This was the best attraction I tried in Disney HK. The amount of detail from the artifacts up to the background was very impressive. I love how the 4 trams are completely synchronized. All in all the place was very atmospheric. Have you also tried the Grizzly Runaway Mine? That was the best roller-coaster ride in the park. :D
+David BCC I haven't been to DLParis yet, but for me, this is the best attraction I have ever experienced! Would LOVE for it to come to the states, but that is very doubtful.
Joshua Youngs If you look closely there are many similarities between the two. I'm not saying this is the Haunted Mansion, but this is Hong Kong's equivalent to it.
Absolutely stunning. I can see why Mystic Manor is in Hong Kong Disneyland, though. The otherworldly level of whimsy, imagination and bravura manifested in that ride would be lost on 99% of Americans.
Yeah, even as an American myself, I can agree. HOWEVER a lot of the younger generation would love it. I know I would, and I'm 25. The animatronics are incredible, and the fact it's trackless gives it such a smooth transition. Let's not forget the music! I love how the song of the music box is played through different styles pending on the room's cultural designation.
AllEars.net Would be a nice thing to replace the very outdated Tiki Room... And that building is pretty big... and this ride doesn't look terribly long.
Disney always is over the top with the details in their attractions, but this one might be the most detailed one. I'd love to see it in person one day and I love how its in English too. It stinks that its hard for us to understand the rides in Disneyland Paris, Hong Kong Disneyland, etc. and that people who speak other languages have a hard time understanding the language in the attractions here as well
Not gonna lie, I cried a little, solely due to how much I was fondly reminded of Atlantis, The Adventures of Tintin, and Night At The Museum combined. Really wish I could go to Hong Kong Disney now.
wow, thanks for the video of this great attraction! At one point I felt they gave tribute to Rolly Crumbs original inspiration of walking thru a 'museum of the weird', but with incredible state-of-the-art effects! awesome!
I absolutely love this. Wish I had money to go to hong Kong, but heaven knows how expensive that is. This ride is lovely! It is like if you gave the Indiana Jones ride in California a haunted mansion type of format, and a more cartoony caricature as this adventurer dude with the what I will call Aboo the 2nd (the monkey) and this happens. I wish I could be there. Thanks for the wonderful video! Despite how sad it is to me that HM was not recreated there, this makes up for it big time. :D
You guys need to be there to enjoy the full experience. When the room became is you feel the freezing temperature and when the darts are shotted you can feel that gusts of wind that felt sharp right through your face. And that cannon... caught me by suprise.
This is a great video of the ride, enjoyed it alot!!! I am trying to talk my wife into going in November of this year mostly just for Mystic Manor.I have been down under twice so the flight wont bother me but shes scared of flying that far.I told her we put it on the credit card and sort it out later!!!
Don't count on it...Mystic Manor is this park's substitute for the Haunted Mansion...it's got something to do with the cultural differences between the U.S. and Hong Kong on depictions of death and the afterlife.
You know what's interesting? Those portraits earlier, we don't know who they are but we know that they're in the Society of Explorers and Adventures with Lord Mystic.....and Harrison Hightower III.
RFID tag and Wifi connection to all auto drive vehicles. They send info to all vehicle and it go itself. Original Disney said that it can randomly select scene that the vehicle would go through but they disable it before it debut.
mystic manor was the planed 3d refurbish version for wdws haunted mansion. it got scraped due to budget and since hongkong disney was built, they built it there.
+ellie thompson Paris has a great Haunted Mansion though. Phantom Manor kicks the ass of the DL and WDW ride any day of the week. It has a storyline and an actual villain.
Those who wish it built in other parts. U need wait 5 years after it open I guess in 2018 or later as Hong Kong Disneyland has exclusive rights to it for 5 years
OMG! At about 7:43 in the left corner! There is a freaking Haunted Mansion singing bust! Maybe this is a nod since this is the alternative of HM in hong Kong? ;)
AllEars.net I just did another look, at one point in the ride there are the 3 HM busts. I was not able to get them on still camera or video because you only got a glimpse.
The effects look fantastic, BUT ... the story and concept seem weak. It's hard to say exactly what I mean, but it is similar to the difference in feel between an EPCoT ride and a Magic Kingdom ride. The story in the original Haunted Mansion is admittedly vague and maybe even contradictory, but it does leave the impression that there is a lot more story than is being revealed, and that weird things happen even when you are not there to see them -- more things and different things than you might be seeing. The same was true with the old Mission to Mars ride; your visit to Mars was cut short by a meteor storm that would not "normally" happen, leaving most of Mars yet unexplored. The Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea ride was cut short by an attack by a giant octopus, which brought the undersea exploration to a premature end. I suppose we should assume the monkey opens the music box every day, but it seems unlikely that anything different would happen. There could be a real mystery about the Society of Explorers and Adventurers -- who they were and what other neat things they might have found -- but they are entirely overshadowed by the music box, which seems to be a unique artifact and the only magical item.
Don't know if you've seen any of Tim Burtons animated films such as Nightmare Before Christmas and Corpse Bride and all of those movies, but he is the composer of the songs, and really in my opinion I think he is great. He also composed the music heard throughout the ride. Hope that helps ^^
Actually no. China, Japan and so many other Asian countries closed themselves off to the west for a period of time up until the 18th and 19th centuries, and that was BARELY for trade alone. You're thinking India. Many other countries, compared to the US, have foreign languages as mandatory for people to learn.
+Bleu_Ace actually, no - Hong Kong was a major part of the British empire for a very long time, only becoming Chinese again very recently, within the last 20 or so years when the lease ran out. Go to Hong Kong now and it's still like being in London - even the buses are the same. English is everywhere. As are the English.
Wow, this has to be the most state of the art animatronics and effects I've seen in a Disney-based ride!
+David BCC I haven't been to DLParis yet, but for me, this is the best attraction I have ever experienced! Would LOVE for it to come to the states, but that is very doubtful.
+AllEars.net They already have the Haunted Mansion in the U.S. and this ride is based off of that.
+Haunted Amusement! No this was completely different from Haunted Mansion.
Joshua Youngs If you look closely there are many similarities between the two. I'm not saying this is the Haunted Mansion, but this is Hong Kong's equivalent to it.
+Haunted Amusement! Indeed. It's just more myth-related to ensure it does not offend the Chinese culture, who have different views of the afterlife.
The BEST newest addition to HK Disneyland!
THIS RIDE NEEDS TO BE IN DISNEYLAND!!
Noah Metchnikoff And replace the ORIGINAL Haunted Mansion!? Nohoho THANK YOU!
I didn't say it should replace the original. It could be its own ride
They should build one at one if of the 4 parks here.. It would match animal kingdom I feel
Not so sound rude. But Florida has a lot more stuff that the original Disneyland
xXTriforceHeroXx WDW 4 Parks = 90 rides and shows. DL 2 Parks = 88 Rides and Shows...
That place was amazing, definitely one the best experiences at Disneyland! Thanks for sharing!
Absolutely stunning. I can see why Mystic Manor is in Hong Kong Disneyland, though. The otherworldly level of whimsy, imagination and bravura manifested in that ride would be lost on 99% of Americans.

yeah because every ride in Disneyland is based on fact and true stories
Billy Walker, Jr. The only reason this ride was made is because The Haunted Mansion was too scary for a Hong Kong audience.
I have my free vacation by watching this video, thanks.
hehe, thanks! We hoped we could bring it to as many folks as possible since Hong Kong is so far away! Enjoy and feel free to share with your friends.
Thanks Disney and thanks Deb!! Mystic Manor would be a perfect addition for Disney World's 50th in 7 years just like they added Soarin.
I couldn't agree more! I"m thinking perhaps Adventureland.
AllEars.net Would be a nice thing to replace the very outdated Tiki Room... And that building is pretty big... and this ride doesn't look terribly long.
This looks very well done! I could see it going into Adventureland for the US parks!
+Truncated Holiday I totally agree!
+f*cken funoodle It can be separate from the Haunted Mansion, as it could be aimed at children who are too easily frightened at it.
The effects on this attraction look incredible!
Oh My God... the moment she said about the ride in the last part of the video... I just wanna book the ticket right now!
7:53 alfred just let the puppet out of his music box and he is now giving objects life
Wowzers, that looks amazing! Thanks Debs and the All Ears crew. xx
Glad you enjoyed it Melanie. Feel free to share with your friends. We believe it is one of the better videos of Mystic Manor out there!
Disney always is over the top with the details in their attractions, but this one might be the most detailed one. I'd love to see it in person one day and I love how its in English too. It stinks that its hard for us to understand the rides in Disneyland Paris, Hong Kong Disneyland, etc. and that people who speak other languages have a hard time understanding the language in the attractions here as well
The attraction blew all of us away... all veteran WDW and DL park folks. Absolutely loved it!
ik but there is a ride called Jungle River Cruise and there are the languages Mandarin, Chinese and English
Thank you so much for sharing. This is amazing!! I think Hong Kong DL just moved up higher on my bucket list!
Man they've been holding back on us in Florida. This is fantastic !
For every rides in Hong Kong Disneyland. I love this one the most.
Not gonna lie, I cried a little, solely due to how much I was fondly reminded of Atlantis, The Adventures of Tintin, and Night At The Museum combined. Really wish I could go to Hong Kong Disney now.

this looks like gold
Thank you so much for putting this up! It was so cool to see the show building behind the show front! =)
You guys need to be there to enjoy the full experience. When the room became is you feel the freezing temperature and when the darts are shotted you can feel that gusts of wind that felt sharp right through your face. And that cannon... caught me by suprise.
Daryl Pang You are absolutely right! The special effects of various senses really added to the experience!
If I ever find myself in Hong Kong I'm so going on this ride
This one was my favourite!
Wow! That looks amazing! Hope we have something like that soon here! Wow!
It is an incredible attraction. We have a 2nd video I'll put up next week of an alternate ride through. Very different experience.
They need to redo the Haunted Mansion with some of this mind-blowing technology. 7:45 to 9 minutes was just amazing.
I reallllyy enjoyed this ride 😊😊😊
This is a great video of the ride, enjoyed it alot!!! I am trying to talk my wife into going in November of this year mostly just for Mystic Manor.I have been down under twice so the flight wont bother me but shes scared of flying that far.I told her we put it on the credit card and sort it out later!!!
If you have the money I would strongly suggest getting the English Tour Guide. We learned SO much about the themeing and nuances to the rides.
wow this was amazing really interesting concept as well
This is great. Hopefully WDW gets this ride someday.
That would be outstanding!
Don't count on it...Mystic Manor is this park's substitute for the Haunted Mansion...it's got something to do with the cultural differences between the U.S. and Hong Kong on depictions of death and the afterlife.
+snarkus63 honestly tho this could fit fantasticly in animal kingdom in the Asia section. Animal kingdom needs some new attractions anyway
You know what's interesting? Those portraits earlier, we don't know who they are but we know that they're in the Society of Explorers and Adventures with Lord Mystic.....and Harrison Hightower III.
+luveprincesora 2:43 has been confirmed to be Danny Elfman
Wow, cool ride! I wish it was at Disney World!
This is the best ride in Disneyland HK! :)
Thanks for sharing this Deb!!
You are welcome!
So what guides the vehicles? This is so great on video, I can't imagine what it is like in person.
+funglu gps
RFID tag and Wifi connection to all auto drive vehicles.
They send info to all vehicle and it go itself.
Original Disney said that it can randomly select scene that the vehicle would go through but they disable it before it debut.
mystic manor was the planed 3d refurbish version for wdws haunted mansion. it got scraped due to budget and since hongkong disney was built, they built it there.
That idea was from Disneyland's Haunted Mansion. Mystic Manor was pretty close to Walt Disney's original idea of "Museum of the Weird".
also this ride is so good it makes up for the fact that hong kong disneyland is the smallest disney park
I love that this is in english
they should make a movie and video game of this.
Elliot Earles you mean Tokyo Disney sea right
that would be dope
Thanks for the reply.I will keep that in mind about the tour guide if we get to go.Thanks.
Great video we plan to be here this December can you recommend good places to eat here
I wish we could have this attraction here in America.
If not the exact attraction, something to the full extent of the detail and trackless ride vehicles.
AllEars.net Exactly!!!
Good news. Journey Into Imagination is going to be refurbed and may become a trackless dark ride that may have a similar vibe + story of Mystic Manor.
I hate this story line, but the effects are mindblowing! they should bring these effects to the US or Paris as well!
+ellie thompson Paris has a great Haunted Mansion though. Phantom Manor kicks the ass of the DL and WDW ride any day of the week. It has a storyline and an actual villain.
This was done on the eve of my bday.
The park seemed so empty. Were you the first one's there? Is this just a dead time to go? Thanks for the video, appreciate it.
We went shortly after the Chinese New Year celebration ended. The park was pretty empty that day, a Thursday. We were so fortunate and thankful.
The true "original" ride
Love this wish i can go hehe
At 1:51, the two young gentlemen in caps are Roy and Walt Disney!
have you guys been back since 2014
My favorite rides
1st most fav. is small world
2nd most fav. is mystic manor
3rd most fav. is astro blasters
Im getting the monkey toy in august 30th for my birthday lol
Those who wish it built in other parts. U need wait 5 years after it open I guess in 2018 or later as Hong Kong Disneyland has exclusive rights to it for 5 years
I 've been there yesterday at Hong kong
Rode this when I was in HK Disneyland! It was really nice. btw, what's the title of the soundtrack you used starting at 2:35?
Sorry I don't remember. I'll try to look it up and respond once I have the answer.
Is it okay to film the whole attraction? will they allow me to video my self and my family?
As long you won't gonna use the flash on your camera it will be okay. You can film on every rides at Disney Parks.
+Tj Samson ah ok thanks for the reply
Was it Me or I saw a portrait of Danny Elfman?!
SOS Fantômes Pretty sure you did :)
AllEars.net that's so cool, but why is there a painting of Danny Elfman there?
my comment didnt work first time but it is now
chelsea lopez He wrote/composed the music for the attraction
Omg! I love him so much he's so talented!
I have rode mystic manor 🤗😄
year 2014 when we tooj our first ride there. i was shock with that dart thingy, and the girl whose hair is a snake.. and.. the mummy...
This should be made into a short
OMG! At about 7:43 in the left corner! There is a freaking Haunted Mansion singing bust! Maybe this is a nod since this is the alternative of HM in hong Kong? ;)
Pinkie CupcakePie Exactly it is the nod to the "traditional" Haunted Mansions!
AllEars.net
I just did another look, at one point in the ride there are the 3 HM busts. I was not able to get them on still camera or video because you only got a glimpse.
ive tried this already
Think you can go to DisneySea and do the Tower of terror?
Hi you can't get that
How come?
The music used in the line reminds me of Oddworld.

I think of it as Disney's version of Night at the Museum.
What about shiriki Utundu ? That’s another magical item
When I was like six I ride on it it scared me until I cried lol
I went to Hong Kong in 2017
Who is danny elfman? Sorry im not so familiar with this rides movie or anything :)
maja santos Danny is a composer and wrote the score for this Mystic Manor attraction. He has also worked on other Disney Projects
Don't know if you've seen any of Tim Burtons animated films such as Nightmare Before Christmas and Corpse Bride and all of those movies, but he is the composer of the songs, and really in my opinion I think he is great. He also composed the music heard throughout the ride. Hope that helps ^^
I wish they added some dinosaur skeletons to Lord Mystic's collection.
