Back a decade ago, Brother made the best inkjets for home use. They lasted almost forever and worked perfectly with cheap compatible ink. But, that is no more. Today the Epson EcoTank line is the cheapest printer to use but they require a lot of cleaning. All printers are a royal pain. Some are a little less of a pain than others.
About 8 years ago I purchased an HP 3755 DeskJet at Best Buy for $50.00. It now has just decided to give up the ghost. Not bad for a cheapo printer. However, the ink was eye-watering expensive until I found that TEMU sold ones that fit the printer and worked just as well.
Our HP had a warranty and after it was expired I had needed to call tech support to find out how to remove the WiFi connection from it so I could connect it to a different WiFi and they wanted $$$ just to help me.😡
I used to have a Canon pixma. But this new model has a very inconvenient paper out tray, and the lcd screen is hard to access, you have to lift it up to use it!
I used HP for years and had NO problems. Wanted a small printer, scanner because I don't need the big fax combo so an Epson was on sale at Staples. I have had it about a year and I HATE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm done and I'm going to donate it and go back to HP. I know there are bad reviews but I'll give it a shot.
We do so little printing now that we are retired however, we do need a new printer. Here is my criteria: 1.) Easy to install, 2.)Easy to operate, 3.) Reliable/long lasting, 4.) Inexpensive < $150.00. Any suggestions? Bueller? Bueller? Anyone? Anyone?
wow I never knew printers are a general nightmare for so many people, I guess it is safe to say it is a product that still makes tons of money to this day and age. Is there anyone out there who can help me choose between the following 2 printers, it will be used for school and the occasional comic print by my daughter. The printers I would like to choose are either, the HP Smart Tank 530 and Brother DCP-T520W Ink Tank, please advise and thanks
Waring. I've got caught out changing to Win 11 desktops! Can't get a printer driver to do all functions for one of my printers (The newish Brother! The old Canon is fine!) Web search shows it's a common problem with many brands and models. Max Win 10 only models still being sold. I've found Canon to be best for 1. Life - sometimes 10 years! 2. Colour quality - scanning and printing. Especially using photo-quality range (5 ink cartridges. CYMK+grey). I've been able to duplicate photos and others can't pick the original! Not cheap on inks. Used to have a laser printer for B&W with it. Seems some inkjets are now as cheap on B&W as laser (esp having to price in new drums for laser.) Gave up on Epson. Had three in a row all die at 3 years almost to the day! Very strange. Yes - 'normal' life, but right on three years on three machines? Only printer brand to do that. Brother laser is good but inkjets have caught up on economy. Care - electricity cost of laser warming up drum before printing. Not suitable for odd print or two. My first Brother printer was great. MFC-J6930DW. Until I switched to Win 11. prints but scanner operation as before not possible. Have to resort to usb in printer and then to PC. It's getting caught out with unused inks that can't be used in another newer model which I hate.
No too well. I had one and it was fine but the print head went out after several years (not exactly sure how long). Another one creates problems, and sometimes takes ages to even to start printing. I now have a Brother MFC-T910DW and it works great, has duplex, paper feeder, huge number of functions, and is good quality, solid.
Never purchase the HP 2755.. I have this printer and it times out and goes off-line consistently. I have never had to reinstall HP Smart so many times in my entire life except with this printer. Absolute nightmare. And don't even get me started with the reoccurrence of charges on Ink when you don't even need it.
Hello, brother, I want a color printer that prints high-quality color photos, pulls and prints notebooks, and also prints large A3 paper. I want it for home use, for children, to be practical, have few downtimes and maintenance, and have cheap ink.
I bought a Canon 1 time, and it required I go to Canon website to download the proper driver. If you are not careful and mis type the URL they give you to the Drivers on Canon, by even a letter , you are sent to a fake Canon site, which then says they require remote access to my PC to complete this. Obviously these ass hol, have bought the websites close to the proper URL . And put up fake sites. After this I will never buy a Cannon again. They should be aware of these sites, and shut them down. Some people will not realize what they are doing, until they have access to your PC, and do whatever illegal thing they can. A good example is spelling Canon , Cannon.
I’ve had 2 Epson printers, what irked me was the ink evaporates. I might print an occasional letter using black ink only, and would have to replace all 4 every month.
Apparently Epson only works for a limited time, then you get a “Service Required” message and have to send it to them to fix it, so it seems like a scam.
I had the HP 9015e and it did not last one year. Piece of junk. Lot of complaints online about this printer failing within one year. Will never buy another HP printer. HP used to make good quality printers but today they are crap.
Why the Fk do you need a FAX these days? Your mobile phone can send a message quicker by sending the page image! They were for pre high speed internet era. Overtaken by email and 4,5G data speed

Never buy an HP printer. Pure garbage.
why
100% agreed. HP makes the worst printers.
Same thing with epson, I'll try canon this time 😢
Agreed my printhead went out after 2 years and it’s a known issue but hp refuses to replace because my warranty is up just under 2 months 😢

I bought an Epson. It Sucked!
Care to tell us WHY?
Epson=trash,
I’ve had 2 Epson printers, what irked me was the ink evaporates. I might print an occasional letter using black ink only, and would have to replace all 4 every month.
Can't be worse than new HPs lmao.
Epson ecotank it is fillable tank is best other 4 printer are cartridge printers avoid these greedy cartridges business
The eco tank is really nice, would like to see more brands follow suit on that system
I bought one, wouldn't refill the ink tank, sent it to be repaired, paid money, it came back and still wouldn't refill the tank. Avoid at all costs
Apparently Epson only works for a limited time, then you get a “Service Required” message and have to send it to them to fix it, so it seems like a scam.
Just need a printer Not need a scanner Get your title right
Most have both functions these days
I had the HP 9015e and it did not last one year. Piece of junk. Lot of complaints online about this printer failing within one year. Will never buy another HP printer. HP used to make good quality printers but today they are crap.
