There are of course, like any other social movements, heated rather controversial discussions and opinions made politically and socially both locally and globally. And people do get argumentative to prove their points. And often times , public can interpret in different ways, where one such way is same as that of the speaker where he sees feminists are fighting themselves to become who is better feminists !!! Since it’s an opinion, we can leave to the listeners to understand the people and emotional aspects within a movement across different political and social contexts. Even when the constitution ensures and safeguards the rights and liberties in a democratic system, historically don’t we all know that this democracy is majoritarian, patriarchal and hegemonic ! And definitely this discriminatory majoritarian democratic system decides who has the power to decide , who to be governed and what is normal and what is acceptable legally , politically and culturally. And so various gender identities are also highly relevant in a democratic system. One might argue, if this detailed comment is needed but I guess, the speaker and the channel is engaged in serious discussions. Hopefully this would be taken in that sense. Even when the constitution ensures and safeguards the rights and liberties in a democratic system, historically don’t we all know that this democracy is majoritarian, patriarchal and hegemonic ! And definitely this discriminatory majoritarian democratic system decides who has the power to decide , who to be governed and what is normal and what is acceptable legally , politically and culturally. And so various gender identities are also highly relevant in a democratic system.
