    Hi Sorin, this why manufactures should be forced to fit sockets for gpu and cpu , also some form of crowbar circuit in the event of high voltage , but all that interests them is money, but a great diagnose of the problem, love the videos 73 Jim

    37:15 : the hot spot disappeared because you wiped the CPU clean, which transformed it into IR-mirror, so after that you were seeing your ceiling (room temp). some surfaces even non reflective to the naked eye (like non polished aluminium) are perfect mirrors when seen through thermal cam. Just put masking/painters tape on that kind of surface to "fix" it

    My lenovo legion 5 died after a year and a half. I used to be a big lenovo fan but not now. Unacceptable. Surfed the net and I find I am not alone. Look up issues for lenovo buyers beware. Also see what they are saying about customer service. Watching this video and others has helped me realize what problem my machine is having. Thanks for the informative videos.

      What do you mean by "died"? My Legion 5 is one year old now and the only issue I had was that my SSD died which the warranty covered, warranty is 2 years, yours should be covered too unless you opened it or misused it.

    • @jimheston9127
      @jimheston9127 3 месяца назад

      @@kenshi7563 The battery would charge and then drain instantly so it had to be plugged in all the time, then there were slower start ups and if I plugged it in and waited a few minutes it would fire up. Then it finally seemed to struggle when I went to copy files to a usb and would just shut down. Then it would not start. Only the keyboard is lit and the screen is black. Perhaps it is under warranty, perhaps I only had a year. Regardless, I purchased it on a visit back to the USA and am overseas where getting it back to Lenovo would be really costly.

    Sorin, my ASUS r753u failed with bios update which came from win10. It’s not manufacturer. They outsourced it to windows since not every customer is doing bios updates over a few years. This comment is in context to older video. It’s also a way to end a working laptop after 6 years of use. They want to customers to buy every 2 years. All i do is coding and Computer Science Projects. Good enough computing power for a student.

    I've owned a couple of laptops that constantly killed the GPU , after replacing several GPU boards, I found out that, SOMEHOW, the board had VRAM thermal cooling pads that were too thick, ordinarily this may not have caused me to be alarmed until I realized one thing...Thermal pads that are too thick caused the heatsink plate to lift up off of the CPU/GPU(since they require thermal paste), causing an overheating issue that totally destroyed the CPU/GPU.
