Knox this reaction touched me. I went through a divorce last year. But I didn’t isolate myself, everybody around me isolated from me. I have alone for the last 15 months with only work as a social outlet. It has definitely been a struggle. A loss is a loss no matter how you lose it.
Im gonna be 💯 with you on this.. 1st and foremost shout out and prayers to the guy who requested this.. I pray for you and your loss!! I'm not trying to take anything away from that at all. But I want to personally say thank you to so many people!! You Knox, NF, Jelly Roll, REN, Coldplay, and Linkin Park!!! Over the last 5 years (Im 41yo as of march 7th) you guys have really kept me going!! Let's start at the beginning, I've always dealt with loss. When I was 21 I lost my best friend, before that I lost my 5yo nephew. Then last 5 years turned into a living hell. 1st my grandmother passed, and she lived a full life, so I'm grateful for her, shortly after that on new years day, I lost my cousin way too soon to Cancer. Then my father and I went to hold my lil sister's hand as they pulled her off life support, fast forward to my birthday 2 years ago, and I got a call assuming it was birthday wishes, never in my life did I expect it to be a call telling me my dad passed away from a heart attack (on my birthday), then things got worse, his wife/my stepmother (previous cancer survivor) was diagnosed with 3 different types of cancer. It was tearing her down, and right after she lost the love of her life (my dad). All this proved to be too tough for my youngest sibling and only brother, he took his own life... and not even a few weeks after that, my stepmother lost her fight.. all this seemed back to back for me. I've spent the last 18-24 months trying to process, and grief, but ultimately just acting like I'm ok and not dealing with it. Then Feb. 10th I fractured 3 lower right ribs while at work. (Keep in mind please we run a 1 income home, my wife is an amazing stay-at-home mother for our 2 disabled sons) so that took me out of work so the financial stress is incredibly hard right now) then literally on Feb 12th I was rushed to the hospital by ambulance and admitted for a few days. (I couldn't even be there for the love of my life and kids on Valentine's day). Come to find out I have a kidney stone that over 25mm (about an inch) most people who suffer from them the average size is around 4-5mm and they describe the pain as worse than natural childbirth. So I was immediately transferred to a specialist. I've now had 5 evasive surgical procedures (once a week) I've had 2 stents inserted, and 3 blasting sessions, plus a URS (you can look it up if you want but it's not for the faint of heart) I still have at least one more this Monday. I feel like the old-school song lyric, if it wasn't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all. So needless to say, 6 years ago life was great, today im a literal mess. Psychically, and mentally. My body feels like Im dying (I know this too shall pass) but Im not sure I'll ever be the same as before. And it breaks my heart.. my family deserves the me I used to be!!! I just pray I can one day get back to being that person. Sorry for such a long post. But I just want to thank any and everyone who has helped me either directly or indirectly. I just need to keep repeating "This too shall pass!"

I've heard this song multiple times but after hearing your breakdown I have a new perspective on it. It's just my interpretation but still. Nate is the one hurting, wanting to be held. Britt is the one wanting to comfort, wanting to hold. She's been in the pain, can relate, and wants to help him out of it. In the build up, one of Britt's line is "I need you to hold me now" while Nate is struggling and feeling lost. It's almost like he's having a breakdown in front of her eyes and she's just like "I need to fix this. Hold me. Let me make you feel safe." I've been there when someone is so upset they don't want to be comforted and all I want to do is hug them and comfort them. And I've also been there where I've been so upset a trusted someone's innocent touch feels foreign and unwanted.

My best friend past in 2013. I’m an only child; he was more like my brother. I was 31 when he passed. I was 18 when we left our parents’ houses together and rented a 2 bedroom apartment in a Baltimore city house basement for like $900 a month I think. He meant a lot to me and is my 1st sons godfather. I wouldn’t have the career I do without him, 10 years later and I still have a tough time putting these thoughts down. I know I’ll never be that same crazy person he encouraged in the best of ways.

Because of my illness I am mostly cut of from people. Only person I see 2 a week is a medical person. During the lock down I did not speak to another human for around 8 months. Without going to much into my illness, its a very.. Most people can not understand it. I do need the social aspects of life, but at the same time it kills me to have it. So I barricaded me from life, to a point where I am not really living it anymore. However it is the only way to stay alive. I did not lose one, but everyone. Including myself. Because I had to stop existing. Because trying would be the end of me.
