    I don’t wait for Christmas. In the fall I take large pine cones and paint just the tips with metallic gold, copper & rose gold paints. Add some silk autumn leaves and you have an elegant fall display.

    Put in a plastic container an shake around. Cover more of pine cone/s.
    I love the pine cone tree. Never seen those long skinny pine cones in real life. We have the big fat tall ones and the little ones.
    This is off from Christmas, but I remember when in elementary school at Thanksgiving we made turkeys out of pine cones. I gathered up two big garbage bags of those big fat tall pine cones and took them to school, so my classmates and I could made turkeys for Thanksgiving.
    The other classes saw me bring in the big bags and asked what they were??? They wanted me to bring their classes pine cones the next day for their classes.
    I got more trash bags full my mom and me and we took the in the car the next morning. I guess you could say it was "the rush of the cones".
    That day was filled with crafting our colorful turkeys for the "Turkey Run". Lol. Google. Schools need to be fun like they were when I went our, "Back Then".
    They were such a big hit that the school displayed them in the auditorium for everyone to see on the night of the Harvest Festival.
    Everywhere, you turned; there was a turkey with a name on it.
    Everywhere, you looked, there was a turkey looking back at you.
    Everywhere, all you could hear was, "Gobble, Gobble, Gobble."
    Everywhere, you walked; you felt a, "Peck. Peck. Peck on your shoes."

    Thanks for sharing these. Last summer I saw what I thought was a Hometslm video where they did something to the pine cones that made them turn a Silver. I picked up bags of pine cones all over the place this fall. Doctors offices, sides of the road to turn them Silver. I’m glad you have some ideas so I can still use some of them. I wonder if I boiled them with a lot of Mexican vanilla and then added cinnamon, would it add the scents. Dis you know you are supposed to bake the pine cones in the oven to kill any bugs that might be living in them. Thanks do much for the ideas. I’ll be painting some tomorrow. If anyone remembers how to turn the. Bluish Silver. Let me know. I’m an insomniac. Mi bet you love these long rants when I should be sleeping.

    • @coffeewithmysunshine2506
      @coffeewithmysunshine2506  4 года назад

      Oh wow! Now I want to find out how to turn them silver. If I found out how I'll let you know😊. Let me know if boiling them in vanilla and cinnamon works. That would smell sooo good😋. Yes, I did know you had to bake them. Eew I experienced the tiny bugs coming out of them a long time ago. So now my hubby puts the pinecones on a low heat in the grill for me lol. Girl I'm the same way with not sleeping. So, I feel your pain lol. That was me the other night🙄 watching RUclips at 3:30 in the morning. I hope you have a wonderful day and can get some rest💕

    Use a blow dryer to get rid of the hot glue strings works great.

      Coffee With My Sunshine just step it up until it dissolves. I think it depends on the hairdryer. You don’t want to melt the rest of the glue so a quick fly pass is all you need.

    To remove hot glue strings, take a heat gun or hairdryer and move it over your project. It melts the stings quickly and easily.
