Do you still have your Fiat 500E? Have you had the battery replaced? Would you consider a 65,000 Km in the odometer 2017 Fiat 500E? Cheers from Costa Rica!
@@girl600podcast Yes. Mine is 2013. I've just had the normal brake pads and one wheel bearing replaced since ownership, I'm only owner. Can't really blame the car for the wheel bearing because our roads are terrible with big bumps and potholes. Engine and starting has been perfect and I recommend snow tires, not all season , for any car in winter. This thing has never failed in winter to start right up. I'm learning maintenance on my own since dealership repairs are expensive if you ever have the need. My online purchase of replacement wheel bearing was $75 vs $250 from dealer. If I ordered the same Mopar one online it was $150. Get the picture?
U.P. dan thanks for all that info. I was shopping them this morning. Tesla podcast is how I found out about the electric 500. Love the Gucci model as well as the pearl white gas models.
no mention of 'fuel economy' here? i mean, how many miles will this car go on a full (or 80%) charge? how long does it take to reach 80% (or full) charge? (link to your other video on the same car, older model?)
Thank you for the video. In fact, only cosmetic changes. Nothing new, no additional functionality ... Has the charge rate remained 6.6 kWh? Fast charge not provided?
Glad you liked it. All the same, except for what I pointed out. Can't wait for the all new next gen purpose built Fiat 500 EV to come out. A great opportunity for Fiat to show us what they can do if influenced by Tesla. Ciao.
@@theevolvingworld Thanks for the answer, but what about the capacity of the battery? Still 24 kWh? By the way, is this a total battery capacity or is it available for use?
Same battery since mid 2013. The actual capacity is approximately 22.9 kWh, same as before, as per cell count. I'm sure that 0% charge is not really zero. Ciao
I guess no charging information on `16 model too, right? I have `14 and it shows only level (120 or 240), but never actual voltage and/or current. I have to connect Android with AlfaOBD app to check those values which is annoying. Plus no way to set max charge %
I know... very disappointing on a chance to improve it. However, the all new 2020 model will be a purpose built EV from the start & built in Italy (for what it's worth). We hope to see a tesla style skateboard platform with the motor in the rear like the original 500's. A multi-link suspension at all four corners. Maybe an Abarth AWD edition, rally car like. Also, keep the styling distinctively fiat 500 clean like w/ Italian character.
I'm in the same predicament with an all freeway commute of 70 miles (85mph) and I can't find a single reviewer willing to drive top speed on the freeway non-stop to test the range. Suffering from range anxiety with the 500e.
They should easily transfer over. Although, I believe the parking/DRL lights are different. Another option might be to take yours & heat them up to separate the outer lenses, paint the chrome black and then reassemble.
It comes tinted & with the interior screen as shown. A nice piece of custom cut cardboard resting on the screen will be highly effective at blocking the UV rays out. We have past experience will a 2005 Mini cooper S with the same type roof.

Thanks for the update...I'm looking for a used 500e now and this helps understand the annual changes. Question: with the new head unit, is there full Bluetooth? My understanding is that in the early years the BT only linked the phone app and didn't allow music steaming, etc.
I'm not too sure myself. I know my '14 will connect a phone & controls my iPod just fine, which is all I need. It can connect to Sirius XM. For '16-on it does have a version of FCA's u-connect. The newer system did not impress me.
I just picked up a used 2016, and in my initial setup tonight I had full Bluetooth streaming for music as well as phone usage. Now I just wish some clever vendor had already developed a CarPlay/Android Auto aftermarket upgrade for the system.
Thanks. If you like the car in this video, it's a stock car, should be able to find one like it by searching at any of the major car search sites. If you are referring to MY car, then you would have watch the "Modified" series of videos on how to make one like it. Cheers,
Your test drive is a little scary .... whipping around those curves with oncoming traffic and cars off on the sides is a little reckless.... Maybe push the limits in a more empty area next time....
John? No no your Mr Pink Mr Pink. John is on another job. We tried letting folks pick their own names in the past and everyone wanted to be Mr Black and since nobody knew anybody nobody would back down. It was a disaster. Your Mr PINK and that's the end of it.
Thanks for the reviews. Does anyone know if the 2016 change to the integrated nav added Bluetooth audio and/or a backup camera?

I have a Fiat 500 Lounge and love the car. The hatchback is 1000 thumbs up.

Very informative! Thanks!

You didn't mention if the car had a cd player, and the shaking camera work made it difficult to see what was offered.
these were not sold on the east coast why.
How many miles of range for full freeway driving?

@@TiedInNaughts Did you ever get an answer to this? In the same boat currently.
I would say 60 miles depending on speed and temp on freeway
love those blackened head and tail lights, they would look awesome on my 2012 500 sport. Do you think they would fit and are they available?
They should easily transfer over. Although, I believe the parking/DRL lights are different. Another option might be to take yours & heat them up to separate the outer lenses, paint the chrome black and then reassemble.
thanks, beautiful car
That moon roof is awesome, albeit, can you cover it completely to avoid tropical climate burns?

Nice vid.. What's the range in miles?
Thanks. About 90. A little less, if you drive heavy footed or in cold weather. A bit more, if you drive light footed or in warm weather.
@@theevolvingworld what if I always have the heat/ac on? How much of the battery life does it take?

That's the same dealership that I bought our 500e 😂
I really like the looks of your car. Where can I get one exactly like it.

You didnt say anything about how you upgraded it. You only said it was nice to have a sunroof.
I didn't upgrade. This review is a different car, emphasizing the differences of the '16 & newer models equipped with different options.
What's gas mileage on this like?

I thought you get to the meat of it ,miles etc. save your opinions for the end
No quick charge on these buggies is the deal killer for me.
Yes, that's the thing. Also, way too heavy for it's size. Although, the 2014-19 models have been at the top of the EV reliability scale.
that looks like Portland
This looks like my 2013 fiat abarth.

I hate him just because instead of calling it a car he calls it a EV because he has to let everyone know that he drives a electric car
