The Pyroraptors are a knockout tame and only ever require 1 flame feather to tame, regardless of the level. They are unique though in that there's a chance for it turn into a Phoenix Pyro as you saw in one of your earlier episodes. There's a 10% chance for a wild Pyro to turn into a Phoenix Pyro when you kill a normal Pyro. 5% for a tamed pyro to turn into Phoenix Pyro. So, my recommendation is that you find a high level Pyro and kill it to try and get it to turn into a Phoenix Pyro, then tame use the feather to tame that. The Phoenix Pyros are bigger and have like 2-3x the stats of a normal Pyro. Once you get a Phoenix Pyro there will be an icon on the upper right that indicates the tier level. There are 5 tiers to the Phoenix Pyro. The higher the tier the better the stats. But the thing with this is that you need to kill a tier 1 Phoenix Pyro to get a percentage chance for it to evolve to tier 2. There's also the chance that it just dies and then you lose your Phoenix Pyro. So, there's a risk involved if you want to get a higher tier. I just stop at tier 1 since I didn't want to spend extra time on it.
Edit: forgot to mention the Phoenix Pyro has the ability to use a flame kick and flame breath attack. They can also be healed by fire if you use a Wyvern to blow fire on it. Lastly, Phoenix Pyros breed with regular Pyros and Phoenix Pyros. But you will only ever get a regular Pyro, even if you breed 2 Phoenix Pyros.

Put as many of your tames inside your base. The spiders and megalania can climb over the wall. That might help them stay safe from wyverns too

Idea instead of leaving the castle. Why not build like platforms around your base to prevent your dinos from being attacked like lay down floors into the ground and then place ceilings on them to make a plate form where no one can come up unless they are using a flying dinosaur. So basically turn your surroundings area into an umbrella type to prevent humans agroing onto your dinos unless they have a flyer but even then your dinos can still be on top with your base and not on the ground.
