Hate to play devil's advocate here, but Gary Taubes ("Good Calories, Bad Calories") would have something to say about this conventional calorie in/out model. In short, a calorie of salad is not the same as a calorie of sugar. Body composition is not calorie in/out - it's (estimated) 80% diet (WHAT you eat, not HOW MUCH) and only 20% exercise. For 6 months, I ate huge amounts of fat and protein and cut out carbohydrates mostly. I exercised very moderately and did not count any calories whatsoever. Went down from 88 kg to 74kg and a blood test showed that HDL cholesterol was raised and LDL low. I'm a case study that the low-carb model works and this video is the antithesis of that.
You've just said one thing and done another. All you have done is removed a full macro-nutrient which of course is going to put you in a calorie deficit which is energy balance.
Why the plug for yoghurt which is often sweetened with sugar or juice concentrate? Or worse, with toxic artificial sweeteners? Everything else in this video makes sense.
Outdated! Cannot believe this is part of my tertiary education nutrition course. As if one could exclusively apply thermodynamics principles to biological activity. The human body is governed by the activity of hormones. One can eat 3.5k calories in a day and still lose weight if his or her insulin is kept at bay. On the other hand, one can calorie count below 1.5k and exercise but eat the wrong things (hint: eat carbs) for her metabolic profile and end up slowing her basal metabolic rate down over time, lead a shitty life, and put on weight. The latter has been tried by millions and it has failed most overweight people as a long-term solution. It's time we try something different.
Thanks this video is a simple way to remind our selfs that we should take control of our own health 👏
Kudos to you people for compiling such a video
It's important to always take control of your health.
Thanks verry much for this video. It's really useful for a class-presentation.

Agree 100% read the Obesity Code as well, tells us a calorie of x is not equal to a calorie of y relating to how the body uses it :)
finally somebody said it
Very helpful. Thank you for creating and posting.
It's really helpful thankyou so much!!
Amazing video!
Could you change the settings so it can be embedded?

VERY USEFUL.CONGRATULATIONS
Hi, this video helped me
Thank you so much

when energy balance is positive in the body, does body mass decrease?
No, a positive energy balance will result in an increase in body mass/fat storage
Nope the opposite
