The boy Ben is living the dream. Travelling, running and covering a world athletics championship. You took the gamble of giving up your job and it seems to be paying off.
Thank you, it certainly is!
And, yet Ben is not even near to being an elite athlete. Ben's times and performances are embarrassingly slow. The only talent Ben has is delusional self-promotion
@@robertmalseed7376what's need for this?
I don't understand the point of this comment, Ben is sharing the world of running that could suit somehow to a turtle like me no matter if it means loosing all the competitions, just challenging myself and improving my own possibilities. Maybe you can try it too
@@bartlomiejpazderski1946 OK, Ben has absolutely zero experience in any international level competition, and has never been selected to run for England/Britain. He has never competed in the UK championships on the track, and only been selected once for Essex in the cross country. His times 4:09 1500m. 4:31 mile, 8:29 3000m, 14:57 5000m and 31:26 10000m. In comparison to myself Ben is way slower, and I have ran for Essex, England, Northern Ireland and Ireland on multiple occasions. I also used to run for Colchester and Chelmsford, and know full well that Ben is a fraud
Unbelievable to step on that track Ben. And Budapest is an amazingly beautiful city.
It certainly was! Would love to explore a little more but within 30mins of being outside a shower and aircon became a necessity 😂
Another perspective of this increndible athletics week! Thanks for your dedicated recordings, Ben!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you 🙏
Looked like an absolutely amazing place to be, proper jelly. Thanks for capturing the BTS!!
It certainly was! Unbelievable at times :)
I’ve seen so many of your videos but this one has got to be bang up there with the best. Great insight and what a feeling that just have been. Definitely want to get myself to an event like this one day. See you at the Vitality 10k!
Thanks Ed! Took a fair bit of time to put together so I’m glad people are enjoying :)
Top, top video Ben. What a spectacular event from top to bottom, and you captured the excitement marvellously.
Glad you enjoyed it!
What a vlog Ben! I had the opportunity to go to Budapest and see four evening sessions as well as the marathons but having some insights like this is amazing! Btw, it was me who saluted you on Friday when you were entering Margaret Island running.
Been following your journey for a while now - absolutely buzzing to see you living out your dream! 🎉
Thanks Daniel, this was one crazy trip!!
AWESOME Jacob...❤❤ And thank u for this Ben🙌🙌
mad props, ben! pristine work! happy for you and tks for bringing us along :)
Appreciate it!
Great video, looked like you had an amazing experience there!
Loving the footage, this week really made you fall in love with track and field again a thousand times over. Cheers Ben!
Certainly did, what a sport :)
Fantastic video, Ben! I'm glad I could relive Sunday from your perspective. I also ran in the 5.7km Mass Race, and in the evening I could see the miracle of Bol and Jakob live. Thanks again for the great reviews! Attila from Budapest.
You're welcome! What a night of athletics that was!
i truly enjoyed your asics videos! wish, there were more to watch.
Thank you! I’ve got all the footage so I may make a highlights video :)
Great video and experience.
Awesome! What an experience!!
Apart from the obvious, a big highlight for me was use of the word “hurtling”! 12:41 Old school! 👊🏼
Doesn’t even sound like a word now I’m saying it aloud again 😂
Such an enjoyable video Ben!! I know you had a blast!!
Thanks Cory! I certainly did :)
Love this ❤❤
Awesome stuff Ben!!
Glad you enjoyed it
Wonderful video mate! My daughter and I were watching the World's on TV here in Australia, but loved how your video really showed the atmosphere in and around the stadium!! Top work.
Glad you enjoyed it, thank you :)
Living the dream Ben! Asics couldn't have picked a better person to take over their socials for Budapest! INSPIRATIONAL
Very kind, thank you very much :)
As a hungarian and Ben is running follower it was splendid to see you covering the world championship. Great content as usual! You are truly inspirational on every level for me, Ben. Saying as a busy neurosurgeon with family life and running addiction ;)
Awesome, thank you! Keep up the great work :)
That's awesome...
Thank you! Cheers! :)
What a beautiful stadium!!
It certainly was :)
Ben take a bow, what a awesome video👏🔥🔥. I love what you mentioned about the life of the stadium after the games with another track above the main one👍
Thanks Simon! Took a fair bit of time to put together so I’m glad people are enjoying it :)
I was watching this event all week. So fun to see Behind the Scenes stuff and your reaction to some of the races. The racing this week was so exciting! Kerr passing Jakob in the 1500 was insane, Kipyegon winning her races, Femke Bol falling in the 4x400 mixed then coming from behind to win the women’s relay, Sha’carri qualifying on time to get to the 100m finals and then winning, plus more. Don’t get me started on the field events!
Glad you enjoyed it! It certainly was an incredible champs!
Such an exciting event and it seems you enjoyed it off the track too! Well done on your 5.77km, that also looked super fun. Really enjoyed the video, thank you!
Thank you, much appriciated.
I’m always dumbstruck as to how everything is aligning up for you! Who would have thought 1.5 years ago you would be at the World Championships in another country for a whole week!
Yay, I'm originally from Hungary, had lived in Budapest for 6 years, and I have lived in the UK for 16 years. It's lovely to see you strolling around where I spent my early twenties.
this is so cool !🤩
Thank you 🎉
Looks like an amazing experience
It certainly was
Great content! Here, have a coffee, from a YT and Strava follower.
Very kind, I’ll enjoy a good coffee next time I’m out and cheers to you. Much appreciated 😊
First I see your tearing coros pace 3 and now a new video? Dang it's a good day.
Wow, what an experience 🎉🎉
It really was :)
Well done on your medal! Great video
Thank you :)
great vlog benny ben
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks!
It was great to see you (again after at the Eldoret track in Kenya) during the womens marathon! Keep up the good work Ben! (Just found out I have a whole 10sec for myself in the video😂)
Awesome! Thank you, small world :)
Living the dream......
Budapest is stunning, I loved my time there :)
Me too!
Double first
Thanks Fab 🫡
@@BenIsRunning supporting the good guys is the only thing we can do as payback .
Where can we watch the Asics content you were part of? Nice video, a good look behind the scenes after watching te World Champs on tv for the last week. Because I'm Dutch very happy with the results despite of the falling of Femke and Sifan in the beginning of the week.
It’s on the ASICS Running instagram, the Budapest diaries :) The women’s team did incredibly well in the 400m relays, can’t believe they came from so far back!!
hoping you can come to australia and run marathon one day
Very "inspirational" indeed. Thanks for the vid. Must have been an AWESOME experience. btw how old are you?
It certainly was! I’m 25 :)
Cant wait till you're at the Worlds competing too Ben!! #claimit
Appreciate the confidence in me, a little off that yet ahah :)
@BenIsRunning sure it made you smile though!! Have a wonderful day can't wait for more content!
Stunning that the stadium was built just for this event. I know they do that with Olympics, but for some reason never considered that they did that for Worlds. So cool that there are so many people attending. I need to go next year! Do we know where it will be? What a cool opportunity for you to work with Asics on covering the event!
It’s an Olympic year in 2024, so no Worlds. 2025 Worlds will be in Tokyo since they built a beautiful stadium that no one got to see for the Olympics in 2021. Because of COVID, only press got to be in the stadium, no spectators.
@@cori2356 OMG Tokyo is on my list of where to travel so looks like 2025 is the year to do it!
Awesome experience I bet! That stadium was shaking. Did you get to see Cheptegei?? Best 10,000m runner since Bekele I reckon. or possibly Farah. Seeing Jakob and Katir must have been wild!!
I wasnt there for the first few days so no but watched it from home! Great race :)
yeah
Ben are those Oakleys the Radar EV Paths?
Ben, as a double threshold enthusiast, I can't believe you were rooting against Jakob!
Got to support the brits!
"it's Ingebrigtsen time baby!"
3 min later "GO JOSHHHH!!!!"
PMSL! He soon deviated!
As a fan of jakob, there was nothing more exciting that seeing a brit take him down once again :)
Cant belive that you got on the track.
Felt pretty surreal I must admit
i bet it felt surreal getting up close to the athletes and being on the track
It certainly did at first but then you realise they are just normal human beings like me and you :) Once i told myself that it was a lot easier to talk to them lol :)
@@BenIsRunning great way to put it to be fair ben, we’re all human and all have equal chance to be up there one day as much as they do
FYI in the states 30 degrees is freezing weather 😂😂😂
Good to see you reaping the rewards of your hard work, Ben. Now, can I have your life please? 😅
Thanks Richard :)
Massi Milani spotted!
I really want to go to a professional athletics tournament one day. Was it hard to get the tickets?
I went with ASICS but I believe it was pretty easy and affordable at these champs but it depends on the location I believe:)
@@BenIsRunning thanks Ben 👍
16:29 thumbnail worthy
Agreed!
Ben, just a quick observation: on the opening of the video the name of the country is mistyped as Hungry. The correct form: Hungary 😊
Cheers!😊
My bad, thank you :)
First 🎉😂😂
Nope
Almost!
@@BenIsRunning very close one
Did you miss Mondo Duplantis pole vault-final?!
I saw the qualifying but unfortunately was in the mix zone waiting for mr katir so missed most of the final :)
@@BenIsRunning Too bad, but nice video! 😊
Great vid, 2:57 look at that batarde trying to grab his arm.
So when will you run there?
Never say never :)

@@BenIsRunning 😇
Did you meet up with kofuzi?
I did yes, managed to squeeze in a dinner which was lovely :)
It's a hot dog Ben lol
In a hollowed out baguette, not seen that before
@@BenIsRunning it was just funny listening to you explaining what it was. And I'm shouting it's a hotdog 🌭 😭. I'm sure they have their own name for it though.
@@Fozzee.1970surprisingly in Hungarian it is also called hotdog 😊
talking about a 40.000 stadium sold out for 9 days for an athletics event! The World Champs belongs in Europe no doubt.
Agreed!!
Why shorten your race to 6k. Make it 5k - at least that’s a recognised distance
Yeah this would've made more sense in my opionon but i guess it was more to do with how the course was laid out already from the marathon :)
Will Jacob's defeat by Josh Kerr put an end to this fetish for all things Ingebrigtsen - including the "double threshold days" (in reality doing two moderately hard sessions in one day, something top runners have been doing since the 1950s? OK, he won the 5K - but there the fastest 5K runners this year let the pace dawdle and predictably got smoked over the last 1000 by two very fast 1500 runners. No real surprise there. Both races show the importance of superior under distance speed.
muito ruim este video muito cortado , kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk
Completely bogus., not invited to compete in the world championships, just playing with words, and trying to pretend to be an elite, world class athlete. Ben is just a slow runner/ con artist
Are you okay mate?
@@Jessie-me8xl I am, Ben isn't
@@Jessie-me8xl 31:26 for 10,000m is not fast and definitely not world class. Its not even club level
GOOSEBUMPS...NICE TO SEE YOU IN 🔴⚪🟢BP! -I HOPE YOU HAD A FEW BEERS TOO! ;)
Thank you! I didn’t, no time for beers 😂
