I miss the car, sold it during Covid and made a ton of money on it. 😊 Looking to turbo my C8 next.
They’re both EXTREMELY close in terms of performance. Both cars have their advantages & both are deliver the most fun / bang for your buck in their perspective categories
For me and my husband , E-Ray is much better , I use the front engine go to work to save gas instead of buying a boring Tesla , meanwhile when I want to show off over my friends to drive them , I use the powered gas engine so I can floor it to 100 MPH using the eAWD tech
The z06 looks better. The exhaust layout needs to be in the center. It makes all the difference. But the Eray starts at 106K and the z06 even more. If all you’re wanting is speed and fun, you can’t beat a model s plaid for 80k brand new. It’ll completely demolish both of these cars on the street and on the highway, starting from a stop or at any speed and you won’t need to say to the other person, let me get in gear first 😂
My best friend has a plaid and I agree on the speed…. But it’s boring fast. The sounds the Z06 makes is glorious. He has a rapid blue Z06 and daily driver plaid
@@dbmracing2019 not sure what boring fast means. It just sounds like you like sounds more than you like speed. And the speed difference is pretty significant between them. I own a zl1 that’s modded and well faster than a stock z06 but it’s scary to go the limit wherever and whenever I want to in it, so that’s boring. Really hard decision...and may I congratulate Chevy for making such a hard decision by having such amazing choices? I want the Z for the exotic sound and my guess is likely a better longer term resale value. I want the Z for the better overall performance at the occasional track day (but fairly unlikely for me). The stock wheels are so much better on the Z as well. I want the eray for the insane torque, better overall street/highway driving speed/comfort, carbon ceramic brakes coming STANDARD, and no stupid rear vents that let dirt and water into the engine compartment like it does on the Z. Lastly, I like the pricing on the eray better -- currently in the GM configurator, the eray is $20k less. Is the eray a better street car? My gut says yes. WIth that said, is the Z a more exciting and visceral overall experience? My gut says yes. Also, will the Z hold it's value better in the long run? Will that $20k in savings get eaten up with higher depreciation on the eray? My gut also tells me yes...and that the Z will be the more sought after car over the years, with that NA flat plane crank masterpiece. TOUGH DECISION!

Also, I wonder if GM is even going to make the Zora.... The ZR1 has the horsepower that the early estimates said that the Zora would have, so there's been a bit of a disconnect with the early prognostications about the ZR1.
We definitely need the AWD...
@@ghidorahthetruealpha6198It's actually going to be even "worse" for the ZR1 bc those turbos are going to provide for a bunch more mid-range torque than the Z06 has, but I personally think that's a fun problem to have.
And I'm not a GM exec, but from what I've seen they're definitely doing the Zora. There was an extended interview with some of the engineers who worked on the ZR1 and in that interview they said when people saw certain design aspects of the Z06 they thought they were a curious decision, but that's bc they didn't realize they had been made with the later ZR1 in mind from the beginning. Then a few moments later the interviewer pointed out a "curious" design decision on the ZR1, and the engineer not-so-subtly confirmed that's what you'd do if you were planning to add the additional components from the E-Ray's electric drivetrain in the future 😉

With a very fast electric car, it’s like having a video game car in real life (not having the limitations you have to deal with in real life with a very fast non electric car).
@@godsaveamerica2611 I’ve driven the plaid plenty and yes it’s fast. VERY FAST…….. but I get bored by just speed quickly.
