what I like the most is that when I became a Fujifilm photographer, I noticed that I don't have to shoot in raw format, thanks to the film simulations. everyone else has also liked the fact that they get the pictures practically immediately for themselves without any editing. of course there are always exceptions. 😊
Yep, I used to take RAW pictures, like everybody else. But the simulations are so good, editing can’t get it much better done. I safe a lot of time and nerves!
the size and what you can get with this setup is honestly really convincing. looks great for a daily carry camera. Lovely shots and beautiful colors as always!
Then, buy not the fuji 2.8 zoom. The thing is huge and heavy, the quality is superb, but when the apperture ring miss of the sigma 18-50 2.8 is ok, its nice and small. I have the tamron 17-70mm 2.8 and that comes close to the fuji in weight (is a bit lighter), on my xt4. I use it less often, because its tiring to walk around with it, as i more hold onto the lense than the body.
I love the 16-55, would recommend it! It’s always on my camera even though it’s a bit big but the wide range just makes it easy to take shots while traveling
can vouch for this one too! Shot both the 16 and the 55 funnily did a comparison today. The sigma is truly a great lens as long as you dont mind using one of the rotating dials for ss and dont shoot all to much wide angle work
Yep! I sold my 50mm in favor of the Sigma 56mm f/1.4. Sigma is good, but I missed my 50mm so much I had to buy it again. The size, weight, aperture ring, AF speed, weather resistance, micro contrast and image quality...fantastic lens!
I love my xt5, a. step up from my XT2 & xt20. Film sims are great. I use the 35mm a lot and for a zoom 18-135 gives me all the focal range when travelling. There is a 50mm Zeiss macro which is superb and doubles for travel as well. I agree, the Fuji cameras are just fun to use, makes one want to go out & take pictures.
I also have a X-T2, but the autofocus is quite disappointing to shoot animals. Do you think with the new firmware the X-T5 is competitive in comparison with other brands and worth the money? I also would like to know the opinion of other people here, including Samuel.
@@menkassio Honestly when i was looking i found that the Nikon Z6II for the same price was better (full frame, AF, more zoom lens options, etc.) but i absolutely love my XT-5 with the tamron 17-70 and fuji 70-300 and i have shot plenty of wildlife with no complaints at all! I found with the fuji i was just excited to go out and use it with the dials, but if you dont care and just want IQ quality and function, id say Z6II or something
Hot take - the smaller lenses are key to these Fuji cameras - the bigger lenses are fucking amazing, but even my larger primes for the x-mount have a whole different feel. Check out the 27 2.8 and the 18 pancakes, and the 35 1.4. I like those more than the f2 lenses, and they are smaller.

What do you think about the XS-20? I dont see myself justifying the price on the XT-5 when for a couple hundred more i can get the brand new Lumix S5II which is a full-frame monster. XT-5 in silver is beyond beautiful but the price is too much for me for an APC-S camera. XS-20 seems amazing but isnt weather sealed which is a big concern for me.
Have you tried the Viltrox 75mm 1.2? It’s kind of incredible imo. Sharp at 1.2 (even on 40mp) and it’s only $550. I know it’s a “portrait lens” but it’s good for many kinds of subject photography.
Hey man, thanks for the video. I'm curious about one thing. Would you be willing to use the camera as your main work body?? I have my Canon R6 which is great in many ways, but the pro lenses are just so biig so I'm searching for some smaller lighter alternative..Curious about your opinion. Thank you and have a great day♥️
The buffer issue is because of the super large file size, If you want to shoot CH with improved buffer try reducing the file size - shoot with lossless compression or compressed file size - This will give you way better buffer. The new Heif image files are great too, they hold more details than jpegs with smaller file size
Great video full of info and small useful details, positive & neg, on the T5 which makes it easy to decide if it mite suit me, or you. For example I was surprised that the in body stabilisation and the buffering isn’t better … Also plenty of lovely images to show the (great) Fiji colours science. Thankx
Thank your review, i just got the X-T5 and i wonder if I should buy v60 or v90 memory cards for photography. I dont shoot video and if I shoot burst I rarely goesnover 10 photos on burst. I just checked with Prograde v60 that I uaebin my Sony A7IV and I was able to shoot 25 ahots in RAW bwfore the camera alowed down.
Great review! It's funny, my first camera was a Nikon as well (D5100) before switching to Canon. Just picked up the X-T5 and love it as an everyday travel camera for its form factor but the sensor definitely punches way above its price would suggest.
As for the IBIS, I wonder how good the Canon R5 is in this respect. I find the X-T5 to be a bit better than the X-T4, I get sharp images with a normal lens (33 or 56mm) down to 1/4s -1/5s and 1/10s - 1/15s at 300mm (70-300mm zoom). Is that really so inferior?
Glad to see this video make the light of day. As I’ve mentioned before, your initial videos are what got me over the line to purchase an X-T5 and I couldn’t be happier with my purchase. Keen to see how this goes for you over time and some more examples of use on road trips and that sort of stuff. Also, when are you dropping a preset pack? ❤❤❤
The 50mm is an incredible prime lens for a range of shooting scenarios. You’ll miss it when it’s gone. It’s an essential lens, alongside the classic XF35mmF1.4 R
Great review! I wonder if getting a lens with IBIS would help make the XT5 a bit more of a handheld option for video? I am looking at an XT5 and not sure what lens to grab first.
Hi there! Great video. I am a serious photography enthusiast and am just wondering if you would recommend buying the XT5 over a Sony a7 iv (and then use the extra money to buy lenses)? I mainly shoot landscapes, environmental portraits, and street stuff. Thanks!
Its a whole different story. Sony system does weight quite a bit more. Real estate could be the same. However, the Sony menu and user interface in general wants me to throw it away immediatelly. It is such a joy to play with Fujifilms color profiles aka film simulations.
Hi , im a huge fan your channel. Can I ask if you listen a noise coming from your camera like a fan ? not a major sound but something I noticed. Thanks for you help.
Try the sigma prime lenses. The f1.4 lens trio which was earlier available only for Sony is such a blessing for Fuji now. They are super sharp and super light.
Amazing video as always mate. Out of curiosity, do you have a custom recipe you like to use for your jpeg's or do you go with the existing film simulations? Your colours and tones are incredible
