Excellent interview. സണ്ണി കപിക്കാട് നല്ലൊരു സാമൂഹിക ശാസ്ത്രജ്ഞനാണ്. സംവരണത്തെ പറ്റി പറഞ കാര്യങൾ മുഴുവൻ ശരിയാണ്. സംവരണ സമൂഹത്തിലെ, over represented caste നെ മാറ്റി നിർത്തേണ്ടതും under represented caste ലെ കൂടുതൽ മെമ്പർമാരെ മുന്നോട്ട് കൊണ്ടുവരുകയും (അതിന് creamy layer filter വേണ്ടിടത്ത് ഉപയോഗിക്കണം) ചെയ്യേണ്ടത് അത്യാവശ്യമാണ്. അതുകൊണ്ട്, ജാതി സംവരണം ഇടക്കിടക്ക് review ചെയ്യേണ്ടതാണ്. സംവരണത്തിലെ ഫണ്ടമെൻഡലിസം ഒഴിവാക്കേണ്ടതാണ്. എന്തുകൊണ്ട്, ഇത്രയും കാലമായിട്ടും സംവരണ ലക്ഷ്യം (proportionate representation) സാദ്ധ്യമാകുന്നില്ല എന്നതും ചർച്ചക്ക് വിധേയമാക്കേണ്ടതായിരുന്നു.

ഈയിടയ്ക്കു മീഡിയ വൺ നിലമ്പൂരിലെ ആദിവാസി ഊരിൽ നിന്നും പഠിച്ചു phed നേടിയ ആദിവാസി വിഭാഗത്തിൽ പെട്ട ആദ്യത്തെ ചെറുപ്പക്കാരനെയും അദ്ദേഹത്തിൻ്റെ നാട്ടുകാരുടെയും ദുരവസ്ഥ വരച്ച് കാണിക്കുന്നുണ്ട്.
ഇവര് കാട്ടിൽ കഴിയുന്നത് കൊണ്ട് വനത്തിൽ പോയിസ്കൂൾ ഉണ്ടാക്കാൻ വന വകുപ്പ് അനുവദിക്കില്ല, വന മേഖല കഴിഞ്ഞു ഇവർക്ക് വേണ്ടി ഹോസ്റ്റൽ സൗകര്യത്തോട് കൂടി ഉണ്ടാക്കിയ സ്കൂളിൽ 15km നടന്നു വേണം പഠിക്കാൻ വരാൻ, അങ്ങനെ വരുന്ന കുട്ടികളെ കൂടെ പഠിക്കുന്ന നഗര വാസികളായ വിദ്യാർത്ഥികളും മറ്റും അറിഞ്ഞും അറിയാതെയും പരിഹസിക്കുകയും ജഡ്ജ് ചെയ്യപ്പെടുകയും ചെയ്തിട്ട്, ഇവർ പഠനം നിർത്തി പോകാറാണ് പതിവ്,
ആദിവാസി ജനതയുടെ കാര്യത്തിൽ മാത്രമല്ല, എൻ്റെ കസിൻ സിസ്റ്റ്റർക്ക് എസ്എസ്എൽസി 95% മാർക്കുണ്ട്, പക്ഷേ സ്വന്തം നാട്ടിൽ ബയോളജി സയൻസ് കിട്ടിയില്ല, കമ്പ്യൂട്ടർ സയൻസ് എടുക്കേണ്ടി വന്നു, ഒട്ടും താല്പര്യം ഇല്ലാഞ്ഞിട്ട് കൂടി.
മലബാറിൻ്റെ കാര്യം എടുക്കാം, ഇവിടുത്തെ കുട്ടികൾക്ക് പഠിക്കാൻ സീറ്റില്ല എന്ന് എല്ലാവർക്കും അറിയാം എന്നാൽ സര്ക്കാര് സ്കൂൾ നിർമിക്കുക യോ ഉള്ള സ്കൂളുകളിൽ സീറ്റ് അനുവദിക്കുകയോ ചെയ്യുന്നില്ല, എത്ര കുട്ടികൾക്കാണ് ഇത്തരത്തിൽ അവസരങ്ങൾ നഷ്ടമാവുന്നത്. വിദ്യാഭ്യാസ സ്ഥാപനങ്ങൾ നടത്തുന്നവരും അവിടെ പഠിപ്പിക്കുന്ന ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥരും ഭൂരിഭാഗവും ഉയർന്ന ജാതിക്കാർ ആയതുകൊണ്ട് തന്നെ വിദ്യാഭ്യാസത്തിൻ്റെ മൂല്യം തിരിച്ചറിയുന്നത് കൊണ്ട് പ്രത്യേകിച്ചും അവരുടെ മക്കളേയും ബന്ധുക്കളെയും പരമാവധി രക്ഷിച്ചെടുക്കാൻ കഴിയുമെന്നെങ്കിലും കരുതാം. അതൊന്നും ഇല്ലാത്തവരുടെ കാര്യമോ..?
എൻ്റെ സുഹൃത്ത്, നായർ ജാതിയിൽ പെട്ടതാണ്, നല്ലപോലെ പഠിക്കുമായിരുന്നു, maths degree എടുത്തതിനു ശേഷം കൂലിപ്പണിക്ക് പോകേണ്ടി വന്നു, അവൻ്റെ ചേട്ടനും ഡിഗ്രീ എടുത്തു, അവനും പണി ആയില്ല, അനിയന് പക്ഷേ പിന്നെ പഠിക്കാൻ താൽപര്യം ഉണ്ടായില്ല, പ്ലസ്ടു കോമേഴ്സ് കഴിഞ്ഞു പഠനം നിർത്തി. ഭൂമി ഉണ്ടായിട്ടും, അടച്ചുറപ്പുള്ള വീട് ഉണ്ടായിട്ടും, വിദ്യാഭ്യാസമുള്ള ബന്ധുക്കൾ ഉണ്ടായിട്ടും, അടുത്ത് തന്നെ സ്കൂൾ ഉണ്ടായിട്ടും, ഒറ്റ തലമുറയിൽ ഇതാണ് അവസ്ഥ എങ്കില് 5000 വർഷമായി ആട്ടും തുപ്പും സഹിക്കുന്ന, കുടുംബത്തിൽ ഒരാൾക്ക് പോലും ഡിഗ്രീ ഇല്ലാത്ത, സുഹൃത്തുക്കൾ ഇല്ലാത്ത ചെറുപ്പക്കാരുടെ മാനസികാവസ്ഥ എന്തായിരിക്കും...?
