- Headed back to the hawkesbury for the first time in 8 months, chasing jewfish and flathead lure fishing. I also made my way to pittwater for the first time in my life an had a flick around there. Had a great day hopefully u enjoy the episode as much as i did making it.

Pittwater is an underrated system. Can throw up some big fish and a good variety of fish. Great video
All i want to do is get back there but this weather doesnt wana play. Hopefully the weekend is less windy and less rain than the last 2 months.
@@Lowysfishing I was there last weekend, had 2 30cm hood squid off the flats. But the wind blew up shortly after

Was this yesterday i was their as well and absolutely clean up my mate and i caught and released 30+ good bream multiple flatheads, 15 squid it was a crazy day. Another top video keep then up.

Yer its awesome there mate great place to explore an look around an definitely holds some big jewys. Cant wait to find some good ground just need to put some time into it as i have other places. Id love to get onto a real big 1 🤞

I though i was on just got there had them busting up then bang another safety check. At least i got 1 of them then they wer gone. Esky next time an il keep those jackets if i get any.

@Lowysfishing , I did a camp for 4 days on the hawkesbury a few years back ... was an awesome few days , by memory we caught plenty of flathead

Its been a bit quiet at Tuross heads but i did get a 72cm flathead the other day and I tries trolling for some Bonito yesterday and bagged out in 2 hours was so much fun and it was my first try at it.
Not sure what i will be doing for the rest of my holidays as im having trouble finding camping grounds in your area.

Hey mate, the rod an reel is used mostly in my videos is a shimano twin power 3000 with 10lb braid an 15lb leader. Im using a jackall bpm 7,3 spin rod rated 4-10lb. The transams are 20gram which i mostly throw, an in that deeper water 25-40 ft i use a 5/8 jighead 5/0 hook and will usually cast 4-5 inch plastics. Both paddle tails and grubs. I like the Jackall rythm wave paddle tails and zman 4 inch paddle tails as well as 4 inch grubs from zman. I find most colours will work ok if the fish are around 👍

Mostly catch an release mate i cant b bothered to clean them up. Next episode i do however keep a feed for easter for some family members(who have to clean the fish up) so its rare but occasionally i do keep some. Thanks for watching Matty happy Easter 👍

Thanks stevo was a top day out there had a ball looking all around the place. Catching some fish was a bonus and the flatty topped it all off. Yer most likely over 80 it was long an fat, i would've got the matt out if it was a giant 👍

Hey Frank. I was using a daiwa bait junkie jighead in 5/8 oz 5/0 an a zman diezel minnow 4 inch in motor oil colour. The technique was just cast to the edge let it sink to the bottom and then just hop it up off the bottom and then wind up the slack then let it sink back to the bottom again all the way back to the boat. The vibe was a 20gram jackall transam in pink eye colour, same technique as the plastic mate 👍
What depths water you fishing mate?
@@TbT93er between 25 an 40 ft mate. I find alot of fish in that range in alot of the waterways i fish so i try to stick to that.

According to google maps old one is Hawkesbury River bridge and new one is Peats Ferry bridge.

Andrew do you ever use bait
Years ago now mate since ive bait fished. Its been the best part of 20 years or more lure fishing. In my younger days i did stacks of bait fishing. Might have to give it another go here and there 👍
Don`t you love no frills fishing that every one can do.. Proving you don`t need to spend big to catch nd enjoy a days fishing
Nothing better than a day on the water mate just throwing some lures about an catching a few fish aswell 👍
