As a "FOREX" trader and a sports car enthusiast, I was taken aback by the complaints with the company's name. Actually, that is what intrigued me. Seriously, I can think of many companies with perceivably odd names. Rolex for starters. Anyway, the watch is durable, dependable, and a comfortable wear. I definitely recommend Formex.
I've had one for a few months, non COSC with a blue dial. I think it's an amazingly well made watch, the overall finish and the amazing bracelet put watches costing 3x to shame. It's so good, in fact, that it has really made me question the true value of my more expensive watches. Looks great on my 7.5 inch wrist.
I struggle with the name, but I like everything else about the watch. To me, it sounds like some kind of construction compound. "We're going to use Formex to construct those walls." Excellent review, as usual.
Another winner from Formex. I like this company very much. Initially I pulled the trigger on one of their watches due to how comfortablythey wear. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and durability.
I was reading through the comments and it seems the number one complaint is the name, Formex. Well, I am a car guy and drive a Corvette. The name is what attracted me to the watch. I am glad it did because this is an exceptional timepiece. Definitely worth the price.
Hi Jody, I got mine for the early bird Kickstarter price. With bracelet, the additional strap, shipping and taxes I paid under €600 for the watch. Great value for money! Best regards, Claus
Another new brand for me too . You said 150 gram directly i said with you SWEET SPOT!! ...nice . This this the level of joy and knowledge we get from this channel. Good job Jody.
Great review. I am shopping Formex right now. Went back and watch this video again. It helped me make the decision. I’m going to pull the trigger, and spend more than I’d like to spend. I’m going with the ‘element’ by Formex(Non-chronometer version)...Not chronometer saves a few hundred bucks and as a fellow Scotsman I like saving money!
The case and strap assembly you showed are bang on, I love those patented features! Like you, my friend, the price is a bit of a concern... while it may well be worth it? I suppose I will, for now, simply admire it from afar. I was NOT expecting the Fabiolous Barker sample, brilliantly edited in! Great review Jodie, thanks!
I just love the comments I've seen on YT and on other sites about the name of the brand. That it sounded like a cleaning product or an insecticide. I'm loving it !
I saw this and bought it when it was available on Kickstarter in March. Great looking (mine is the Brown Chronometer version) and great timekeeping. All the bits and pieces on the straps and bracelet take just a little time to get figure out but this is an amazing detailed watch. Competes quite well with many of the major brands and for much less money!
It is very much sounding like an ant product. However it isn't far from Rolex and we don't think Rolex is such a bad name. Goes to show how strange we are
I return to report I purchased one recently (the degrade chrono on black leather) and have noticed that the suspended case is also handy for pulling hair off one's arm!
Formex sounds like a render you put on exterior walls to me. A beautifully built and nicely thought out watch. I love the finishing and especially like the bracelet however the dial fails to excite. Great review as always.
Looks Unreal with all variants an dig the micro adjust and shock absorber thingy. I Love the French Lettering on the dial. You Rule JOMW,,,, Ahahahahaa!!!
The name sounds weird because it's unfamiliar. Rolex could be a roll-on deodorant if it weren't as famous as it is. Formex have made beautiful watch for the price.
Iove the watch and size my Handspan is 260mm, keep all the straps, I would fit a 5 ring Zulu and this watch would replace my victorinox inox, Please keep up with the great job & Cheers from Perth Australia 🐨🙏
Nice review, Jody! I like this watch a lot! I was just checking it out at LIW, and am impressed! I have recently been interested in a Damasko DA37 on a strap. 40mm is the smallest I would buy. 43mm is a nice sweet spot for my 7.5" wrist, and I have several watches in that size with a few being a bit larger. Of course, what really interests me in the Damasko is the ice hardened case! What scares me with the Former is the probability of dinging or even scratching the case! Lol! But; to me, there's a lot to like!
I have to disagree with most re the name and the logo. It's different and refreshing imho. The fact that the name and logo are attached to such a beautifully made timepiece that is obviously as functional as it is pleasing to the eye only gives the name and logo a gravitas that is made more individual by virtue of the company not merely trying to come up with a more 'traditional' name and generic 'classy' logo. Different allied to high quality equals better imho :)
Hi Jody.. I have one of these with the Blue Face (Non Chronometer) on black leather. The workmanship is amazing for the price. I supported Formex in their Kickstarter campaign for this model and I am glad I did. Raphael (CEO) even message all his backers to find out the shipment status of the watch.. amazing guy 👍👍👍
Just talked to Jory from The Time Teller about a collab with you. Cannot wait to see my two favorite watch channels join forces!!! You KNOW it's gotta be called "Just One More Time"!

Formex certainly ticks all the watch style boxes; chrono, pilot, dive and formal/ business looks. Love the Formex Element although at $1,300 - $1,600 it is out of the JOMW range.
Im debating myself wether if get the SPINNAKER Dumas or not, because of the crystal bezel, some folks have broken it and SPINNAKER won't let me buy a spare bezel. What should I do? I absolutely love the octagonal shape of the watch and can't find any other octagonal diver watch. :(

I love these. Is it necessary to have all that adjustment, I don't know. But I like the idea of it. Especially on a large 43 mm watch. I wonder if sand gets stuck in the moving parts

Fully agree with everything you said, can't do much about the name but the LOGO DESIGN is the real SHOCKER! I will gladly design a new logo for them free of charge because the watch overall design deserves much better!! (Awesome review, loved it)
Another cracking review Jody. This watch has always been of interest since I saw Armand review it a while ago. I was a bit weirded out by the suspended case and was not a fan of the hex screws either. Although the Royal Oak seems to be getting away with that just fine. Prefer the chronometer versions dial so it’s a bit of a shame you don’t get that if you buy this one (super accuracy is not something I need). Shave off 2mm from the case size I agree would be more saleable. But I too can’t help but like it very much, I keep looking on eBay to pick one up used but no luck so far. Thanks for ‘sparking’ my interest again. He he 😁

Hi Jody , another great review . I just want to say the name don't bother me as long as the watch is awesome and by the looks of it the watch is pretty good , I wear my watches low on the wrist so this would probably wear well for me and because I have big wrists I think the 43mm will look good so I guess I better start saving for one hahaha . I just want to say the name don't bother me as long as the watch is awesome and by the looks of it the watch is pretty good , I wear my watches low on the wrist so this would probably wear well for me and because I have big wrists I think the 43mm will look good so I guess I better start saving for one hahaha . Cheers ....
Would you please consider reviewing the carnival chrono from AliExpress? Seems very interesting based on the reviews
Never thought I'd hear Skee-Lo on this channel. Absolute tune though.
As for the watch, I completely agree about the size. Also to me the name sounds like some plastic or resin composite.
Love the tune. Got a shock when I saw how old it is/I am!
@@JustOneMoreWatch I know it's crazy isn't? You know you're getting old when stuff like this is classed as classic or old skool.
I personally think that rap peaked in the 90's. Maybe not with Skee-Lo. But the likes of 2Pac, Biggie etc. I regularly find myself saying (un-ironically) there's no skool like the old skool 😆
There's only a handful of rappers now I really listen to. Joyner Lucas, J. Cole, Anderson .Paak, A.F.R.O are some of them.
Nice piece. Logo of this case watch reminds me od Tissot Visodate
