For the second time on the channel, we are checking out Rodney Dangerfield on The Johnny Carson Tonight Show in 1974 with Dom LeLuise. Rodney just exudes comedy in everything he does, and the back and forth banter between him and Johnny Carson makes this even more hilarious! I love his comedic genius with the way he sets up a joke and his timing is perfect! Let me know what I should check out next from him! Hope you enjoy! #reaction #rodneydangerfield #comedy #johnnycarson #standupcomedy #comedyreaction

Love the back and forth with Rodney Dangerfield and Johnny Carson! Comedic gold!! 🤣
Nothing like The Tonight Show with Johnny. Pure entertainment, unlike what you get late night these days.
Thanks for reminding me why those of us who grew up in Gen X are "different". This around 14 to 18 changes you. You know, but you don't "know", but you learn. And sadly, I'm probably far sharper than my son who didn't grow up with this. Good to see you get it.
Johnny Carson was the true King of Late Night. He was the kind of guy that would set anyone up to slam dunk the punchline, even if it made him the butt of the joke. He was selfless and his timing was impeccable. Check out more Johnny Carson. Watch some of his videos with animals, too. They are great.
All of Dangerfield's appearances are worth seeing, especially on Carson. One of Johnny's hardest breakups, Rodney got to the end of his prepared material and said, "I don't know, bring out the next guy." I thought Johnny was going to bust a seam laughing.
Yeah, Rodney always kept adjusting his tie, when he wore one.
🇬🇧
Dom DeLuise is sitting right next to Rodney. 😂❤
Back in the day when we had the late night shows… We all saw firsthand the talents of Rodney Dangerfield… He played nightclubs and things like that and was always sold out funny funny man😄
Rodney caused me to have one of those deep, uncontrollable, and non-stop belly laughs. Memorable.
One to check for sure is Every single line of Rodney Dangerfield in Caddyshack
Dom DeLuise, another great comedian of the time great rabbit hole to go down when you get to my opportunity to do so funny, funny, funny
Dom Deluise, was a comedic actor, that started on the Dean Martin show in the 1960,s,and was in a lot of Burt Reynolds films in the 1970,s
My favorites were Johnny's jokes bombed he was funniest trying to get out of the embarrassing situation
All right my brother Stephen.....If there were any other comedians to go up against Rodney Dangerfield with a battle of wits, they'd be unarmed. Daingerfield is undefeated ‼️💯🔥😆😅😂🤣😁👍🏼
Johnny was always good at setting up comedians for the joke when they would come over to the couch.
Carson was hands down, the best talk show host EVER….IMHO
Everyone since is a poor imitation.
Johnny Carson was great. The first ten years of his hosting the Tonight Show was in New York, then he moved it to LA for twenty years. For the first 15 years of the show it was 90 minutes a night then it was an hour until he retired after 30 years.
He was the ultimate comic perfect timing and set up and punch lines. He would run circles around current comics.
johnny Carson was the greatest. He would let his guests shine when he interviewed them. He would let all his guests be together on stage and they often fed off each other to make the interviews even more interesting.
Johnny could make a comic in those times. When he gave them the nod after their stand-up to come over to the couch, that was the Carson approval, which could really boost a career 👍
Another guest that you might want to check on, with Johnny. Jimmy Stewart is one of the most respected actors of all time. He had some of the most wonderful appearances with Johnny. One that I go back to about once a year, has Jimmy reciting a poem he wrote about his recently deceased dog, Beau. Jimmy had a problem with stuttering. At least what I saw of him, late in life, it never caused any issues. It just became part of his personality.
Dom Deluise and Johnny were also Comedians. Both great and legacy fellas themselves.
I love watching all the old guys my dads fav Red Skeleton, Redd Fox, Johnathan Winters, Dom De Louis, George Carlin n Robin Williams and this guy lol dad liked Chevy Chase n john Belushi too
I grew up hoping my folks would let me stay up late to watch Johnny Carson. Later I liked David Letterman and Arsenio Hall, but Carson was the absolute Man. Letterman's stand up and bits were great but he sucked as an interviewer. Hall was the opposite with really weak stand up but a brilliant interviewer asking unexpected questions about things I realized, once he asked, that I would really like to know the answers to. But Carson was the best at bringing both worlds ... interview and comedy. Carson retired from public performances but he continued to write material for other comics, one of them being Letterman. On Letterman's first show after Carson died, he did his usual opening monologue and it killed. Then he told the audience that the entire thing had been written by Carson. I bawled like a great big baby. (I tried to find it on RUclips but no search brought it up.)
Let's Gooo! Johnny's show was the best. Always hilarious 😂 Great reaction and Peace out Steven 🙏 ☮️ ✌️
@@RockinMamaT Thanks so much! Hope all is well! 🤘🏻😁
@setonhillstudios Yes thanks I've just been crazy busy and now catching up 😆
@@RockinMamaT I hear ya! Been busy lately for sure! 😁
From what I have heard about his approach was that he would write every day and accumulate his finished jokes on notecards. Each joke to it's own card. He would then file these cards. For each show he would then go through the cards to pick the jokes and their order. He was a rehearsal fanatic; his onstage persona is just an amplification of his normal nervous attitude.
Rodney was hilarious always. Dom was real cool as well❤❤❤❤❤❤
Johnny Carson was the goat! I loved when I could stay up late with my grandparents and watch Johnny. I don’t know if it been asked for but, I hope sometime you might react to Neil Young and Crazy Horse- Cortez the Killer.
Rodney Dangerfield played in a movie called Back to school, you should watch
Best scene ever was his interaction with history professor Turgeson (Sam Kinison).
And, don't forget Caddy Shack
Dom DeLuise is the actor in Blazing Saddles who portrayed the choreographer who told Slim Pickens, who was about to punch him, "Not in the face!".
Rodney Dangerfield started his OWN comedy club in New York called "Dangerfields" ... he had everything from rookies to pros ... and if you were lucky, you would see him live
The routine he reacted to of Sam Kinison was from Dangerfield's. I need to find the episode with Roseanne Barr's first TV appearance. It was so funny... about the time Elizabeth Taylor almost choked to death on a chicken bone. Yes, of course that was in the skit!
Rodney was the real deal. And we miss him. Legend!!!😂😂🔥👍✊✌️
What you should listen to is an audio of Johnny Carson toasting Don Rickles at the N.Y Friars Roast in the late 60's. Whew, the set up is perfect and then he lays into him. The clip is in RUclips (Johnny Carson roasts Don Rickles)
King of the one Liners, and his movements r part of his Act
Easy Money is prob my fav Rodney movie. But they're all good. Caddy Shack is right up there too. Hilarious!
I don’t think I’ve ever seen Easy Money! I have to watch that now! Thanks Stosh!
@@setonhillstudios Joe Pesci is his co star. And he's hilarious too. But maybe a movie you don't want your kids seeing - Idk. Just a heads up, they smoke " a little" pot in the movie. 😁😁
So many good comedians got their first big break by appearing on The Tonight Show.
he wrote his OWN autobiography !! ... (i believe its out of print now) ... you can still get a copy on EBAY !! ... its worth a few bucks
Watch the movies caddyshack, Back to school, and easy money. Rodney stars in all three.
Oh my goodness..Back to school...
Dom DeLuise was an actor from the 70s - hes the one wearing a brown suit
👍🏻👍🏻💯❤️❤️❤️❤️awesome 👏👏👏👏🤣🤣🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🤣
Gotta check out his music video from 1984 called Rappin' Rodney! Hilarious! Also, the "executioner" is played by Pat Benatar!
Dom Deluise was hysterical. My favorite movie of his is Best Little Whorehouse in Texas.
You should react to Johnny’s character Carnac The Magnificent
this may or may not be the right format ... but "chat music" is the FUNNIEST thing ive heard in YEARS !! .... i think you should hear it
Chat music?! I’ll have to look into that! Never heard of it! 🤔
@@setonhillstudios its a "Snow White" parody song - i dont know who sings it
@@markhellman-pn3hn Oh boy! 🤣
HEY MAN, YOU LIKE RODNEY, THEN YOU ABSOLUTELY HALF TOO WATCH HIM IN A GREAT UNDERRATED REALLY FUNNY MOVIE "EASY MONEY ", SHOWS HIS GREAT COMEDIC TALENT, A MUST SEE SIR 😅🤣😂
Unlike the late shows today Carson and Leno stayed clear of politics. That was the great thing about Craig Ferguson. He stayed clear of politics and he just entertained.
OH! Before I forget! Steven.... if you want to see something from the Carson/Tonight show that will actually BLOW your mind.... look up Jeff Dunham's first appearance on there. No spoilers, but it REALLY displays the level of talent he had, even back then!
Johnny Carson was funny in his own right, the Tonight Show was something back then. Nothing like it today. Johnny would do his own skits with his guests on the show which were hilarious. He had all kinds of different acts on his show. He had animals on his show which were always funny but mostly because Johnny made it funny or funnier than it would have been. He had regular everyday people on his show too. The one with the 90+ year old farmer on it is hilarious! He had the potato chip lady on too who had potato chips that she collected because they looked like people or animals and Johnny made it all the more funny. He could just give a look or a pause and it was funny, he had great timing. He loved comedians and had a lot of old and newbies on his show. He made some newbies famous by just having them on his show. He loved Rodney Dangerfield and had him on a lot. Dom DeLuise was also hilarious and he was in some old movies in the 60’s like The Glass Bottom Boat with Doris Day and Rod Taylor. Dom had his own tv show in the 70’s called Lotsa Luck, he also had a show with his name as the title, he guessed starred on everything back in the day it seemed, he was also in the Smokey and the Bandit movies number 2 and 3 I believe. I think he was in the movie The Great Race which was full of comedy legends and actors. These guys were all great! You just don’t see this level of entertainment and fun these days. Rodney Dangerfield was also in the movie Caddyshack. You really need to watch the old Johnny Carson Tonight Show, there’s a Johnny Carson channel on Roku I believe?❤
Jonathon Winters is another must see comedian!
Steven, Dom DeLouise was a comedic actor who could pull off "straight man" if needed, but STILL be hilarious at it. He was a laugh riot in both Cannonball Run movies (which I recommend, as both had a massive all star cast).
Given how funny Rodney Dangerfield was, it's no wonder DeLouise was rolling.
Aside from both of those guys, you should also look up Richard Pryor's movies. Don't know if you have time, but if you do, make a second channel for movie reactions, and start with those three comedic geniuses.
Dom Delouis was right next to Rodney. I only got a quick glimpse of the guy next to Dom, but I think he might have been Rich Little. He would be fun to see you react to.
Rodney was the best. Check out every tonight show appearance.
You don't have.
To have us recommend other Rodney Dangerfield videos. You can just go to the Rodney Dangerfield RUclips channel. But in lieu of doing that I recommend one of many Rodney Dangerfield with Johnny Carson show videos. Each and every one of them is just as good as the other. Rodney Dangerfield was one of the characters that was so regular on Johnny Carson. He was in the top 5% of celebrities that came Johnny show. Rodney was on Johnny's show 35 times in his illustrious career.
Rodney also had his own night club in California called 'Dangerfields'. Check out his movies.
I know for a fact that dom deliues acts with Bert Reynolds in the two cannon ball run movies
They have a 24hr Tonight Show with Carson on Pluto TV!
My favorite Dangerfield joke is "If it weren't for pickpockets, I have no sex life at all."
🤣😂🤣
I don't know if you watch Mel Brooks movies, but in Blazing Saddles Dom DeLuise was the director on the movie set with the top hat and tails act, and was the "Godfather" imitator in Robin Hood Men in Tights.
You've got to see the movie "Caddyshack" with Rodney Dangerfield, it's hilarious!
If you've seen a Mel Brooks movie, you know Dom
Rodney Dangerfield and Don Rickles are my 2 favorite stand up comedians. Please check out MICHAEL MCINTYRE doing his bit, PEOPLE WITHOUT KIDS JUST DONT GET IT. He is hilarious!!! I believe you have a kid or kids so you'll find it hilarious too. The clip runs 7:42.
Charlie Chaplin is the name of the guy in the photograph, famous for comic acting especially in the silent film era.
Watch the movie Back to School. Rodney stars and one of his professors is Sam Kinison. And as far as Dom Deluise he played in a good many movies also.
Dom was mainly a comedic actor in a lot of movies. Rodney also did a rap song called Rappin’ Rodney No Respect. I’ll say it again Steven, Brian Regan needs some reactions. The Emergency Room, The Eye Doctor, and I Walked On The Moon are all from the same set. The whole thing is great but you can find them individually if it’s not fees-able to do a whole set.
Rodney was in 2 movies I know of Backtick School and Ladybug
Dom DeLuise was in 1981 movie 'The Cannonball Run' with Burt Reynolds, Farrah Fawcett, Dean Martin ruclips.net/video/xnWGYn-zXAc/видео.html
If you really want to see Johnny Carson lose it, you have to watch his shows with Robin Williams. Williams had Johnny falling out of his chair - especially his 1987 appearance to promote "Good Morning Vietnam".
You should watch the Tonight show when Robin Williams and Jonathan Winters were on together.
You need to check out Abbott and Costello “Who’s on First”
It’s on the channel! Hilarious! 🤣
Johnny Carson was THE king of late night. To the comedians that were on the show he was a great straight man, even if the joke was about him. The best straight man for Carson, was his sidekick Ed McMahon. Find some of the old tonight show, you won't be disappointed. One of Carson's better characters was Carnac the Magnificent. 1000% entertainment the late night guys of today can't touch.
Dig, friend.
Peace on earth.
MUST SEE - Rodney Dangerfield in 1973 Miller Lite Beer commercial:

The three funniest comedians to me were Rodney Dangerfield, Phyllis Diller and Joan Rivers...
Probably not appropriate for the format of the channel, but you should check out some of his movies like National Lampoon's Caddy shack or his movies like Back to school with Sam Kinison, or Easy money with Joe Pesci.... 😉
Charlie Chaplin, one of the biggest silent film stars of all time.
Thanks for the insight! I’ve heard his name but not familiar with his work! Appreciate you watching! 😁
Jackie Martling is great his delivery is a million jokes a minute you'll be laughing at one and he's already told three more but he's too blue for RUclips
👍
here's the thing most people don't realize about comedians, when you start laughing with the crowd doing your act, that's essentially a death sentence on your career because it tells the audience you're unprofessional so it isn't so much as it is difficult to deliver punchlines or even setups, it's being stone faced and completely in control while telling jokes.
Sammy Allred of the famous Geezinlaw Brothers telling Ralph Emery and audience the funny bird joke!! ruclips.net/video/Wq3jKjTIPd4/видео.html
Johnny is awesome but I really like Letterman
Watch Robin Williams on The Tonight Show
I believe he retired from comedy for like 30 years, went became a plastic windows salesman, then returned later in life. The tie straighting I believe is before or after he stopped drinking coke let's say 🎉🎉🎉
I get no respect I tell you I get no respect.
Dom DeLuise
was the doc in Smokey and the Bandit II, the dance director in Blazing Saddles.
And Spaceballs another Mel Brooks movie
And dozens of others...
🤠🐂
Dom DeLuise was NEVER in Spaceballs ... (i think your thinking of John Candy) ??
@markhellman-pn3hn I thought he was Pizza The Hut? And I thought John Candy was Barf?
Don't know, it's been a couple decades since I seen it.
You don’t know who Dom is!!!
Nope! 🤷🏻♂️😂
@@setonhillstudios You poor child.
@@coletedeux 🤣😂
Johnny could make or break a guest, and everyone knew it. I never found him funny as a comedian though.
Did he do stand up as well?!
