Hey Beau could you please help me out with some boating advice for Stanage? We’re heading up there next week in a 5m plate al and it’s probsbly gonna be blowing 15knots. Is that too hectic to get out to the islands (Hexham etc)?
the1andonlypjsupreme hey mate yeah hexam might be a bit hectic in 15 knots but there is a fair bit of protection around a lot of the islands as they are quite large in size, I’ve fished it once during winter in 10-15 knot winds and we just stayed around some of the closer islands throwing surface lures and we got a few fish still
Awesome mate cheers that’s good to know (it’s our first trip up there). I’ll draw up a plan B to stick close to Quail Is, not sure where to go but it’s all trial and error hey. By the way, how’s the fishing up there normally in winter (both offshore and inshore)? It’s hard to find info of people fishing it in winter which makes me think we’re going at a shit time.
the1andonlypjsupreme when I was there in winter we still got some big Queenies, GT’s, coral trout and some other bits and pieces and we had only ever fished it once before that so we didn’t have much idea where to fish so we just kept it simple and fished the pressure edges and structure, but you will still get plenty of fish there during winter just need to find them
Hey man any chance of a boat walkthrough? Oils be interesting to see how it’s all setup and what not
JAI yeah mate for sure.. I’ll do up a little clip
