Good. We need public transport
20 yrs late
Better late than never
@@simonstevenson6686 I hope it gets built. The L.A. to San Francisco train set was never finished.
Seems like an East Coast high-speed rail from Washington to New York would be a better investment.
nah haha
We already have it. No one uses it. This is America. It doesn't make sense to take a train to some place. You're also going to need a car. Stop living in suburbs, move into a dense Urban environment and then we can talk.
What happens in Washington DC doesn't stay in DC. It becomes breaking news on NBC. 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
@bradfordjhart Tf u on about the north east corridor is exstremely busy and has magor ridership. Also all your critiques can apply it planes anyway and those go fine
Both? both.
Thank you, President Biden! Vote Blue 💙
U know having the actual people who do the work woud be a better photo
Well, the LA to San Francisco line is doing so well right now 🙄
yea, you so right after spend people tax money 30 billion + and can not tell when the project will end.
I was thinking the same thing, how is the California high speed rail going pot hole Pete, maybe it is being held up because the high speed rail is racist.
You get sleeper train for dreams tar or something...
Public vs Private, Us should privatize this industry with subsidies and basically build routes like military contracts. So reward companies, but have us government support
@codymifsud2448 Anything the government is involved in knowadays is a failure. Oh the government loves subsidies because they can launder money to their buddies.
And then in 11 years after many stalls on the project, when it finally encroaches on some random town you’ve never heard of that doesn’t want the rail to go by, it’ll come crashing down and go abandoned.
I like trains!
Thought Amtrak was our National Passenger Railroad? I mean...like...Amtrak once ran on these tracks? Did the track owner run Amtrak off only to allow "private" investment to finally...finally....finally build this service. Oh ...and what about the $66 Billion given to Amtrak to start up such services? And what about the east coast Amtrain that operates from New York City to Savannah, Ga then sits there for like the night(could then go to middle Georgia and Atlanta/Nashville/Cincinnati) then turns around to return north? Terribly inefficient...and a waste of the $66 billion tax dollars!....just sayin'.....What say you USDoT/Secy. Buttigudje?
If you want to talk about ownership: What about the citizens who *#Originally* held the land?
In 1995, I rode an Amtrak train from Fullerton, California to Las Vegas. Santa Fe (now B.N.S.F.) owned the tracks from Los Angeles to Fullerton to Barstow, California. Union Pacific owns the tracks from Barstow to Las Vegas. When Union Pacific was tired of Amtrak being on its track in the late 1990's, Union Pacific pushed the track rental fees so high, that Amtrak saw it was impractical to provide passenger train service to Las Vegas.
@@MrJuvefrank There has been a regulatory mechanism in place, to "protect the public's interests" in such matters for well over 100 years( Google I.C.C./U.S.Surface Transportation Board ) and despite facts of Joseph Biden having been a "friend" of passenger rail/Amtrak during his 40-50 years in D.C....and that Union Pacific having received well over a $billion( yes that's a b not an m) for operation of Amtrak services over it's rail routes between the Midwest and West coast...this proposal is just as in my original post...questionable...at best!?
I was unaware Rancho Cucamonga is going to be hosting the Olympics.
Disc golf olympics
0:06 ...and just like the announcement, there will be loads of problems and overruns... 🤷♀️
SF-LA HSR delayed since 2008 16 years, let hope this LV-LA HSR don't break this delay record omg
Seriously? High speed Rail is "behind the times?" Well another way to become like "other" countries instead of like our own country.
Who benefits from this - Las Vegas and who else? No one - once the Olympics are done.
I hope they have a long term plan for this railway.
Been in the works for over 45 years because it is and always will be doomed to failure, hopefully the taxpayers are not fronting the bill which will only fill the pockets of the people involved.
How about we help the people first!
It’s too expensive to live last 3 years!
Will it be safe?
Yes
Infinitely safer than cars
You pay $400 , safer than metrolink
I bet railroad inspectors will make sure it meets standards.
This is going to be rich...
Or expensive; take yer pick... 🙂
Is that Buutyjuice?
Sooooo B.S. ... union ... green ... yeah they nailed it 😁
How to lose the Barstow vote 101
And I will say again, what the heck do we need a high speed rail from l.a. to Vegas for?!?! Who is funding this?! It’s only a 2.5 - 3 hour drive away and after the ‘Olympics’, who’s going to be riding this? More or better water management (reservoirs - got lucky the past two years with rains and snow pack, but just a couple of years ago, we were talking about water rationing!), build smaller nuclear power plants (down to one plant now; if it’s gets too hot, they might cut power because the current grid can’t support too many a/c units), and build housing!!! You know, stuff we truly need in California and will also create and provide plenty of jobs…. ‼️👎🏾👎🏾🤔🤨
You do realise that the hole point is to reduce car journeys and create more jobs
Clears up congestion on the freeway.
Gotta add this to my list of STUPID HUMAN TRICKS.
A rail to the desert and an unsustainable city. Insane.
America hasn't led the way for 100 years.
