    There aren’t nearly enough likes on this video! You deserve more! I actually had a hard time finding it from your channel page. It just popped up for me one day and I had to go to my history to find it again. Your reversible videos are wonderful too. Best swimsuit making vids on youtube.

    I design and make exotic wear, lingerie and swim wear, I use my serger and sewing machine daily. I been thinking about buying a coverstitch machine for finishing looks, So one of my friends said Elizabeth get a twin needle you'll love it and it's great for stretching fabric, so I found myself at Joanne's buying a few twin needles. All this past week I been using the needles for the finishing edges it looks amazing an works extremely well with polyester and spandex fabrics I've been using! I will probably still buy coverstitch machine but the twin needle works great for that look too!! I love your piece's! Thank you for sharing!!💗👙

    An easy way to sew all four pieces together is to layer the four pattern pieces like so: front outer piece right side up, back outer piece right side down, back lining right side up, front lining piece right side down. Sew all four layers of the side seams and crotch. Turn right side out. Then apply elastic to leg and waist openings. Turn and top stitch over elastic.

      Yes I love this method and always forget to use it! I've seen it used for a lot of lingerie patterns and I absolutely love it!

    A quicker way to do the math would be to multiply the original number by .97, that’ll give you the same final number without having to do the extra mathematical step of subtraction! It’s minimal but everything saves time.

    I have singer which is not industrial and I know I can do basting stitch but I also have industrial machine that does straight stitch.. it wouldn’t work the same right?

    So, when is all said and done, would you prefer non-reversible styles or reversible styles? Maybe I've gotten too used to reversible styles but non-reversible seems like it's so much work for "less" product (since you get one bathing suit out of it whereas with the reversible style you essentially get two suits)

    Katie. Very good demonstration of the elastic negative ease for swimwear ! Could we see examples of the ribbed fabrics shown with pattern pieces cut horizontally instead of vertically dear ? Other viewers might want to understand the difference from fitting perspective. V

      In one of the other videos, I think it's 8 tips for sewing swimwear, she just stretches the seam after the finishing stitches. This makes a scary snapping sound but it's just breaking the basting thread so that it doesn't affect the stretch :)

    • @GoetiaHP
      @GoetiaHP 3 года назад

      You can't do a real coverstitch on a sewing machine, but you can use a twin needle on a home sewing machine, from the top it looks almost identical to a covestitch.

    I have such a tough time with the coverstich, I have an industrial one and I much much rather just zigzag for the hems (swimwear), I loose control and the fabric always finds a way to spread so I don’t catch the fabric underneath

    I have a question! Whenever I make the ranger bottoms , it always always always looks so funny on the butt no matter what I do when making the full coverage Version. It’s been giving me such a hard time lately. Like it really shows the outline of your whole butt crack if you know what I mean and it’s not flattering. Would making them non reversible possibly help with that?
