I have subscribed to your channel and am learning about this plant. Seems that for tropical plants, it has to be one of the most resilient ones that exist! I'm making a purchase tonight from Etsy where a seller is selling 4 different colored ones in a lot for $29.95. It'll take about 2-3 weeks for them to get here in Lake Charles, LA. We're not as warm in the winter as you are there in FL on the west central coast, but the rest of the year is similar. I'll have them in terra cotta pots so they can be scooted to a nearby fluorescent light lit room should the nighttime temp's get in the 30s. We really only have about a month more of cold weather here and things should start warming up, as we - like you - have an early spring. I can't wait to get them and for springtime. Enjoy your good info and happy planting!
This coming winter I plan on snipping the tips off of all my Plumerias when they start to lose their leaves. Eventually I'm hoping to be able to make multiple canopies around the yard made of pure color😂😂
I was given a Plumeria plant that is basically a stick. It is now getting leaves at the top. Everything I see talks about trimming "above the junction" but on mine there is no junction! Where do I trim it? I do know I will have to wait until winter now to do this, and to sterilize my cutters before using them.
When is the best time to make cuttings? It’s been tricky here in central Texas as I got mine planted outside (from the garage storage) late April and most of them are pretty leggy. Now it’s been near or low 100s for nearly 2 weeks, and no end of this heat in sight. Is this too hot now to take cuttings! I don’t want them to be stressed.
So you just cut where you want it to sprout extra branches and cover the wound with tape? When is the best time to cut? Growing season or when dormant?
Cut in the spring. I use liquid electrical tape to cover the wound, only because we get a lot of rain here in Florida. Where you cut, you will get two to three new branches within 6 weeks.
I just subscribed. Could youi please tell me how exactly did you seal them step by step after cutting? I am in Greece. It's difficult to get any information here. Thank you very much
Thank you! When the sap stop dripping, I use a few different options. During our rainy season I use liquid electric tape. I buy from our hardware store. If it's During our dry season, I just dust them with regular cinnamon. I hope this helps. Thanks for watching!
I am in zone 9b. Central Florida. The bottom two branches I cut in February. The third branch I cut in March. And the fourth I cut about two weeks ago. 🙂
?????Ma'm I have yet planted plumeria cutting in rainy season (India ) and it is of near 20 cm can you tell me that when I should cut it from tip to make it bushier??????
It protects the open cut from getting wet and bacteria getting into the plant. I like to use cinnamon, just gotta keep it dry until cures. Cinnamon is a natural fungicide and can even help the plant if you sprinkle it in your soil. With cinnamon it will certainly branch out underneath too.
@@terrymd3293 I am in a Plumeria group on fb. One of the members said they used it, so I tried it. I used to use wood glue but it took to long to cure. And wood sink down as the cut dried out.
@@plumielove I sprinkle a little cinnamon into the soil when I re pot. Recently I was told that American cinnamon isn't as good as cinnamon brought abroad. Next chance I get, I'll get some from a international market store.

That's exactly what we did with ours. I'm currently rooting the branches that were cut off. It's amazing how resilient these plants are!!
I have cut of the last branch a month ago. This tree is now full and looks very healthy.
@@plumielove What do you feed your beautiful plumerias? I have mine in containers, as we live in Texas and do get down to freezing Temps in Winter.
do you have to have rooting hormones to help the cuttings?
Such a nice show, I subscribed to your channel because of the quality of this show
Thank You! I'm getting a cutting and can't wait!
a trick : you can watch series at flixzone. I've been using it for watching all kinds of movies during the lockdown.
@Byron Benicio Yup, have been using flixzone for months myself :D
@Byron Benicio Yup, been watching on flixzone for since november myself :D
That’s awesome!! Thank you!!

I have a plumeria plant. Looks like a stick. How to I get my plumeria to bloom?
Also I do I get my plumeria to branch out
They need full sun, 6 hours or more. Don't over water, they don't like setting in water, it kills them.

I just chop mine in the morning on a hot day and it dries right up and in a couple weeks I’ve got lots of new limbs
It depends on where you want to start new branches at. Where you make the cut 1 to 4 new branches will start growing. Usually 2 to three will grow.

Does your plumerias get sunburn sometimes??.
@@Redeleiser shockingly no!
Yes, and Rust. It doesn't hurt the plant.

Hi Jennie, Can you please tell me the time between cutting the bottom two branches and the video? Also what climate you are in? Thanks

I am having leaf drop on my plant,it's rainy season at my place, can i prune it for more shoots ?
I have a few that I have trimmed off a few days ago. We still have time to root cuttings here in Florida. I don't try to root past August.
Hi! Did you seal it right after cutting?
I wait one day.
I'm going to have to prune mine next spring. I would like to know how long it will take for these new branches to get inflows?
You never know. I have had inflows that same year, others none for three years.
I heard that if you cut them they won’t always grow back. How true is that because yours proves that totally wrong?
It depends on where you cut it. You need to leave at least 5 to 6 inches below the cut.

All those question marks (?) are not necessary
use cinnamon on cuts
Might be good to explain why u used electrical tape on end of cut branch......🤨🤨🤨😳

What fertilizer do you use?
Miracle grow, but I just ordered Excalibur from Florida Colors Plumeria Nursery I want to try.
