GFL Environmental: Ford F550/ Pac-Mac RL 8

- I was lucky enough to see two of GFL's mini "Pac-Man" trucks, one finishing up a recycle route in Garden City, and the other working on a missed block. Despite the high price tag and streamlined appearance, these units run almost painfully slow at idle. it took a few times drivingvone of these units myself before I found the nifty "high idle" feature that gives the packer a little punch and the engine a loud whine. Nonetheless, these are some nice little trucks, and a nice change from seeing nothing smaller than a 25 yard full size rear loader on these routes.

Great video! This is a very neat combo. The Ford was an interesting choice. Little rear loaders are always entertaining. That crushing was entertaining as well. Nice one!
That's another one of the joys of bouncing around different trucks, most of which are cobbled together all half ass. The work around isn't terrible though. Scott recently reminded me how leaving the truck screaming the entire time you're at a stop has its own old school appeal. They went with the Barker tipper which is nice, and overall this is way better than a mini MSL.
I'm running one of these full time now. It very quickly lost it's appeal when I got switched to a mini full time, but I enjoyed hopping in one if these or a stake truck to do a few special runs after school or after my route. But overall, these are really nifty units. And the Fords are really nice.
