You can do this girl! Stop going out for one month, make it a challenge, and you’ll be amazed by how much you save. Consider hosting your friends and cooking together or doing picnics with food from home, or something like that. If you’re a drinker, consider not drinking alcohol when going out and you’ll save some money too. Also, you need to make sure you’re making progress on that debt, paying the minimums is not the way to do it.

I want to see you get out of debt.
How much of your last two paychecks did you put towards debt?
And, how much did your total debt decrease by?
Hypothetically, you’re spending $2800 a month on your debt but your debt is only decreasing by $12 a month…………………if that’s close to true, then you’d be out of debt in 1,562 years………………….
This is why it feels like the plan needs an update. 😬

      Thank you!
This video was a one off because of the additional charges I received. Some of those extra charges were removed and that will be updated at the October Wrap Up. Also, I have to take into consideration the interest rates that are added on as each month carries over a balance.

Definitely next time write down your denominations and what it should total to next time you go in. I just go in and say “I need to withdrawal cash, here’s the denominations I need” and hand them the slip. It’s a very easy process that way!

You can do it and no one said you’re not going to have ruff days. It gets easier. I’ve been doing this for over 5 years and I still have ruff times lol. Just keep doing what you’re doing and try to follow someone who been where you are now. 😊

New to your channel- some suggestions if u don’t mind- write down the amounts you want on paper if you don’t have a teller slip- also you have a LOT of unnecessary envelopes or should I say duplicates eg- beauty can include nails hair make up etc. you may need to put yourself on a cash only for eating out or limit yourself to once a month 187$ is a grocery bill😮😮😮. I know you have a high income but if you’re serious about getting out of debt u gotta get rid of somethings you’re spending on😳😳😳😳! I really wish you the BEST but you really gotta buckle down. For the ppl that don’t want to pay their part too bad I wouldn’t - you have to set boundaries or you’re in trouble!

Perhaps instead of having both a "going out" and an "eating out" envelope you combine it into one envelope; STOP using debit cards to cover what you don't have in cash and challenge yourself to have a "no spend" week.
Just tell your friends that you can't afford to go out everyday, weekend and weeknight. But, you know your life and what your goals are better than anyone else; so gifure out what your "why" and then get serious about your goal.
If at the end of the day, you still dont have yhe funds to cover ALL your envelopes, then make it simpler.
Luving rhe champagne lifestyle is great, but not when you have a beer budget. You're defeating the purpose when you kepp borrowing from one envelope to cover another because you "over spend."
We all want to see you succeed, but you keep creating obstacles that sabotage your way out.
Get serious, and set realistic goals.

$600 a month on going out and all is just not a smart financial move. I used to go out and party with friends too until I realized what a stupid waste of money it was. I used to spend way too much money on makeup and clothes and whatever but it’s just not worth it. The goals you want for yourself and your life should take a higher priority than putting yourself in debt for a good time. When you are “used to” a certain lifestyle it’s a weird adjustment to cut back but being an adult with responsibility means not making teenage decisions or expecting oh it’ll just work out somehow. You have to REALLY be hard on yourself if you ever want to see progress.

I've taken most of these comments into consideration and have made some changes. I think as soon as I realized what was happening, I felt gross by splurging when I shouldn't.
Not having my debit card is new, so I will have to leave that bad boy at home and when my cash is all gone, it's gone! Thanks for this!

Your income is so high. If your friends make more average income, I’m sure they would appreciate at least trying group activities that cost less.

A helpful tip, do not be on the phone with anyone while doing transactions if you have specific requests of the worker. Workers will tune you out so they aren't being accused of eavesdropping on your conversation and will miss requests. Also, increase the amount you pay on any bill that you see are not going down (try reducing things like eating out, even if it's only by $25). Congratulations on paying off the Amazon card! Keep it up!

When I go to get cash out at the bank, I have a slip prepared with the breakdown of each denomination I need and the dollar total of each denomination. That way I can stuff exactly what I need.

  • @rickismith1259

You can absolutely be that person. Its your money so you get the bills how you like them. Determine your amounts before going to make it easier on yourself. When on a debt free journey be mindful when going out with friends. True friends will cover what they own and not expect others to pick up the slack. You have to be comfortable with saying I don't have it or have extra. Cutting back temporarily is the way to go. Going out and eating out could be one category. You have such a great plan just stick with it.

Could you eliminate the AAA bill if your car insurance provides duplicate coverage? That would save you $80 if you have towing and roadside assistance on your insurance.

Start doing a denomination page so you know exactly what denominations you want in your categories then when you go to the bank write on a post it not or a piece of paper and make your own teller slip I literally made my own on excel and I print them out and the bank ladies love them!

The start of this journey can be so difficult! Always keep in mind the gift you are giving yourself - financial freedom! It's worth the struggle. And tears will come. But so will success. You will grow a community that sill help you! Also, in some videos you talked about a car wash envelope. Can you put that money in your "other" envelope?

When I used to do cash stuffing, I would go to the teller and say I needed to take out cash in specific denominations right away. And then I would say that I and a post it if that helps and they always said yes and took the post it. It kind of sounds like by you trying to be easy you might have phrased it more confusing for a teller so maybe try it the way I used to?

I’m just shocked on $200 for eating out. That’s almost my whole month grocery bill, which includes eating out sometimes.
Not saying you have to come down to where I’m at, but do you really want to get out of debt or do you want to continue being a slave to the lender?
I hope the best for you.

This $900 plus that your putting aside to ear out and miscellaneous, you could have your next cc paid completely with 2/3 of those. This extra cash should be going to your credit cards and loans. The ones with the most interest first

My budget book is one I made. I hole punched some graph sheets after cutting them to size and reused an old coil and Erin Condren planner cover. I have not found a planner that I absolutely love, so for now, I'm using excel and this as a makeshift bullet journal.
Also, moving forward, I will be using the withdrawal slip as my teller slip! Thanks!
