Run 3 (4:53) I would have gone into the pack with topspinn since you had the 6-ball as a guarantee. Always nice to open up the pack early if you have a guarantee ball. I think you play really well and make a lot of good shots. If you would solve the problems earlier and break up the pack sooner I think you runs will increase drastically! Also try practicing different break shots before you start doing runs. Good luck in the tournament! 💪🏻
After watching you, these what I think may improve your game: Don't avoid harder shots if it will provide you better positioning and alternatives for your next shot. If you know that's a hard shot for you and you miss then practice that shot. Don't leave it hanging. Always review your position every after shot. Check if there are better options ALWAYS than what you actually plan before. That will only take 3-10 seconds of your time. Remember this is straight pool not 9 or 10 ball. So you always have alternatives. Don't reset the rack when you miss. This is practice. Instead, try to repeat the shot you miss as close as possible and still try to run out the rack. Remember this is practice. If your not happy with your next shot or you know you didn't do a good shot from your previous, repeat that shot until you're satisfied. Don't burden yourself running out the racks immediately. Aim to break out the racks/clusters as early as possible. Don't have a mind set being defensive. Straight pool is a highly offensive game. Your aim is to keep your opponent on his chair. Don't think "what if I miss". Many amateurs have that kind of thinking in straight pool. Consider doing banks and caroms for better positioning. I didn't see you attempt any of these. Well that's all the points I can give you.
I know this one year later, but check out Mike Sigels perfect pool, if you haven’t already done so. He demonstrates what english to use for breaking the rack in different situations. And the break IS the most important shot in straight pool.
Stop shot at the end of the first rack would give you position to go with topspin on the break ball. Although it’s harder to pot the ball I find that it’s often worth it since you can open up the patch much easier!
appreciate to see, you are patient and you play clean. .my vision, you eat one by one with a constant ABC ball position or you look for a better explosion on keyball and evry cluster you find in the first rack part.. these 2 mode of potting are complementary and we are looking for the best balance for a uselss reading and smarter distance. actually what is your best run out on straight pool with keyball on start? Don't worry about your tournament, it will be good ;)
Okay, so you would break up clusters with more force? Oh, I think my personal best is 3 complete racks, thats 43, isn't it? 😅 It's a long time ago, I recentlt reurned to pool from a 3 year break. Thanks for the feedback, btw!

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll check it out!

nice edit, thank you!

I think you'll benefit from practicing ball pocketing to the side pockets. 3 of your runs ended with side pocket misses.
Yeah, you're probably right! Thanks!
