There aren’t nearly enough likes on this video! You deserve more! I actually had a hard time finding it from your channel page. It just popped up for me one day and I had to go to my history to find it again. Your reversible videos are wonderful too. Best swimsuit making vids on youtube.
I design and make exotic wear, lingerie and swim wear, I use my serger and sewing machine daily. I been thinking about buying a coverstitch machine for finishing looks, So one of my friends said Elizabeth get a twin needle you'll love it and it's great for stretching fabric, so I found myself at Joanne's buying a few twin needles. All this past week I been using the needles for the finishing edges it looks amazing an works extremely well with polyester and spandex fabrics I've been using! I will probably still buy coverstitch machine but the twin needle works great for that look too!! I love your piece's! Thank you for sharing!!💗👙
An easy way to sew all four pieces together is to layer the four pattern pieces like so: front outer piece right side up, back outer piece right side down, back lining right side up, front lining piece right side down. Sew all four layers of the side seams and crotch. Turn right side out. Then apply elastic to leg and waist openings. Turn and top stitch over elastic.
A quicker way to do the math would be to multiply the original number by .97, that’ll give you the same final number without having to do the extra mathematical step of subtraction! It’s minimal but everything saves time.
This is fantastic - thank you for this! :) I was actually going to try this, but your video is going to make my first attempt so much easier! Yay! Can't wait to get sewing!
Thank you for this video! I have so many of your patterns but have been too afraid to try since I'm a beginner! Will definitely try both reversible and non-reversible!
Totally agree, I have the babylock desire 3 and it's great and convenient and small but it is annoying always switching between serger and coverstitch 😱
I have singer which is not industrial and I know I can do basting stitch but I also have industrial machine that does straight stitch.. it wouldn’t work the same right?
So, when is all said and done, would you prefer non-reversible styles or reversible styles? Maybe I've gotten too used to reversible styles but non-reversible seems like it's so much work for "less" product (since you get one bathing suit out of it whereas with the reversible style you essentially get two suits)
Hey I’m wondering how you finished your cover stitch seems, because they don’t backstitch like a regular sewing machine… did you sew over the seam at the end?
Katie. Very good demonstration of the elastic negative ease for swimwear ! Could we see examples of the ribbed fabrics shown with pattern pieces cut horizontally instead of vertically dear ? Other viewers might want to understand the difference from fitting perspective. V
In one of the other videos, I think it's 8 tips for sewing swimwear, she just stretches the seam after the finishing stitches. This makes a scary snapping sound but it's just breaking the basting thread so that it doesn't affect the stretch :)
You can't do a real coverstitch on a sewing machine, but you can use a twin needle on a home sewing machine, from the top it looks almost identical to a covestitch.
would New brothread 40 Brother Colors Polyester Embroidery Machine Thread Kit 500M (550Y) Each Spool for Brother Babylock Janome Singer Pfaff Husqvarna Bernina Sewing Machines work i have some on hand already and so was jw its 100% polyester
I have such a tough time with the coverstich, I have an industrial one and I much much rather just zigzag for the hems (swimwear), I loose control and the fabric always finds a way to spread so I don’t catch the fabric underneath
I have a question! Whenever I make the ranger bottoms , it always always always looks so funny on the butt no matter what I do when making the full coverage Version. It’s been giving me such a hard time lately. Like it really shows the outline of your whole butt crack if you know what I mean and it’s not flattering. Would making them non reversible possibly help with that?

Yes I love this method and always forget to use it! I've seen it used for a lot of lingerie patterns and I absolutely love it!
show us!!!! :)
I love your videos and patterns. You are a talented young lady.
Thank you so much!
when you said "Math is hard LMFAO," i felt that in my soul.

Where have you been all my life 👏👏
This is fantastic - thank you for this! :) I was actually going to try this, but your video is going to make my first attempt so much easier! Yay! Can't wait to get sewing!
I am loving your videos and would love to see more videos of you using just the sewing machine so i can really see how to do it.
Just posted a video making a swimsuit entirely on a regular sewing machine!
Great video! Although I appreciate reversible swimwear, I tend to love non reversible especially for tops so that I can insert a pad :)
Thank you for this video! I have so many of your patterns but have been too afraid to try since I'm a beginner! Will definitely try both reversible and non-reversible!
Where can I get the elastic presser foot?? 😊

Math is hard loll this is me too girl me too . Awesome video as always though Idk if Im ready to go away from the good old reversible method!

Tus proyectos son muy buenos y excelentes 🙂 y buenos
Would you make it reversible and then go over it with cover stitch? I just don’t want to keep wasting too much fabric double lining with main fabric
hermosos todos tus trabajos de bikinis... sos una genia mal... pero no hay patrones gratis para descargarlos???
Did you end up taking the basting stitch out or did you serge over it?
Hey I’m wondering how you finished your cover stitch seems, because they don’t backstitch like a regular sewing machine… did you sew over the seam at the end?
Please😓🙏🏽... What type of overlock stitch do you use for the stretch fabric? I can't use my overlock correctly😔

I was waiting on this one! Loved it, will definitely be sewing tomorrow❤️❤️
You leave baste stitch?
You are a Genius!! Mahalos👙
Yesss so much good info.
So don't you cut the liner material a bit smaller than the self material to compensate for the fold over?
What cover stitch machine do you use/recommend?
Love your videos. Just to help with the math part, it will be the same if you multiply for .97, but shorter.
Please can you do a video on pattern cutting for this design?
Yay finally
♥️♥️♥️
how do you get rid of the basting stitch once you dont need it anymore?
In one of the other videos, I think it's 8 tips for sewing swimwear, she just stretches the seam after the finishing stitches. This makes a scary snapping sound but it's just breaking the basting thread so that it doesn't affect the stretch :)
What settings did you use on the coverstitch?
Which fabric are you using
How do you add a male pouch with these patterns?
Honestly I have no idea, I've never tried! You might try asking Stuart from Pattern School Online www.patternschool.online/
@@EdgewaterAve thank you for your reply.

Amazing thanks very much
You are very welcome!
What’s the difference between using a cover stitch and using a twin needle on a regular sewing machine
Honestly the cover stitch machine is just a more fancy twin needle stitch. But they both do the same thing kinda
