since picking up outlaw and coming back in TWW you are the only one posting up to date outlaw guides and stuff so i appreciate it man, hopefully see you in the battleground
Thanks man. After 7 years I'm dropping ww & swapping to outlaw. Having an absolute blast with all the control. Your videos have helped a ton! Can't wait for the next one.
Fantastic video mate. Trying to figure out outlaw, but struggling at about 1800 in solo shuffle. I get some lobbies where I win 4 or 5, had a few 6-0s, but sometimes i have no idea who I’m meant to be going. My trouble isn’t recognising sometimes my team mates don’t press buttons or misplay, my trouble is I tend to always assume the fault is mine somehow; but after not playing for 15 years (since OG wotlk, and even then I was subtlety and never even touched combat, AKA outlaw) I just don’t have the instincts anymore. I guess my question is what is your general heuristic for approaching each comp/lobby? How do you know who the go-target is? Would love more videos like this one mate. Really good stuff Edit: I’d say about 90% of lobbies at around 1800 I’m getting 3-3
Thanks for the question! Caster lobbies are your dream, you can hit anything you want. Any lobby with another rogue or a warrior is not that fun. Full melee lobbies are okay because you get a lot of value out of blade flurry. Generally picking a target is about how well your teammate can hit that target. As outlaw you have no issue hitting anything because of your mobility. Cloth targets are always good to go on. If there is a warlock in the game they will pretty much always be the target. Demo is a bit tankier than the other two lock specs so you have to be aware of that and who their teammate is. Plate targets are the worst target for outlaw to hit because you deal a lot of physical damage. I'd say just focus on hitting Cloth--> Leather ---> Mail ---> Plate. Best targets to hit in general are Locks, Boomies, Ferals, Rogues, Hunters, and Ele. Other than that, just be aware of who has what cooldowns. Anyone can die at any time. If you're cleaving with blade flurry and a target is low that isn't your main target, tab to them and start pumping damage into them. It takes some time to get used to recognizing who is a good target and who has what. Most of it will come with trial and error. But that's the best advice I can give in terms of targeting.
@ really appreciate the write up. Good stuff. I’ll give that modus operandi a go One more q; in your experience going up against a comp where you really want both dismantle and improved Cloak, do you drop enduring brawler or bones haste? Or is dismantle not so necessary?
I have similar issue, I mostly feel it’s my fault for losing a round. Yeah, sometimes teammates fail hard, but it seems that if I play well, don’t delay, CC properly - I win. Yet if I get tunnel vision (which I still often do) and miss my CCs in crucial moments - it’s gg. Outlaw feels like a hard carry that wins games if played right and loses otherwise, cuz damage is quite low in comparison.
@@KalispellBarbell if there is ever an assa rogue in your lobby, he is an easy target to kill. Playing with other rogue specs feels awful in shuffle because of stun drs. And yes, warriors are also no fun. It’s just RNG at the end of the day.
Can you please share a vod of you crushing a rogue lobby ? I'm stuck 2.6 because any time I face a rogue I get completely destroyed, and I have no idea what I do wrong. Any other lobby I have zero issue. Playing Supercharger or Tea or Vigor Crit or even KiR, it's always the same result. I mostly play Dismantle / RtB haste / Brawler, or Dismantle / Cloak / Brawler if against assa. No idea what the strategy is, I try to swap to Rogue when I have stun DR on them, do a BtE window with 2x CS > Dismantle then go to another target but even tho it works everytime, in the end I lose almost all rounds.
@@zHqqrdz yeah, I can do that. Double rogue lobbies are annoying for sure. Your goal against another rogue is just to shut down their subterfuge windows for outlaw and assa and the dance for sub. Just make it difficult for them to play the game.
@@Logan-my1hb hard to say. Everything is situational. It’s generally good to rotate through your vanishes quickly because you get them back fast but sometimes you want it for the stuns as well. If you’re playing a comp that doesn’t rely on setting things up, then you can aggressively use the vanishes just for the damage. Otherwise, it’s a good idea to save at least one for stun drs when playing with casters.
@@RyrogWoW okay thank you, yeah i was using vanish around stun drs and after it was over it felt like my burst got them to barely half health which felt so inconsistent on landing kills

You should get trufigcd for these vids
Warriors and assa rogues are tough. Everything else feels pretty winnable.

I’d be curious to see how you handle full melee lobbies

when playing outlaw in ss when do you use back to back subterfuge just for dmg or do you just press vanish on stun goes?

so you're saying its good most of the time to send another subterfuge even if the target is on stun dr just to soften them up
says the hunter, not like its one the best hunters in retail pvp
