you are ready to buy it.(on sale)

@@88anynameon’t think that was the question he was asking. He wanted to know price comparisons and long term operating costs such as price of the ink. Some of the ink in printers outweigh the cost of the printer itself. Deciding between two printers can be huge if one print cartridge is $30 vs $60 for another. Especially if you print a lot.
