    I will admit, I was not interested in Infinity until I saw some sort of techno-knight in the thumbnail. Learning of PanOceania, and that my home country, the Philippines, is part of this faction has got me interested.

    A brief breakdown of Panoceania from the perspective of a Pan-O main.
    Pros:
    A good entry point for new players learning to play the game.
    A wide selection of troops ranging from lightly armed and armored fusiliers to the power armored might of the knights of the military orders.
    The overall highest ranged combat stats in the game.
    Access to some of the best tactical armored gears(TAG's) in the game with the option of taking some TAG models as the lieutenant of your battle group.
    Access to a wide selection of offensive, defensive,technical and tactical loadouts for your troops.
    Cons:
    Average willpower,objectives requiring a successful willpower check to accomplish has a tendency to be the bane of Pan-O battle groups.
    Susceptible to anti tech countermeasures and hacking.
    Having the most advanced toys comes with a downside.
    If you run a Pan-O list centered around power armored infantry and/or TAG's enemy hackers and infantry with electro magnetic pulse weaponry or adhesive launchers should be high on the target priority list.
    It's costly to be on the top. If you try to get as many cool and shiny units into a single battle group you should prepare to find yourself outnumbered by the enemy quite often.

      My favorite Orc Trooper they ever made though, is still the Orc Trooper that was in the Operation Ice Storm Box.

    Great vid, I'd have to say my favorite PanO model is the Knight of Justice, it looks slick and dynamic in its posing.

    Really enjoy listening to your lore in all of these games. Are you playing infinity? If not, go for it! It is a great system. I get beaten frequently but love its tight rules and complexity.

    I haven't picked up any Infinity models, but PanO's Military Orders seem like my kinda models. You have Jeanne d'Arc in your wargame and I'm sold.

    As an Australian, there's a weird patriotism that comes knowing of PanOs prominence, although Yu-Jing is just too sexy model-wise. I really wish that Croc Men were Aboriginals instead of Maori - there aren't even crocodiles in New Zealand! Favourite PanO models are the Cutter TAG, Father Knight, and ORCs

    I find Pan-O's lore difficult to take seriously. It's just so unrealistic if you consider the economies and politics of the various member countries today:
    - Australia (where I'm from) and NZ are first-world countries in terms of living standards, but there's very little public or private investment in science and technology.
    - Corruption and inequality is rife in Brazil and India.
    - Replacing political parties with lobby groups would change nothing because political parties are beholden to lobby groups to begin with.
    - Most citizens of the wealthier countries would balk at the idea of joining a union if it means spending resources to help less well-off countries.
    The idea that these countries could ban together and rise to the top of a new world order is just too unbelievable.

    • @Rob749s
      @Rob749s 4 года назад +7

      1) Investment levels could easily change in the next 30 years
      2) Brazil and India have about 50 years to figure out their corruption
      3) Sure, but that's just as much simple faction flavour than anything - also the lobbies work more like a corporate executive with all citizens being shareholders
      4) They banded together so as to not be absorbed into "China". Australia's history is almost defined by being anti-Chinese. As an Australian I'm all in favour of helping out regional allies.
      Have you heard of the BRICS nations? 2 of the fastest growing economies of today joining PanO, as well as buying the debts of 2 of the 3 largest economies today. A lot can change in a hundred years.

    Hey Doug, if you want a MUCH more in-depth look at the lore, the RPG books by Modiphius are the way to go. Particularly for PanO. It will take you through all of the different planets and even cities.

    Is there a wolrd map of the Earth of INfinity?
    For example a map of all the Nations in Pan Oceania?

    • @SirAthanasius
      @SirAthanasius 4 года назад

      There is no map, unfortunately. It is not 100% confirmed which exact countries are part of the factions, though we do know for Panoceania that is most oceanic countries, south America, India, EU and some african countries. There are a lot of unaffiliated countries too.

      @tanakoskyler-thetabletopsh377 4 года назад +1

      For PanO's Nations? Not really.
      There is a map in a few of the books which is the planets of the human sphere, but it reads like a train map (which makes sense given how space travel between plants is like a train network called the Circular). Though the planets have their own geographic maps as well.

    Awesome, only just found out about Infinity.
    What I can't find out though, maybe due to lack of physical and certainly online Lore, is what these soldiers in their armour can do? What can their swords do in the lore? What are they made of? What are the capabilities of the Knights etc. I can't find anything about that, anywhere.
    E.g. if I were to look at WH40K, I can find some very informative stuff about the Astartes (Space Marines), what their abilities are, what their weapons can do, materials used etc.
    There's none of that which I can find for the Military Orders of PanO though 😔. The idea behind all of this looks absolutely incredible and the art is just amazing!
    Christian Crusading Space Knights (!!) Who *doesn't* think that's not awesome to look at and tell stories about?! 😎🛡️🗡️

  • @Flamesofthunder

    In my opinion the universe of infinity isn't really a dystopian future compared to other settings. The citizens of PanO, Yu-jing and other nations actually have it pretty good. Heck Ariadna has modern day tech so they're lives aren't far off modern Russia. Saying that keep up the good videos about infinity !

      Yeah! The Vatican is a part of Pan Oceana and a quite influential one at that.
      In the Infinity universe there's a special procedure that allows you to make what's essentially a backup copy of your consciousness which is then recorded onto a cube shaped implant in the back of your head. When a cubed individual dies the cube is recovered and the recorded consciousness is imparted onto a new body.
      In pan Oceana the Vatican oversees the distribution of cubes and related materials. One of the reasons why the knightly orders of Pan-O has no shortage of recruits is the fact that service with the military orders almost always guarantees advancement in the waiting lists for the cube surgery.
      Many who join the orders do it because of the opportunity to get a cube implant with less hurdles than out of religious conviction.
      But of course true believers still exist.
