It's watching ppl that keep popping out of the woodworks thinking they have the solution...only to get conedically owned yeah, this is more a comedy than some sort of action series
It has weaknesses, but that's not the point. He's not a standard protagonist. He's more like an eldritch horror that got unleashed onto a high fantasy world. It's more about the comedy of watching people in a high fantasy setting get destroyed because they don't understand that he's from outside of their genre. Plus it's easy to miss that he is actually quite vulnerable. The reason that he doesn't hesitate to kill threats is because he can't really pull his punches in most scenarios. Imagine somebody with a desert eagle getting dropped into a story about master swordsmen. They all wave around their fancy swords and demand an honorable duel, but the guy with a desert eagle doesn't have a sword or know how to use one. So his options are to either allow himself to get beat up or to just shoot them before they can get close enough to cut him.
@@leyrua Eldritch Horror is not something that just says die to everything. That was my question in similar comments regarding this show. In fact I'm trying to find a reason to watch this show at all. But after what I have seen just now and in the other clips, it's not really hard to see how pitifully small the stakes are. They are next to not existent. I even brought up some questions to the table: - Does the protagonist have a goal in his life? - Are all of the fights just the protagonist insta kill his enemies like in this video? - Does his powers have any side effects? Does he miss someone special back at home in Japan? Like family or something? - does he have any motivation beyond that? - does he even show emotions? Like anger, sadness, happiness? - did the protagonist face a greater challenge at all? Like facing opponents, who could face him in spite of his powers? Like a power, which works like the complete opposite of nothingness or the end. It could be creation. It could be the beginning, in a sense. If this show meets at least like three or four conditions, then I might give it a try.

Anyone who even looks at him the wrong? "I'm Alive" Card instantly revoked. And this sometimes even happens automatically, because apparently Takatou can have his ability instantly recognize the moment someone directs any intent to hurt or kill him, and retaliate by killing them without him having to even decide to do it conciously. But now all that’s left of her is a cold corpse that will only rot disgustingly... And she could bloom while alive Isn't it disgusting to see a young girl die?
Obviously he can but he doesn't know the full potential of his ability But one thing to note is he killed the concept of "omnipotence" in a blatant manner though
It WAS rushed, but it's not weird or randomised. Guy is literally the end of everything, who one day decided to experience life in the shape of a human. While he can be killed, not only is it insanely difficult to do so, he's only an avatar of the true form, so he'll just reincarnate as a different human.
That what's suck about people in this anime. Realistically, everyone will get cocky when they have power. Their selfish and Arrogant cause all of this to happened.
Put this goofy ass kid against anos, goku, zeno-sama, any fcker from DC comics, or Marvel. They're losing. I'm not sure how far he would do against the SCP foundation due to the absurd amounts of hax but this MC is the walking concept of "death"
That's the issue. People in that world are mistaking his ability for instant kill when that's not even the ability in a specific sense. Their thinking of it as a normal really rare ability meanwhile his goes past that. It doesn't just kill them it erases it. Doesn't stop at the body, doesn't stop at reviving, doesn't matter the difference in dimensions. What he said is actually quite literal. As in whatever makes you you and any and all form you use if he says die ALL OF THAT and you as a living person dies. And from his ability there is no reincarnation or chance of living. Pretty much if he says die everything of that targeted existence ends Like how for example in a game your thinking of their ability and in this show its more or less sions world. Sion thinks it's a ability and maybe from the system? Idk about that part. Does that worlds NORMAL instakill ability just kill the body and not everything? This stuff is just my guess so far
Voldemort: "Avada Kedav-" Takatou: "Die." Voldemort: dies. Takatou: "He needed six syllables to kill; what a noob." Harry, Hermione and Ron: (breaks wands) "Fuck Gryffindor; we're joining YOUR house!"
The problem with Yoshigi isn't just that he's overpowered. It's not even that the Ultimate God himself is afraid of him. The problem is that any superpower that exists must account for the possibility of more than one person with that power. But two people with Yoshigi's power wouldn't just be overpowered; they'd be complete chaos. Logic itself would break if one of them came close to killing the other, even the old fashioned way. Yoshigi's power comes with a reflex that automatically kills anything that would otherwise imminently kill him, whether he wants to or not.
How is this even enjoyable?? I'm sorry - I like a strong MC, but I also care for a good story - And I can tell you with a shadow of a doubt, that there is such a thing as too OP. And before you come to me and send me death threats and what not - I am not hating on the story. I'm saying that it's idea is absolutely stupid. It's basically like saying: "I have no idea how to make my MC strong, so I'll pull random bs out of my ass". There are MILLIONS of ways to make an MC strong/OP, but still an enjoyable one. From all the clips I've seen, the MC is not enjoyable.
Another one of those series where the character is absurdly powerful? Seriously, the narrative world must be in such a bad way for there to be so many works where the authors insert themselves into them all the time.
TBF its meant as a parody of the "Overpowered MC" trope. Lots of people he encounters (and kills) are other tropes of the isekai genre. And he isn't just "overpowered, he's literally "the end of everything". Strictly speaking, he doesn't "kill", he can "end" everything. There is no defense, no hiding and no returning/resurrection. Even unstoppable and unkillable Demon Lords fall before him.
I was thinking, if he can really kill anything, couldn't he just "kill" the opponent mana? If he do that, the person won't be able to use any kind of skill for ever, will be literally just a regular teenager. Furthermore, that world has a System that gives skills and other things, why he dont just "kill" the system?
He himself never experimented with the possibilities because he doesn't really need it. He tried to test in by casting in different parts of a body he could not "kill" someone, it worked only when he tried killing the eyes of a target, and not even with a full eye transplant that mf was able to see. I'm sure he could, but he is indifferent, also it's not like he's actively trying to kill people, but for some reason everyone keeps trying to jump him
It's possible but Takatou is too indifferent to life, he has feelings but why did someone bother to teach him that In general he doesn't care about anything
Actually no, he could kill Andy and Viktor if he wants to. Spoiler Later it's revealed he's not the concept of death. He's the concept of the end. Death is only a part of that concept as death is the end of life. The way I see it the only being that could resist Yogiri's hax is someone who doesn't have a "beginning". And as far as I know there are no characters who don't have a "beginning" no matter how old they are.
These girls did not deserve to die - their consciousness was distorted by Yuki Tachibana's ability It was only because of his ability that they attacked! MC could easily save them from control... Agree, it was necessary to do just that... Yogiri did the wrong thing and very badly Lost two souls just like that It's a pity for the girls
Well i mean, his only power is killing stuff. other than that power he is legit just a normal dude. he wasnt aware they were being controlled and were trying to harm him. and his ability automatically activates even if he doesnt want it to so it really aint his fault
The only thing I can think of that MIGHT be able to beat Yogiri is the Nothing from the Never Ending Story. Not only is there literally nothing for him to kill, he's still a FICTIONAL CHARACTER and the Nothing destroys ALL fiction. Course I could see Yogiri trying to fetch someone from our world to stop the Nothing because he doesn't know if he or the Nothing can affect each other and he doesn't want to test it. Of course (again) the only other thing I can think of is people writing very meta fanfiction where they go "This is MY story and if I say his powers don't work, they don't!" Petty? Definitely but people have and will create petty things like that over anything. Just look at some of the content we have today. Anyway, I have only read about the series from TVtropes and the official wiki, I haven't read the light novel or watched the episodes yet. From what I've looked up, I can't tell if this is a another deconstructive parody or the author was doing a "Ha-ha! My character can beat all your characters!" So what's enjoyable about this series?
nope. yogiri is the physical manifestation of the end. his power is absolute and defies all natural possible logic. there doesnt need to be a physical form in order for him to kill it, as using his powers simply kills the very concept of that thing, even if that thing exists outside the dimensional plane of reality. the Nothing can still be killed because its something that can be conceptualized.
@@MasterOfTruck So basically the only way he can "beaten" is if another author just doesn't care and does the whole "My story, my rules!" It's escalation like that which killed (no pun intended) any interest I have for OP characters and makes me wonder if the reason we have so many is because it's an indirect pissing contest between authors. One guy on the Instant Death Wiki commented: "After reading the series and watching the anime, I feel the author just wanted to “flex” and create the most OP thing that nothing in any kind of fiction or non-fiction can beat and make sure that not even anything else from any other franchise can beat Yogiri. Honestly, I find it ridiculous. The author is basically doing a “One Punch Man” story except not as good." Was that Tsuyoshi Fujitaka's intention? I doubt it but I can understand why some people might feel that way. But in all honesty, what is the genuine appeal to this story?

@@roberthohman4637so little to none.
I even brought up some questions to the table:
- Does the protagonist have a goal in his life?

Yugiri Takatou isn't just OP, He is *too* OP.
He literally has NO weaknesses or challenges, he can kill anything by just thinking about it, in some cases even without even thinking about it.
There is no way for him to grow as a character, because he can solve any problem by "killing" his way out of it, including by "killing" things that aren't even alive.

Pretty much if he says die everything of that targeted existence ends
Like how for example in a game your thinking of their ability and in this show its more or less sions world. Sion thinks it's a ability and maybe from the system? Idk about that part. Does that worlds NORMAL instakill ability just kill the body and not everything?

The problem with Yoshigi isn't just that he's overpowered. It's not even that the Ultimate God himself is afraid of him. The problem is that any superpower that exists must account for the possibility of more than one person with that power. But two people with Yoshigi's power wouldn't just be overpowered; they'd be complete chaos. Logic itself would break if one of them came close to killing the other, even the old fashioned way. Yoshigi's power comes with a reflex that automatically kills anything that would otherwise imminently kill him, whether he wants to or not.

It's basically like saying: "I have no idea how to make my MC strong, so I'll pull random bs out of my ass". There are MILLIONS of ways to make an MC strong/OP, but still an enjoyable one. From all the clips I've seen, the MC is not enjoyable.
Watch Kamen Rider Zi-O the story is literally that a OP MC who's not OP at the star but becomes more OP further in the series

Another one of those series where the character is absurdly powerful? Seriously, the narrative world must be in such a bad way for there to be so many works where the authors insert themselves into them all the time.
Fr bro
TBF its meant as a parody of the "Overpowered MC" trope.
Lots of people he encounters (and kills) are other tropes of the isekai genre.
And he isn't just "overpowered, he's literally "the end of everything". Strictly speaking, he doesn't "kill", he can "end" everything.
There is no defense, no hiding and no returning/resurrection.
Even unstoppable and unkillable Demon Lords fall before him.
The idea behind his power could be:
Enemy: 1x10^99/1x10^99
Him: die
Enemy: 0/0
Even nonliving things dies 😂
What is even the point of this trash?
If the whole dimension/universe is written like on a book than yogiri is the eraser
I was thinking, if he can really kill anything, couldn't he just "kill" the opponent mana? If he do that, the person won't be able to use any kind of skill for ever, will be literally just a regular teenager.
Furthermore, that world has a System that gives skills and other things, why he dont just "kill" the system?
if he kill the system his friends wont have the system and he can say half die/dead and that person is disabled/half of his body is dead

Of course (again) the only other thing I can think of is people writing very meta fanfiction where they go "This is MY story and if I say his powers don't work, they don't!"
Petty? Definitely but people have and will create petty things like that over anything. Just look at some of the content we have today.
Anyway, I have only read about the series from TVtropes and the official wiki, I haven't read the light novel or watched the episodes yet. From what I've looked up, I can't tell if this is a another deconstructive parody or the author was doing a "Ha-ha! My character can beat all your characters!"
So what's enjoyable about this series?
nope. yogiri is the physical manifestation of the end. his power is absolute and defies all natural possible logic. there doesnt need to be a physical form in order for him to kill it, as using his powers simply kills the very concept of that thing, even if that thing exists outside the dimensional plane of reality. the Nothing can still be killed because its something that can be conceptualized.
@@MasterOfTruck So basically the only way he can "beaten" is if another author just doesn't care and does the whole "My story, my rules!"
It's escalation like that which killed (no pun intended) any interest I have for OP characters and makes me wonder if the reason we have so many is because it's an indirect pissing contest between authors. One guy on the Instant Death Wiki commented:
"After reading the series and watching the anime, I feel the author just wanted to “flex” and create the most OP thing that nothing in any kind of fiction or non-fiction can beat and make sure that not even anything else from any other franchise can beat Yogiri.
