it is impossible he didn't know he was murdered. people who spent time with kurt towards the end of his life all thought he was murdered. they knew he was not suicidal and wanted a divorce. krist and dave KNEW that. they knew rome was not a suicide attempt, but krist is on youtube saying rome was a suicide attempt (after kurt was killed), just like courtney. he knew all along but vigorously supported the murderers. the question is not did he know kurt was murdered. the question is not was he bought by courtney, he was, clearly, why else would he spend 22 years lying, for money she gave him, the question is when did she buy him. then it becomes he is supporting the murderers because he was one of the co conspirators.

They're playing the QM Union so we go out there, no money, no tickets but we bring a couple of leads and are completely out of our faces. People on the subway also going to the gig give us beers. We get there, bouncers instantly tell us to fuck-off. We hold up the leads and tell them we're in the road crew. Nope. More folk start shit and we slip in. Another bouncer comes after us, we walk away from him and bump right into Krist Novoselic. Bouncer starts on us, we tell him we're road crew and look at Krist. He nods, says to us "where you been? @@jerseymusicman3332 Courtney was a real bitch, and it seems fairly obvious to me that Kurt's struggle with heroine completely overpowered his ability to deal with anything, including Courtney's behaviour. Yes, I think that she played a role in his decision to kill himself, though I don't think that it would be fair to say that she meant to.
And I like that you notice it was HIS decision to kill HIMSELF... and not swept into bullshit theories. Sucks. But he did. She didn’t. Although... she’s a piece of shit. Good call homie.
@@jerseymusicman3332 As a teenager, I did an essay in school on a topic of our choice, and I chose this one. I went into it, fully believing that Courtney had Kurt assassinated. "Who Killed Kurt Cobain" was written around that time, and the conspiracy theory was alive and well. The truth is, the more research that I did, the more that I discovered numerous previous suicide attempts by Kurt, as well as admissions by Krist and Dave that Kurt was deeply struggling with heroine, and their verification that Kurt had tried to kill himself prior to successfully committing suicide on April 5, 1994. Eventually, I simply had to face facts. As you said, it sucks, and as Krist said in this interview, Kurt's opiate addiction is why it happened.
6 years after this video is published, and I'm just now watching this interview. Krist seems like a real stand-up dude. I think a lot of people fall in where he's at politically...maybe not with his exact stances on things but just "trying to find a way to make it work." I'm really impressed by him though. He seems very humble and down-to-earth and reasonable.
Casey Payne he got out of the city for starters. When you live out on the farm things slow down and we’re just a more reasonable bunch. My friends in the city are just more high strung. Maybe it’s all that social collision and opportunities for dispute. Stress etc...
I love Krist! Great bass player, great human, great friend. I’m 55. I think he looks great! I admire that he’s active in voting and politics, especially local politics. I’m happy he has his interests. He’s been through a lot. And likely has a lot of knowledge from having been king of the world at one time. Still is in my opinion. x
Nirvana has spawned a great future, if people listen. Here we have Krist on politics etc and making a perfect sense. Dave (Grohl) preaches anti drugs and has a wonderful family life. People should be listening to them BOTH.
I love this guy!!! He was always very silly and always joked, but ever since Kurt died, he is just serious and monotone. I mean I guess I would be as well.
Love Krist. I hope one day to finally meet him. Him, Kurt , and Dave opened so many people lives to what's right in this world. Changed my life and how I think. Im very grateful for it.
Interesting. Nice guy, wanna run into him at a grocery store and have chat or something. I'm also a "gun owning pacifist." I like his ideas and his rhetoric.
***** I thought he was pretty clear about his personal reasons for owning guns. He has a farm, chickens, goats. When a raccoon gets into the chicken yard, if he didn't have his shotgun there'd be no eggs and no chickens left. He needs a gun to ward off the coyotes after his goats. He lives in the countryside with no one nearby, but if he did get into trouble and needed to defend his family, he'd call the police. I don't hear any irony at all in explaining himself as a gun owning pacifist. He's being practical. Hope your head doesn't explode.
It's interesting seeing Nirvana being described as classic. I was fundamentally moved by Nevermind, it was so radically new sounding and so refreshingly raw and real. I guess anything cutting edge won't be so for long.
I got to hand it to him, that actually made some sense. Most of the time when I hear "election reform" its followed by another blatantly biased system to benefit a single candidate, ideal, or party. His idea wasn't half bad.
Dave is a complete sellout. I love the first Foo album, but the rest is generic soulless noise. After watching old Nirvana interviews, it all clicked for me.
Sadly he is getting a LOT of criticism on Twitter because he came out in support of Donald Trump's recent speech on the riots and they are trying to cancel him. I don't like Trump personally, but just because someone has a political opinion I don't think they deserve to be cancelled.
@@CalebHimself I saw that and was appalled at the reaction. I commend Kris for having the cojones to even come out and say that, he's the real revolutionary.
"He's the one who likes all our pretty songs, and he (ANY) likes to sing along, and he (ANY) likes to shoot his guns, but he (BODY) knows not what it means..."
Besides a bass falling from the sky and kamakazin' his face where, by now, a billion people have seen. I have also seen Krist play drunk crisco twister and he is Kurts best friend. This guy is a legend. Novocelic 2024
I love this man! I know fuck all about politics, which I know is important to Krist but as a person he's just an awesome dude so humble, down to earth and an awesome bass player and musician.
I’ll say, I’ve heard many people speak of Nirvana as a “three chord band”... they were pooping on them. Listen... Nirvana made absolutely incredible music. There are only 2 songs of every song they have that I dislike. That’s... a very... incredible record. They are my favorite band when I was young. I’ve loved many since. They’re my first love. They really are.
I can see why Kris and Kurt were close. Both very intelligent and open minded. I could easily Kurt having very similar views and evolving his ideas and perspectives had he lived into his 30s and 40s.
If he calls himself libertarian/ancap, it's clear what his opinion should be. Though there has been a lot of psychological torture deployed that has resulted in people taking surprising stances lately.
This is so awesome that we are on the same page. I knew there was a reason I've always liked him. Thanks Krist for talking sense. Pretty timely comments too about gerrymandering. ie Mississippi
Thanks for this video; I now have a completely new and deeper respect for Krist as a person. I did not like him because of how he acted in old Nirvana interviews but he's matured A LOT and is quite sensible. Cool guy. After a week of watching Nirvana videos, I finally decided to order four of their CDs! Excited.
Yet these guys seem to be unaware of the fact that Celine Dion herself has her own kind of underground career. She's know in the mainstream for her albums in English and those tend to sound , well, generic and boring, yet she has a career in French. Her French albums are amazing - the quality of the lyrics in French are really something else. It's almost like a whole different artist, lyrically speaking, even though those songs are written by other people - yet those other people are really good.
I've been reading William S. Burroughs for over a year now, and in that time I've read Junky, Queer, Naked Lunch, The Soft Machine, The Ticket That Exploded, Nova Express (Nearly finished with it), The Wild Boys, and Ghost of Chance, so I'm well acquainted with his work and I do not get how anyone with any common sense could read into his novels as him expressing that Heroin is a cool drug to do. He flat out says in Naked Lunch that junk was the worst thing he ever did and yet there's this cult of people who claim to have gotten hooked after reading Naked Lunch or other Burroughs books. I seriously wonder if some people read Junky and then think that their life will be as adventurous (though I'd say more turbulent and rough) as Burroughs' was. Dude was in and out of jail, in and out of withdrawals, and couldn't be a good father or husband in any capacity, not to mention Burroughs was receiving an allowance from his affluent family in St. Louis of $200 a month (which in those days ran for a lot) so that's why he was able to engage in these sort of experiences and make it out alive which most people cannot say they've done. In what way is that appealing?
You dont have to agree with everything he supports, but you have to admire his complete disdain and lack of tribalism that 99% of people fall victim to. The political parties of this country are tearing our country apart before our very eyes and that's not cool.
I remember seeing Nirvana open for the Chili Peppers in Del Mar, San Diego. I love the Peppers, but they seemed cartoonish after Nirvana split the night wide open during their set.
The whole system is built to keep the people divided, while keeping the political class entrenched and out of reach. I’m glad to hear that Krist is concerned with bureaucratic self perpetuation. But, this idea of tinkering with elections a bit is absurd. Independent commissions, huh? Who are these disinterested citizens who will determine fair electoral processes for everyone, without partisanship, ideology or ambition?
He was always a very intelligent human being, I could tell that in our day in the early 90s when he spoke in nirvana interviews, speaking sarcastically, in a cynical way, in a very" this mundane, repetitive, anyone have a genuine thought" kindv way. I'm glad he's putting it to use now. He proves that you need actual character and intelligence in order to grow up. It's a good thing. It's productive.
Smart man. He's the voice of a generation too. Gen X & those who are just sick of the division & constant polarization caused by those at the top with an agenda. Fair Vote & Ranked Choice Voting sound preferable to what we have now.
Stellar punk! Inspiring introspection. Global awareness. Expanding education. I'm a musician (singer) and studied many of the social sciences as Krist is. I always wanted to do more and just thought I was too old. Krist is 9 or 10 years older than me and he's expanding his education, resurrecting the band. Farming. Politically involved. I love him. I love Dave. I miss Kurt. Long live Nirvana ❤🎶❤🧠❤🤘✌️
I like Krist, even though I disagree with him a lot. But the charge that the GOP is trying to restrict ballot access is just ridiculous. Requiring ID to vote is not restricting access. It's common sense. And Gerrymandering is certainly not unique to the GOP.
The GOP do a lot more to restrict vote access then just voter ID laws, the purposely target immigrants and black people to be removed from voting registries using false information such as claiming they are felons or deceased as well they cut voting hours are against moving voting to the weekend and yes they outspend democrats 5 to 1 to gerrymander the hell out of districts that are cookie cutter'd around white people.
1ManNamedDan Lots of vague claims that I doubt you can substantiate by any reputable source. It's interesting, though, because why do I get the feeling you don't lose one ounce of sleep at the well-documented voter intimidation by the black panthers which Eric Racist Holder refused to address? Hmm..
I'm gonna go ahead with the guess you get all your news from ONE channel, because this has been covered over and over again in papers and plenty of interviews of people who this has happened to - it's not like you would ever admit it even if you saw it happen in front you because your mind is made up. This is why the GOP does NOT want to let immigration happen, seriously how stupid is it to not have the millions who are already here PAY TAXES instead of draining our resources because they don't, they would rather fck the economy (which is about to happen) then lose power.
1ManNamedDan Actually, I don't watch any channel since I don't have cable. But I read the news. And I read liberal news sources too. Sure, just about every day there's some vague article with unsubstantiated claims that never come to fruition about how all white male conservatives are evil. But it takes more than just a headline and a couple of hearsay statements to prove that kind of thing. I'm "GOP" and I'm okay with anyone voting if they want to. I know lots of "GOP" too and I've never met anyone who tried to stop citizens from voting. I have, however, heard about the black panther party illegally intimidating voters. Ever hear of that one? But you probably don't care about that.
when I 1st saw Krists interviewer Nick I thought to myself "this guys trying to look hip with his style" and thought he would try to be impressive. I was wrong! He was very well put together with his knowledge of music and politics. Now I'm impressed at this great interview. Either this is how Nick is or he did his homework exceptionally well to pull this off. Great job! A new subscriber.

Yes, I think that she played a role in his decision to kill himself, though I don't think that it would be fair to say that she meant to.
Nirvana7734 yup. Couldn’t agree more. Hey, good to meet you.
I like Krist, he's always seemed like a very empathetic person. I also like his bass playing and sound.
Krist has matured quite nicely. He seems to be very down to earth. A thinking man's bass player!

6 years after this video is published, and I'm just now watching this interview. Krist seems like a real stand-up dude. I think a lot of people fall in where he's at politically...maybe not with his exact stances on things but just "trying to find a way to make it work."
I'm really impressed by him though.
Too bad fairvote is a corrupt lobby doing evil. He is a useful idiot
Watch Nick Gillespie desperately try to pigeonhole someone who seems to intuitively reject identity politics.
Simply put, I would love to have a conversation over a pint of beer with this fella.
Krist really aged like fine wine. Well done sir
I love this guy. Sincerely
Interesting. Nice guy, wanna run into him at a grocery store and have chat or something. I'm also a "gun owning pacifist." I like his ideas and his rhetoric.
why do you own a gun?
ac1dP1nk Why not?
Well I know why I own a gun; so i can do clay pigeon shooting. Did you not buy it/them with a specific reason in mind?
Guns have many uses. The most important one being defense. I just don't see why it's necessary to ask someone why they bought one.
I love this man! He would make a great POTUS. Vote for novoselic!! 🤗
So I'm staring at Krist head looking for a mark from the bass throw incident
He looks like a dad but sounds just like he did in the 90’s
85% less drunk though.

Krist is a cool laid back guy and is logical on the issues. I would definitely welcome any entry he has in politics.
I Love him, as a politian, as a musician, as a person. 😍😍
awesome interview, with the base playing legend from the classic band nirvana. krist novoselic. i like his music and politics. he is fair and true.

Awesome interview.. He should go on Joe Rogan Experience podcast :D !
Joe's popular but a horrible horrible host.

@@bobbyleeah2121 depends on who it is. He's really good about knowing when to speak and when to shut up.
He and Buzz Osborne would be great interviewees.
It’s interesting how Krist went political and Dave went pop
Now Dave's in Joe Biden's campaign ad.
Dave sold out a long time ago he's too in to all the Hollywood crap
Dave's political. Active dem
Dave was not as political as Kurt and kris . He was always silent during that part of the interviews. He just stayed out of it!
Dave is a complete sellout. I love the first Foo album, but the rest is generic soulless noise. After watching old Nirvana interviews, it all clicked for me.
I like him. He’s definitely come a long way politically. Everybody grows up some time.
Sadly he is getting a LOT of criticism on Twitter because he came out in support of Donald Trump's recent speech on the riots and they are trying to cancel him. I don't like Trump personally, but just because someone has a political opinion I don't think they deserve to be cancelled.
@@CalebHimself Welcome to the New World Order

You may not know fuck about politics but that won't stop politics from fucking you.
People are deaf. There's so much more than the chords going on.
Hal Leonard official transcripts prove this.
Curious, which songs do you dislike??
Who are you?
Hard to believe this is the same guy who did “bass parkour” by throwing it in the air mid song... legend

Well he is middle aged, and a Dad, and from the 90s, so...
@@jaylinsa o shit u just screwed his words up to make sense
I can see why Kris and Kurt were close. Both very intelligent and open minded. I could easily Kurt having very similar views and evolving his ideas and perspectives had he lived into his 30s and 40s.
Dude was more left than RATM.
He literally openly talked about beating cops.
I’d love to hear Krist’s opinion on recent political events.
Kris went from being in the biggest band of the 90s to a high school social studies teacher
Excited.
Krist looks like he just walked off the set of "There Will Be Blood."
ahahah Damn man thanks for the laugh
I wanna ask him to The Peach Tree Dance!
I'd vote for Krist...
He's thoughtful, and not stuck in some stupid dogma.
Not gonna lie I imagined for a moment that he left a band called The Dems and I hadn't heard about it.
Still, all the best to Krist. Lovely guy, I'm a massive nirvana fan. ✊✌
You dont have to agree with everything he supports, but you have to admire his complete disdain and lack of tribalism that 99% of people fall victim to. The political parties of this country are tearing our country apart before our very eyes and that's not cool.
There was a time, when Krist used to take the piss out of interviewers.. Kinda the opposite now!
COME ON PEOPLE NOW, SMILE ON YOUR BROTHER EVERYBODY GET TOGETHER TRYNA LOVE ONE ANOTHER RIGHT NOWWWWWWWW
I remember seeing Nirvana open for the Chili Peppers in Del Mar, San Diego. I love the Peppers, but they seemed cartoonish after Nirvana split the night wide open during their set.
MrDasien I'm from San Diego but I was like 5 when they were here I wish I was old enough to have gone dammit.
MrDasien I was there too! My 1st concert
I could listen to this guy talk about anything
The whole system is built to keep the people divided, while keeping the political class entrenched and out of reach. I’m glad to hear that Krist is concerned with bureaucratic self perpetuation. But, this idea of tinkering with elections a bit is absurd. Independent commissions, huh? Who are these disinterested citizens who will determine fair electoral processes for everyone, without partisanship, ideology or ambition?
It’s a nice thought, but you’re correct.
Love you Krist! Keep being the awesome man that you are, and always were.. ❤️
Krist president of USA , lord make America grunge again
He was always a very intelligent human being, I could tell that in our day in the early 90s when he spoke in nirvana interviews, speaking sarcastically, in a cynical way, in a very" this mundane, repetitive, anyone have a genuine thought" kindv way. I'm glad he's putting it to use now. He proves that you need actual character and intelligence in order to grow up. It's a good thing. It's productive.

just loved how old school Krist emerged from his eyes
A part of Chris died when Kurt did. Hes never been the same. He was the only true friend Kurt had and truly loved Kurt.
not even a fan of the music but I found the interview very entertaining.
Smart man. He's the voice of a generation too. Gen X & those who are just sick of the division & constant polarization caused by those at the top with an agenda. Fair Vote & Ranked Choice Voting sound preferable to what we have now.
So Many times the interviewer should just let Him talk. Let Him finish what He is saying
Stellar punk! Inspiring introspection. Global awareness. Expanding education. I'm a musician (singer) and studied many of the social sciences as Krist is. I always wanted to do more and just thought I was too old. Krist is 9 or 10 years older than me and he's expanding his education, resurrecting the band. Farming. Politically involved. I love him. I think his voice doesn't fit his face anymore. Everytime i hear Krist's voice all i see in my head is the tall lanky bassist from the OG Nirvana.
Krist really has changed, but at the same time, he really hasn't.

Yeah he wouldve been a independent probably because most people are Dems and he was known for not following what was popular
@@purplekitkatemily yeah, i agree. He'd probably detest both sides. Neither really care about the people, all corporate greed.
Thanks for the timestamps in description. This was done very well. You're a fine example of how people should be doing things.
I like Krist, even though I disagree with him a lot. But the charge that the GOP is trying to restrict ballot access is just ridiculous. Requiring ID to vote is not restricting access. It's common sense. And Gerrymandering is certainly not unique to the GOP.
anyone who believes that's restriction is intellectually dishonest, or completely uninformed/clueless on the topic.
1ManNamedDan
Lots of vague claims that I doubt you can substantiate by any reputable source.
