AEW is ran like a company looking to fold. No growth. Horrible management. Lack of business. And alienating their employees, especially due to favoritism
*The term "Money Mark" has NEVER been as clear.
Tony is not running AEW as business and as long as his Dad and WBD is providing him with money he is not going to change. The fact that he did not get what he wanted with WBD picking of ROH should of been a sign to Tony that he needs to tighten up. Remember Turner cancel and sold WCW and it was doing much better than AEW is doing in the ratings and drawing in home base region.

Working in AEW must feel like being paid a $hit load to live on a deserted island were its boring asf, there's nothing to do and every week there's 5 visitors.

the reason why AEW Dynasty had poor ticket sales was because Tony Khan didn't put a single storyline behind any of the matches.
Everyone knew that Danielson vs Ospreay was going to be great but Tony Khan didn't give anyone a reason to care to watch.
To them and that fanbase, the story is the match. It's insane.
Whatever happens in the match is the whole story and that's it

Tony just needs to be realistic about the current status of the company and book venues accordingly. There’s nothing wrong with selling 3000 tickets to a show unless you’re booking 10,000 seat venues.

He worked in thr WWF booking team and that wasn't a fail at all, he developed so many different talents in his time in the business and helped so many guys. You haven't seen the video where he is teaching Kane how to do the sit up properly like Undertaker for example? He never failed at being a manager, he is one of thr best managers in the history wrestling. His podcast is not a fail, it is the most successful wrestling podcast around and there seems to be tons of competition. I don't see where he has ever failed at anything in the wrestling business. You need to re check his credentials I think lol
But regardless of what he has done or hasn't done, what he says on his podcasts rings completely true with the majority of wrestling fans which is why he has the most popular podcast around. There is only a small number of people who disagree with what he says and they are usually the mentally retarded kind of wrestling fan who enjoys Orange Cassidy matches for example. You might be an exception but it's usually the Orange Cassidy fan / neckbeard type of fan who disagrees with Jim about pro wrestling.

People complain about the lack of stories in AEW. When Tony tries to tell a story he drives fans away. It looks like a lot of fans left with Punk. It's going to be hard for Tony to win those people back. The Jack Perry "scapegoat" storyline is only going to push the Punk/AEW fans even further away. He's only appealing to a shrinking hardcore base.
Their biggest non Punk chance was the Hangman/Omega storyline.. For some reason, Tony grants Hangman maternity ahead of the match leading to the moment happening later but the casual fans didn't care anymore

I think Tony Khan knows that AEW are in trouble. AEW being able to talk to other companies has one been negative around it: WBD didn't offer them a good enough deal.
Yep. WWE announced the Netflix deal a year in advance. Tony hasn’t said shit about a new deal. If it was a great deal he’d probably never stop talking about it.

The college hockey team of my alma mater in Nebraska seems to draw more people than an AEW show lol.
D2 football draws more and I wonder should WBD just go after rights to D2 sports rather than AEW. It come in at a cheaper cost and make more money for them.

@@andrewseberg5214 Operative word is "believe." I just looked up that college. It looks like they've only done 40 hockey games in the last year. Can't really compare them to a wrestling company that does around 3x as many shows. Scarcity of shows = higher attendance.

Fox is paying WWE too much money relative to the ratings. SDL's ratings are lower than initial expectations. AEWs are higher.

If I was aew I would give tickets away to fill the arena. Tony obviously doesnt need the $$$ now. The optics of empty areas is doing more damage than the tickets would bring long run.
I think they had been doing that for years. I believe that’s why they report tickets distributed. Tics sold + given out free. If the demand is weak from the general public you can give out tickets and people will still not attend

Dirty Q-Tip Tony has no clue. They came to my hometown last weekend. More than 70% of the arena was empty. heard this from a friend of mine.. They could offer free tickets and I wouldnt go watch that shit show. Garbage matches, no storytelling what-so-ever. Besides MJF & a few ex WWE talents.. they are not good

You can see why Warner insisted Tony Kahn add more PPVs. It's the only bright spot in the company and they know he needs defined targets to work toward.
Tony Khan has no proper storylines to attract more fans. They got Jack Perry back who's only interesting because of CM Punk, who's not even there anymore. It will always be a reminder of Tony's biggest failure. Plus, he ruins his wrestlers by making them go after WWE and looking like children. His fans make AEW look even worse by- well being themselves: cringe, toxic, insufferable, delusional, ignorant etc etc.

I think Konnan has things backwards around 3:00 in - if someone who worked for me was late to work on their first couple of days, they’re getting the boot. If they’ve been around for a while and have proved their worth, then I’ll be more accommodating if they are late on occasion

No, Bushiroad owns 85% of NJPW, TV Asahi owns 10% and another Japanese firm owns the remaining 5%. NJPW streams some AEW content with Japanese commentary on their streaming service NJPW World, so I'm guessing AEW would reciprocate by streaming select English-language NJPW shows or specific matches.

Being on a streaming service would be way better then being on the sinking ship that is cable TV. You'll basically will be cutting your viewerbase under the age of 28 off by being on cable.
I feel like if WB backs out. I feel like if aew wants to be on a streaming deal. Their only option (if they want to big streaming platform) is possibly paramount plus. WWE has relationships with peacock, Netflix, and hulu. They could choose Amazon Prime, but i feel like aew might still try to be on cable

Someone said their ticket prices start off comparable to WWE’s then slowly go down as the event gets closer. They couldn’t even sell out their last ppv that’s not good. Everyone knows their tv is crap and I could see people not wanting to sit through that. But the ppv had several huge matches, capacity was 10,500 they only had 6,500.
Whoever said that is wrong. Not only have WWE ticket sales gone up, the actual prices for WWE tickets haven risen too.

Capacity for basketball is different from capacity for wrestling. Basketball doesn't have huge jumbrotrons or stage entrances.

Alot of the Aew fans left when punk went to wwe. The storytelling in Aew is non existent and the talent roster is paper thin. Rey Mysterio Jr is a bigger draw than almost half of the Aew roster.
