To Improve the speed of old PCs you can upgrade your storage into SSDs.
SSDs are much faster than the normal hard disks
the mechanisem of the hard disks is mechanics the laptops hard disks round is 5400 and the Large hard disks that puts on PCs round per min is 7200
based on your needs you can buy SSDs from 120 Gigabytes up to more than 10 terabytes.
If you work with office apps and you don't use any proffesional programs and games 120 GB is enough for you
On Laptops You can buy a Caddy to fit your SSD on it to install it instead of DVD drives.
In this way you have your hhd and your SSD at the same time. Killing two birds with One Stone Right:)
You need to install your windows on your SSD. You can also clone your current operating system on your SSD but I recommend you to install operating system on it instead of cloning, new operating system makes your system smoother.
by the way you need to change the laptop cpu and gpu thermal paste.
it helps alot to reduce temperture of cpu and gpu while working with your computer.
The another thing that I need to mention is Upgrade the device Ram.
different types of Ram are available at the world. you need to know your Ram hardware details such as the Ram generation like ddr3 or ddr4 and the buss of your Ram storage
you can find this hardware details on your computer and you can also find it at the sticker which attached on your Ram.
We have another way to know which rams are supported by our pc motherboard the way is you need to just search your motherboard model or your laptop model to find it out.
I recommend you to upgrade your Ram Storage upto 16GB.
If you do this things you will make your old laptop smooth.
