Yes you’re allowed but you should always check the policy as the rules may change. www.dpi.nsw.gov.au/fishing/recreational/fishing-rules-and-regs/perm-prohib-saltwater For example the blue swimmer crab size limit has changed recently this year
Thanks for clarifying. I might do this again after the lockdown. I have been crabbing in hawkesbury but last year and the year before was not been good. Get catch mate!
Great content, I subbed! What kayak specs do you have? I’m looking at buying a kayak for open ocean fishing/trolling. Would you say your kayak is capable of that?
Thanks for dropping by! I have the 2019 Hobie Outback. It's capable of open ocean fishing and trolling but you still have to check the weather conditions to make sure you can fish safely. Installing Hobie AMAs are an option but I haven't done enough open ocean fishing to this date, just mainly harbour fishing. BTW boat wake in the harbour/river can reach up to 1.5m, so while on the kayak you just need to be aware and point the nose into the wake.
Nice! I was keen to go crabbing in kayak. BTW, did you realise that you had your bucket in the water? That would create a lot of drag! LOL Anyway, nice setup you have! I'm waiting for Revo 13 to come out in new style... ;P
Yea I initially kept the smaller legal crabs in the bucket and then moved them into the net. It would be better to keep them in a livewell as I've had a few instances where they have managed to get out of the net lol. Good luck.
@@bradleyseeto Were you OK at the Kangaroo Point? Current is really fast there. Let me know when you go crabbing again. I should learn from the master! LOL
Do you check to see if they are females with eggs????? I didn’t see you do that!!! Btw I have lived my whole life on the river throw the females with eggs back in the river PLEASE!
I do check and these are all male crabs, it's easy to tell the difference without even looking at their flap. Legally in NSW you can keep female crabs except when they have eggs, but I throw all females back regardless.
Super informative, cheers mate!
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for the video mate 👍👌😀
No problem 👍
Nice video mate !
Thanks!
Hey Mate great catch.. correct me if wrong... are we allowed to use 2 crab trap+ witches hats in NSW?

A mask on the water are you normal ?
I get burnt from the Australian Sun easily, so to me covering up makes perfect sense when you forget the sunscreen.
Haha
