- What if Tokoyami was kidnapped instead of Bakugo? In My Hero Academia Season 3 Episode 6 and 7, we see the villains' vanguard action squad kidnap Bakugo, and ATTEMPT to kidnap Tokoyami. However, what if Shoji recovered Bakugo, and the villains got Tokoyami instead? We explore the outcomes of capturing Tokoyami and his quirk Dark Shadow would have on the villains.

For the sake of the series, it was more dramatic for Bakugou Being kidnapped

If you look back on the episode, Tokoyami is behind Bakugo. In order for Compress to take Bakugo without being noticed is to take Tokoyami too so he can't alert the others. Compress probably was debating whether to wait or just go for it when he saw Tokoyami behind Bakugo. There's also something I noticed about their poses, Bakugo is in his normal "angered" stance but Tokoyami's on the ground, Compress possibly had to take him down before capturing him.
This is just one reason why Mr. Compress would take Tokoyami, or Compress probably saw him as a villain more than a hero just like Bakugo.
I feel like it was a combination of both, or more like he saw someone very powerful to use in their team in a quick lapse of judgement that he only had a brief moment to think about. I think Tokoyami has huge villain potentials as well if people don't play their cards right, all because he has a quirk that can come off as villainess. Hopefully, I'm making sense...

It's ok, you do make sense. I checked where he goes in the manga, and he does increase in power and technique incredibly fast at one point (not saying where). So yea, I guess he can be seen as someone extremely powerful.

Dark Shadow went out of control and destroyed Moonfish in one hit after seeing Shoji get hurt, so I wonder what in the hell would happen if Tokoyami were to see Shoji get killed. I guess it’s kinda dark but like I’m curious.

All For One *would’ve* taken Tokoyami’s quirk, Dark Shadow, and use it for himself, that would be interesting tbh
I think there are three ways this could've ended.
1. Tokoyami being seen as useless to the villains gets turned into a Nomu with afo possibly stealing his quirk.
2. Tokoyami is used the same way they used bakugo, events stay the same they did in canon with a different rescue team from 1a probably including bakugo and shouji.
3. Tokoyami is kept and turned against the heroes by the villains using dark shadow against him either ending up with him joining them or becoming a villain independ of the league. This outcome could also lead to a new relationship dynamic between him and hawks.
Regardless what would have really interested me is seeing afo interacting with dark shadow and tokoyami and possibly learning more about the sentience of the quirk, if that is a thing, and exploring just where tokoyami ends and dark shadow begins.
I'm making a fancomic about this theory, I'm really interested in it tbh

Truth Hero nah, pretty much just initial kidnapping and then the interactions between toko and the villains. Oh yeah, also some scenes that involve the rest of the class wanting to save him

I read an interesting take on what if Tokoyami also got kidnap which is Called Heroes in the Dark by Iffondrel, it is a what if story where we focus on Tokoyami as he was also kidnapped and seeing how deal with being kidnapped.
Ok now for real I feel like Dani’s flame would be able keep Dark Shadow tame, but I don’t see Tokoyami being hostile, he will be calm and try not to anger these villains because unlike Bakugou he doesn’t underestimate them, he will deny being a villain, but will try not to anger the villains as much. Also Tokoyami being kidnapped would do some good character work on him and Aoyama since he will believe he doesn’t deserve to be a hero for not being brave enough to save Tokoyami, which would be interesting. I really feel like the scenario will be the same with Bakugo except Tokoyami doesn’t try to be an idiot and challenge the villains.

Truth Hero it's a mutation quirk because it physically change him he does have a human body with a bird head.
Hmm... idk, I feel like he wouldn't be able to take Dark Shadow as he's basically his own entity. I could be overthinking this, but I feel like Dark Shadow is very different from the average quirks that All For One steals.
