    Hello, I like your video. However, I think you should have included the price of the components you used as well as the total cost it took to make the build. It would have been a far more interesting and useful video in my opinion.

    Thank you for this so much. Pretty much will be replicating this entire setup. I shoot a lot of music videos and noticed my freehand work when it's not on a gimbal can get kind of shaky, I realized it's due to not having a setup like this. Allows you to still be free but have control. Awesome and thanks again!!

    Hey man, lovely setup! I was looking for a way to adapt my XT-20 for video use as the next project I have is going to be handheld. Got lot's of inspiraton from your rig and the cage is on it's way. I have to say, For now just slotting the battery clamp into the bottom receiver of the camera is the most barebones thing I could think of in order to achieve the extended battery life and adding that little bit of extra weight! footage is already more smooth ^^

    hey, this is amazing, I might replicate the whole rig but before that, I got a question, would you recommend getting a gimbal or doing this rig? Which one would have more stability, especially if I'm using a lens with no built-in stability, would this rig still be as steady as a gimbal?

    • @aransamson
      @aransamson  Год назад

      heya! for stability you would still want a gimbal. this setup still has a lot of handshake, gimbals would generally remove that while this kind of rig just makes it more pleasing and less jittery.

    Since you’re building the small rig, I assume this footage is from the XA-7? Thinking about getting the X-S10 upgrading from XT200, would you suggest getting it with the 18-55 too? Or Am I good with the 15-45 3.5-5.6?

    • @aransamson
      @aransamson  2 года назад +1

      Good eye! Yes I shot this on the A7. I personally like the 18-55 over the 15-45 just because I like the physical zoom rings over the power zoom mechanism of the 15-45. The wider aperture of the 18-55 is also quite noticeable. That being said, I used to own the 15-45 and I regret letting it go. There are things I miss such as the 15mm wide end and also the super compact form factor. (The 18-55 is like three times bigger.) I hope this helps!

      @@janjericsantos I think the XT200 is a great photo camera! but for video I would go with the XS10 or the XT4, if you could wait, I am hearing a lot of good things about the rumored XH2. I'd even go for a used XH1 too. Happy shooting and looking forward to your future videos!

    • @jpr-tech
      @jpr-tech 2 года назад +1

      I've been shooting with the xc15-45mm recently. Now, I prefer the 15-45mm... Actually used to own the 18-55mm. And trust me, sharpness difference is not what you'd expect. I have a video showing how the 15-45mm is actually sharper in some apertures and focal distance.
      That's why I sold the 18-55 got the 15-45 and had left over to get another lens! The XF50mm f2 WR.

    I don't understand this statement "Some Canon Dummy Battery that can connect to USB Type C". What does this mean?

    • @StefanSchmalhaus
      @StefanSchmalhaus Год назад

      A dummy battery is a plastic container that has the size, shape and connections of an original Sony, Canon, Fuji etc. battery but doesn't have any battery cells. Instead, the dummy battery comes with a cable that connects the camera directly to a power bank or a larger battery (for example, V-mount batteries). The dummy battery might include a bit of electronics for converting the voltage.
