Ive had the same Absorber chamois for 20yrs now, im not kidding. Still works like the day I got it. If it dries out just soak it in a bucket of water overnight and its back to new. If i think its dirty ill just put it in the washing machine with my microfiber mitt and towels, obviously dont put it in the dryer after. Ive tried microfiber towels but they usually require me to wipe down the car multipe times where the chamois will completely dry in one pass. I have been using the Turtle Wax Seal N Shine and drying off the car goes very quickly.

You need a better microfiber towel designed for drying they are far superior to chamois

Dude, why are you still clinging on to an ancient relic for drying your car. Get a twisted loop MF towel and watch it change your life

@@brokenSnake As someone who has all types of MF drying towels, a buffed natural leather chamois is superior.
      1. Better for paint. (Chamois picks up dirt just like MF, but it releases it easier)
      2. Lasts way longer
      3. It acts as a mini clay bar

I Agree Timb, i have had chamois leathers last for around the same time, from my early car days i have washed my chamois in a bucket with warm water with a few drops of my Mequiar's car wash, i does help them, then drape them over a towel rail in the garage 👍 Au

I always use my chamois towel. I have had it for over 20 years and still going. I wash it when need it using a bit of dishwasher soap in water basically to remove any oils and silicone and of course, dirt. I have microfiber towels for other purposes, mostly to use them to clean up when polishing. It is extremely cheaper to have a chamois towel. No need to use a washer machine (that you cannot wash with regular clothes if you use special soaps and softener as those are bad for the towel). I had an older chamois towel, it is about 30 years old, and it is still in use at my parents house. Might not look new, but still works perfectly fine. I am old school when it comes to drying my car. and it works a million times better than any new technology micro fiber blah blah. My chamois towel has dried multiple Lexus vehicles I have had and now is taking care of my Tesla. And a trick that many don't know: you can use a chamois towel to also clean the windows inside the vehicle. It leaves no marks. I do that after drying the outside. Just rinse it, and clean the windows inside. Then I wash it with the dishwasher soap and is ready for the next job. Cheers

I am a fastidious car owner of over 50 yrs now, i use a synthetic towel to remove the excess water, then use a quality Chamois leather to dry my car completly. Nothing beats a Chamois Leather for that final sheen... BTW i do like my Meguiar's car wash and Deep Crystal Carnauba Wax polish 👍 Au

I recommend chemical guys hyperwax. It adds an si02 layer that lasts for months which protects the paint from uv rays, and also beads up water.

Nothing beats leather in terms of how many microscratches it's gonna put on your clear coat over time either.

That's because you need a separate microfiber with QD for a final buff.

First off it's pronounced shamee not shamwa. Second, a good chamois is WAY more absorbent and any micro and better at removing water especially on glass. The more you use a chamois the better they get. You have to thoroughly wet the chamois before using then wring out as hard as you can. And there's always one side of the chamois that's more absorbent. Microfiber work fair on body panels but suck on glass.

I used to use chamois until I purchased the towels and loved them, I only needed 2 medium sized towels to do my whole SUV and with a lot less pressure on the surface. It was more efficient in terms of time taken before it starts drying and was able to get into the gap areas where a chamois normally misses..
But what comes from saved time is a few xtra steps in cleaning the towel and drying it.
