I just bought a 1986 Elite 250 a few days ago (Feb 14, 2024) and it's in near perfect condition. All the digital dash works and I got it to 64 mph today, and I weigh 300 lbs.
I bought a 2010 Honda Elite last week from a tow lot. It sat there for the last seven years. No key - attempting to get it running. Thank you for your videos.
Hello there! Yesterday we finally found a 1987 Honda helix. So happy to finally own one. And to top it off it came with the Honda kenwood dealer radio . Works great… keep looking there out there…. Cheers!!
I found a 92 Helix but the guy wanted too much. Test drove it and you could tell it had never been serviced or taken care of. If the price had been lower I would've bought it.
Thank you for the great videos. I like the meticulous detail you exhibit during the restoration. I have a 1985 Elite 250 waiting in my shop. Your videos will be a valuable reference!
Your videos are amazing. I recently purchased a 1985 elite 250 from the original owner. No bird seed but I did find several rodent nests. One under the carburetor with a stash of acorns and various food items in the air box. The other I found in the handlebar cover where they chewed one of the directional wires. Don’t worry I Soldered and heat shrunk the wires.
As always you do a great job with your videos. I'm still waiting to see the Morphous running. I just bought a 2010 Elite for my wife. She doesn't know it yet, she will find out on Christmas. What a great little performer it is for only 110cc. I think I told you before I have a Helix and a Morphous. I love the Helix but when I ride the Morphous you can feel the difference in technology. It is such a fun bike to ride. My BMWs are collecting dust because I ride the scooters more often. Thanks again for your videos.
Great set of videos. Ive been a fan of you videos for a while. This is exactly the same as my bike and you're doing everything i need to do on my elite. My 1985 red 250 also has only 11,000 miles but is not quite as nice as yours. Thank You for the roadmap and the inspiration to fix up my elite 250 a bit.
Good work. Tip:Chang the final drive oil. Add some Marvel mystery oil after the oil is drained and spin the tire by hand it’ll help clean out a lot of that junk that’s stuck in there.
I had my 85 Elite 250 since new in 86 as a left over, almost 17k on it. Replaced a lot of parts at 10k, but need to dive back in as things are not as smooth again, has not been on road in 7 years and before 2011, it was off the road since 1995, Its been to every state in New England and needs some bearing replacements and maybe top end on motor now. Did Dr. Pulley with grease years ago, but took it back apart and cleaned it out after 100 miles, variator and clutch was replaced in 2012 so that is all good still... again was only 15 years old when i got this bike, now 51. Have every option Honda offered for it except the carpet floor mats and still in mint shape for 16K on the clock. I follow this guys 3 rules... Safety 1st, get it to run like new, then detail it pretty. LOL
Thanks for the great comments!!! I do have still more to do on the Elite 250. I'm not satisfied with it yet! More to come with that bike for sure! I only have the carpets as you know. I really like them! I paid high bucks for them but that's what happens when it's supply and demand. I have seen some rear tote boxes but in lousy condition. And even those are expensive! I'm already way over budget on that bike but that's alright. Having a blast! I'm right there with ya at age! Buying the things I didn't have as a kid and sharing videos has been fun for me! See ya soon Shaun with more videos!!!!🙂
Great video! I'm sure that I'm not the only one who would be interested in a follow up video showing how that Chinese clutch is holding up. Also where is that place in Michigan that resurfaces the weight arms? Was it JW Parts Plus? The contact form on their website is broken and their FaceBook page hasn't been updated since '19, and had several complaints about slow turnaround. They do have an eBay site.
As I mentioned in my comeback video, the Elite 250 basically sat for a while when I stopped making videos. The mileage on it isn't much to give a good read on the clutch. As far as JW parts plus? They did a great job on my Elite 125 clutch, but that was years ago. Their customer practices back then were excellent! I have no idea how they are now.
JUst found your chanel today, very good stuff here, I just picked up a 95 Helix with 900mi on it, it was never used,,,,,this is my first honda scooter, I usually work on chinese gy6, this should be a nice upgrade,,,Do you think these older elites and helixs are as good as say a newer reflex or a forza? The helix is like driving a sofa, cadaliac comfy,,, You can go wrong with Honda
Hello and welcome to my channel!!! The Helix is my next project. It's the same engine as the Elite 250 I'm told. I haven't dove into the Helix yet though. I'm not a fan of the Forza. It was built with a small person in mind. I'm only 5'11 and I wanted to get off it after a very short ride. I was very cramped on it. You won't see one of those in my garage. The Reflex I've never ridden on. Maybe one day if the price is right. Same as the Silverwing.. Maybe one day. I have 3 beutiful bikes with the Morphous, Elite 250 and Helix. I think the Morphous will be very valuable one day since it was such a low production number in the states.
@@thedaydreamer7972 The Morphous is extremely well made! Yamaha put a lot into that bike for sure! That bike is a star when I ride it. It is such an attention getter! That bike is Cadillac of scooters for sure!
I second this! I've seen many who say that PCX 125/150 shocks fit, but when I go to buy them there seems to be at least 2 different PCX groups using different shocks. When I'm spending $100 before shipping I want to be sure they will fit.
@Dave.O Hear you go Dave. These are the shocks that will work. Use the eye and bushing from the original Elite 250 shock. www.hondapartsnation.com/oemparts/a/hon/5053e466f870021c54be20fe/rear-shock-absorber

You’re the man
Great work Sir. You should motovlog too. I think you’d have a good following especially with these old bikes. Zero content out there.
Maybe in the future! 🙂

@@rubytheelite yea, that Morphous is neat looking, how do you like it compared to the Hondas?

Can you add a description to each of these resto videos that lists the parts and numbers you used? Specifically the shocks. Thanks

There is no source besides Ebay.

Yes, a Chinese clutch....Ugh....It looks really nice though.
Would you like to buy my 84 elite 125ci?
