I want to get a new prominent race to be added to the Hylians, Shiekah, Zoras, Rito, Gorons, Deku and Gerudo. Since getting to dwell into "The Elder Scrolls" and reading about various "Dungeons and Dragons" inspired stories, I have been all over the Lizardmen trope and feel like the "Lizalfos" evolving beyond being simple enemies (like how Zoras started of like) and become their own cool unique civilized folk in Hyrule. If they are at it, they could do something similar with the Bokblins but I have had ideas for how there could be a cool underline story of how Ganons forces could potentially reside in some sort of dark kingdom where the inhabitants are forced to serve under him and we could have one or several characters secretly helping Link and Zelda to bring freedom back to their folk. Imagine some slender assassin of a Lizalfos mostly staying in the shadows and hiding their face under a hooded cloak revealing himself in front of the heroes and it's unsure at first if they can be trusted or not but then they become an active freedom fighter alongside Link and the other major representatives that wish to change the fate for their people.

These are some very good points you made for what the next open world Zelda game should be like. As someone who loves a good story, I wholeheartedly agree on the storytelling point you’ve made. If I may add to your list, I’d like to add return of certain items (hookshot, iron boots, special tunics to help brave elements. I know some of these have returned but I don’t want to survive the element (s) I’m in for a certain amount of time and not have to rely on food too much), the use of music on your quest (something I’m sure everyone would like as the music of the Zelda games is classic and was one of the things that attracted them to the games as a whole.), NO WEAPON BREAKAGE (nobody wants their weapons breaking on them in the middle of a battle. It’s embarrassing and potentially could leave link/you open to enemy attack. I know I don’t like weapons breaking on me.), and maybe having songs sung by the characters via quests and maybe making the game a musical (I can imagine Zelda singing something to help link on his quest and maybe link having to sing a cappella at first before he obtains the magic instrument (s) in question to help him with usage of the song (s) in battle and puzzles. Who knows? Maybe the instrument can turn into a weapon that you can use in battle and they WON’T break on you.). Perhaps even link and Zelda being made to work with a new ganondorf to stop a new evil and maybe as the story progresses, the solo songs would be powerful and sung by either party member and/or become duets and trios. The new ganondorf could even have a story arc where he not only redeems himself as a better ganondorf than his past reincarnations but one everyone can actually put trust in more. Heck, if Nintendo can’t do that, they should at least have a story on why the famous gerudo male born once a century came to be (I have an idea of it where the first ganondorf was noble and was forced to kill his own twin brother Deimos because of him betraying his own people and ganondorf having been forced to banish him because of deimos’s bad actions (spreading lies to get attention and the like along with thinking things that are not true). After Deimos dies, ganondorf and his queen, a sorceress named Fortuna, decreed that only one male gerudo can be born once a century in order to prevent brother killing brother from ever happening again. But that decree, as we saw in later Zelda games, had disastrous consequences.).
Speaking of a more better storytelling where past and present are integrated, a playable Princess Zelda would’ve hope the next game where we get to see multiple perspectives out of our two main characters (her and Link).
Well, we might be finally getting just that with Echoes of Wisdom now that Zelda has at last become playable so here's to hoping Nintendo will consider such an approach in the next major title.
Having several islands or parts of the map we can’t have access to until we’ve beaten a previous area of the map that can be freely explored like BotW could be the solution to fix the linear vs open debate.
I would love for Nintendo to dial back a bit on the open-world aspect and focus more on dungeon and puzzle design. While I enjoyed *Tears of the Kingdom*, I felt overwhelmed by the sheer amount of content. I believe they could have done a much better job with the dungeons. The time spent on creating the building system could have been used to develop more intricate and engaging dungeons. I hope Nintendo considers this for their next game!
We need a real sequel to BOTW. One set In a different land with big dungeons, cool new Zelda bosses, get rid of shrines and koroks, a new menacing villain and threatening plot, and a story taking place in the present. The Zelda team is capable of something better than tears of the kingdom.
I agree with the idea of quality over quantity. Koroks are cute at first and the shrines are okay and all, but I would take 50 koroks where each has an interesting and challenging task over 900 with a "nothing much" task. And I think dungeons should be the bread and butter of the game. The very first one had 8. I see no reason why we cannot have 8+ per game. Instead of 120 shrines and 4 main dungeons. I would gladly take 8-10 dynamic and difficult long dungeons and just 30 shrines. Just my take.
I've been hoping the next Zelda game would take a leaf out of Zelda II and move the action to Northern Hyrule, with Link on a quest to recover the Triforce (not just the Triforce of Courage, but all three). I think bring back too large of an empty ocean would be a bad idea, though. But may having a few large islands wouldn't be terrible.
This! I really love the exploration aspect of Zelda, combined with the architecture, puzzles, and dungeons in Zelda. The Zelda team need to take notice of these things in your video. I really really want a Zelda like this happen, preferably soon. I was 10 when Zelda was first released. In 2026, I'll be 50! Please, let there be a really decent Zelda like this, before I get too old to play and appreciate it. 😢 My whole life, I've played Zelda games, they are the only franchise games that I love to play! ❤
i honestly want a prequel to tears of the kingdom where we are higher in thee sky in the peak of the Zonai civilisation and with mana rpg style where we use magic spells
@@Key-Knight87 my source is my brain and the beginner level knowledge of art required to see that some of the images in this video were made using ai, and pretty poorly at that 😭
I’d like to see more of hyrule’s government like representatives of each of the races having a seat on a council alongside the royal family that makes decisions for the country with each group having local rule over there home territory or something. I honestly am frustrated that they didn’t have Ordon province from twilight princess in the wilds era games and I think there should be a game set after twilight princess in a similar hyrule just in general and no crossbow training does not count because it’s not story driven
If I could have just two things form the next game i'd be satisfied. Give us a new mainline villain, Ganon has been getting WAY to much focus in the last decade. and also a new art style. i'd love to see somthing a little more gritty, like ocarina or twilight.
I have to say, even though I have come to prefer the open world Zelda games, Twilight Princess really set my expectations high when it comes to temples/dungeons. Especially the underwater temple. I thought it was so creative to have to swim to the bottom of Lake Hylia and traverse some underwater caves in order to find the temple, which was also beautifully designed. And Arbiter's Grounds??? The whole process of making it through the desert to reach the temple was super fun on its own and then the temple itself was next level.
“Rise of the sages” Link will have a grappling hook to help him doing obstacles or travel around the land A friend who will accompany him on his journey like a fairy Being able to go under water and there will be a stamina for breathing and also dungeons or caves underneath Having new monsters ,my concept is an invisible monster that tries to frame them (link and sages)while also bring in previous monsters from previous games A weapon smith that could restore weapons durability that are about to break
This may never happen, but me and a friend of mine always talked about how we wanted a Zelda game where all of the timelines ended up into one timelines and the main story could be about our main characters discovering the eternal curse from Demise and try to end it for good. We also talked about how even Ganondorf could be aware of the curse, but every time he tries to end it himself, Demise's evil takes over him and tries to stop him. I personally think if it does happen, it could lead to a lot more creative future concepts
It would be cool to time travel between the same maps and have to take quests and clues where and when to go. Then you can see the same locations with different events and buildings in them.
@@LuSiDreams Gross, deeply unfortunate. I guess that explains the random monkey. At least trying to image search for it led to me finding some other actual art that was neat, disappointing though
My biggest hope for TOTK was time shift stones, where you could have visited areas from both the present and the distant past. I would even say that they could even make another sequel with that feature and I'd be more excited than I was for TOTK.
I thought they decided not to have anymore open world ones since echoes isn't. Is echoes supposed to be an in-between type game to hold us over until a more detailed open world is made?
I just want a linear story that isn't filled with plot holes, and unexplained lore, and that doesn't retcon all previous lore the way TOTK does. Other open world games have linear stories! I would also love to get some of the classic items back. Like the hook shot and the Hover boots. And everyone wants them to make some actually decent dungeons rather than the garbage they had in BOTW and TOTK.
Havent watched IT but i guess He will repeat the Same Things He Said the Last 8 years. Dungeon items which are so useful that you use IT in that specific Dungeon and then another 6 Times in the entire Game. Wow man. How fun.
But what about open world traditional while being linear story and main path. But you can still explore the world for side quests and that kind of stuff, collecting heart pieces.
Saying that only lighting temple is close to a classic dungeon is kinda crazy. Only the water temple felt lacking. Soul temple is kinda hard to compare, since it is scattered in many different places. Also, instead of making new races, why not go more indepth with the zonai? Nothing is holding them from using a time before they left hyrule (or whatever name the kingdom had, since Rauru was the one to estabilish that particular hyrule). On the storytelling, i disagree that the story itself is bad/lacking, its just that most of it happens in the past and we have to discover it. Many may not like it, but if Nintendo kept doing the same thing (especially after ss), things would probably turn out horrible.
I think if Hyrule were like Marseille, it would have a coast, it would have Mediterranean and French medieval architecture aswell as Greek and Roman influences and would make sense
Ditch the cell shading for a slightly more ralistic zelda... Also in the bustling towns have interesting things to do like play darts and other competitions with motion controls... Still have tons of verticality and flying. More interesting caves, secrets, bosses, etc.
It’s incredibly unfortunate to see you supporting and normalising not paying artists with that AI thumbnail ☹️. Being a fan of beautiful games like Zelda and being a creator yourself I would’ve thought you’d be against that crap like the rest of us.
@@R_wir3 It’s possible that the collection of copyrighted data and personal data gets properly outlawed in the future which will set Ai companies back enough for them to give up on reliable image generation. They would have to pay an absorbent amount of money on data to get anywhere close to what we have today. I don’t see Ai text generation going away though, that at least has some good uses as long as people understand that it will never be 100% reliable.
I want something that respects the greater lore. Something that ties some loose ends a little better instead of creating more. Also (and idk if this is controversial or not) but I’d like the overall story to take more of a front seat than a back seat compared to new gameplay mechanics like it did in TOTK. That doesn’t mean that I don’t expect great gameplay mechanics but it should never be at the expense of subtracting from the story. If anything I’d take subtracting the world size over anything. Still make it decent size but that can be reeled back over anything imo and could make the world itself feel more full and active. Keep the wide armor and weapon choices. Bring back some cool classic items that have been missing like the hookshot and please bring us some more Zelda music.
I don't think they introduced the Zonai to just cease to exist. They probably will bring them back somehow. With the positive feedback to the Zonais design and aesthetic in general. Nintendo has to. They'd be stupid to do otherwise.
Ahkk no, i dont want anymore shrines. Not 120, not 100, not 50. They start to feel like such a chore. I would rather they combine those puzzles into a dungeon
I would love to have a "Red Dead Redemption" style open world Zelda where Hyrule is only _one region_ of the gameworld we can explore with at least a few other neighbouring lands (kingdoms?) and their own unique people and society which are completley independent of Hyrule. That way it would help the series's worldbuilding by explaining the overall nature of Hyrule as a specific land within the Zelda world while also allowing players to explore new and exotic lands completley unrelated to the same kingdom we've seen over and over again.
The traditional dungeons in totk were a very pleasant surprise! I hated botw with its dungeons and empty world. Didn't feel anything like the zelda games i grew up with

That's a good idea 💡❤
Agreed!
That also sounds like Batman: Arkham Knight which implemented such a mechanic beautifully so i'm all for it!
I’m excited to see River and sea zoras interact in the upcoming echoes of wisdom as well as deku who are an underused race
9:26 haha I see what you did there
I would love for Nintendo to dial back a bit on the open-world aspect and focus more on dungeon and puzzle design.
Konrad Zelda desperately need underwear exploration to come back 🌊
Come on Nintendo, get this guy on as a Zelda consultant, loved all of these points!!!
I really want to see the Picori in a mainline game. 😢
It would also be so awesome to have a non-Ganon villain in the same vein as Ghirahim, or Zant.
i honestly want a prequel to tears of the kingdom where we are higher in thee sky in the peak of the Zonai civilisation and with mana rpg style where we use magic spells

I want to see what's beyond Hyrule. What kingdom neighbors it? What species live there?
Who's their great evil?
Didn't know link was a titan shifter!
Also maybe return the emphasis on music in the story like the other zelda games had!!!
Maybe they’ll go towards whatever the movie ends up being 🤔
That is what we need.
1:50 Link in the Witcher 3? I could not imagine him being in a brothel.
If I could have just two things form the next game i'd be satisfied. Give us a new mainline villain, Ganon has been getting WAY to much focus in the last decade. and also a new art style. i'd love to see somthing a little more gritty, like ocarina or twilight.
Ooh yes! I’d love that too 💯 percent agree with everything you said!😍
Idc what anyone says but I hope the next game is a sequel to TOTK where we can go beyond hyrule to 4 other kingdoms
“Rise of the sages”
Link will have a grappling hook to help him doing obstacles or travel around the land
A friend who will accompany him on his journey like a fairy
Being able to go under water and there will be a stamina for breathing and also dungeons or caves underneath
Having new monsters ,my concept is an invisible monster that tries to frame them (link and sages)while also bring in previous monsters from previous games
A weapon smith that could restore weapons durability that are about to break
All your wishes depends on how both powerful the next console & game engine will be for these ideas!
Never gonna happen, that curse will never be lifted anytime soon since Nintendo isn’t gonna end off the series with their iconic trio.
It would be cool to time travel between the same maps and have to take quests and clues where and when to go. Then you can see the same locations with different events and buildings in them.
Less Npc’s the worlds are too full in BotW and TotK, there are like only 10 memorable ones, while in past games you know everyone
gotta agree there, or make them more memorable
do you want a world that feels like its being lived in? taking away the amount of npcs is a bad idea

My biggest hope for TOTK was time shift stones, where you could have visited areas from both the present and the distant past. I would even say that they could even make another sequel with that feature and I'd be more excited than I was for TOTK.
I thought they decided not to have anymore open world ones since echoes isn't. Is echoes supposed to be an in-between type game to hold us over until a more detailed open world is made?
why would you think they completely abandoned it cause of one game coming out.? there is literally 0 reason to think this way in any way shape or form
Why is no one mentioning open world fishing
I just want a linear story that isn't filled with plot holes, and unexplained lore, and that doesn't retcon all previous lore the way TOTK does. Other open world games have linear stories!
I would also love to get some of the classic items back. Like the hook shot and the Hover boots.
And everyone wants them to make some actually decent dungeons rather than the garbage they had in BOTW and TOTK.
I would love to see a sort of "magic punk" Zelda.
Havent watched IT but i guess He will repeat the Same Things He Said the Last 8 years. Dungeon items which are so useful that you use IT in that specific Dungeon and then another 6 Times in the entire Game. Wow man. How fun.
No more open world! Botw and totk fulfilled all the hopes around experimentation and world progression.
It's time for something more traditional
But what about open world traditional while being linear story and main path. But you can still explore the world for side quests and that kind of stuff, collecting heart pieces.
Why are you guys using AI for the thumbnail image? I thought this was a respected Zelda yt channel. Shame.

They already kept doing the same thing that they did with botw in totk and it ended up horrible
Great Video! Very interesting!
It’s incredibly unfortunate to see you supporting and normalising not paying artists with that AI thumbnail ☹️. Being a fan of beautiful games like Zelda and being a creator yourself I would’ve thought you’d be against that crap like the rest of us.
I was going to say, it definitely has an AI look to it.
Ai will just keep evolving just like the internet itself whether we like it or not
@@R_wir3 It’s possible that the collection of copyrighted data and personal data gets properly outlawed in the future which will set Ai companies back enough for them to give up on reliable image generation. They would have to pay an absorbent amount of money on data to get anywhere close to what we have today.
I don’t see Ai text generation going away though, that at least has some good uses as long as people understand that it will never be 100% reliable.

Here's to hoping Aonuma will consider it and announce it in a future Direct.
There is already a remake of oot

I would rather they combine those puzzles into a dungeon
just let hyrule be a country and a small one... it shrinks, and grows over time not the whole world
I would love to have a "Red Dead Redemption" style open world Zelda where Hyrule is only _one region_ of the gameworld we can explore with at least a few other neighbouring lands (kingdoms?) and their own unique people and society which are completley independent of Hyrule. That way it would help the series's worldbuilding by explaining the overall nature of Hyrule as a specific land within the Zelda world while also allowing players to explore new and exotic lands completley unrelated to the same kingdom we've seen over and over again.
