Apparently, the white venom 9.6 was bumped to a 9.8. There are currently 2 9.8s on the census. I will DM you a screenshot on Instagram. And those are the only two on the census. So additionally, I would assume that whoever bumped the book also submitted the certification to get wiped.
Thank you for using "behooves" in the absolute proper context. Love this vid, it's the best spiral of comic OCD, lol. I have to wonder on those Venom's, you mentioned some have had kind of remainders of foil. I might have to see how difficult it is "lift" the foil. I'd hate to see someone buy a effed up press job thinking it was a variant.
Given the fact that modern error variants fetch some coin, you would think workers at the printing press would just constantly make "mistakes" on purpose and sell them on the secondary market? 🙄
Exactly at some point. I don't know when exactly, but maybe mtg or pokenmon or marvel dc. Workers must have come up with intentional insider jobs or part of marketing but still kept raw mint copies. I know artist must get gifted prints fresh of the press and they must keep their copies and do etc
I know someone who works in the printing industry and it’s very restrictive when it comes to items leaving the building. Everything “error” gets shredded and I believe all the “garbage” is locked. So errors are very rare in that case.
Thanks for the heads up about the ghost numbers. I was scared to send in the label with my cpr candidate because I thought it would get the same grade. I’ll send them back to cgc now lol
I’m curious about your opinion on store variants. I know you’ve done some. Good investments or just a cool thing for collectors or both? Great video again.
i had the chance to get that black venom variant, shoulda in hindsight… and as a yearly sdcc participant, i’m NEVER going to pass up those marvel comic panels again (forget hall h)!!
Bry, if you look up Venom Lethal Protector 1 just in the regular Census link off the main CGC site you’ll pull up all the different variants of that comic. At the bottom is the White cover error. It shows 2 copies. Both are 9.8. So, looks like someone bought that 9.6, pulled it out & resubmitted and got the 9.8. Hope this helps mate.
I think some of the foreign variants people ride off as reprints (many times are not and printed at the same time) are the next “newsstand”. Books like l’incroyible hulk, French Canadian ed (basically hulk 180) are sleepers
Thanks for the video. I always learn something from your videos. Here's the choice: pay several thousand dollars for something that is only a few years old and is only valuable because it's rare or pay several thousand dollars for something that is older and has genuine historical value: Giant-Size X-Men #1 for example. There's simply no question which I would choose.
I’ll definitely stay around or try to get these comic con books now. The one in Nov, if you pay the VIP price you get a free book. I believe I’ll buy that…just incase.
There was another gimmick error cover that I recently became aware of. It was on the original run of the Avengers in the 1990's and it was supposed to be a copper embossed foil of the Vision. The error is where the foil was silver instead of copper and I saw some crazy prices being asked for that book. The funny thing is that I swore that silver foil was the normal one, I could be misremembering it though.
You could do a few episodes on con give-aways. As an avid SDCC attendee, my friends, that I would go with, would give me their door books believing they were taking space. I don't feel guilty at all for having a few SDCC #2's.

Love the Campbell variant but way too much $$$ for it. Great picks and video man. Keep killing it!!
Need to find me some more rare books!
That white Venom variant is pretty dope.
I really like the white Venom cover. I never knew about it either.
Wow, I didn't know the white Venom cover was that rare. I've actually been looking for it for a while.
Given the fact that modern error variants fetch some coin, you would think workers at the printing press would just constantly make "mistakes" on purpose and sell them on the secondary market? 🙄

I like how you always throwing out the info to us. Helps us know more bout what we might have. Ima win these slabs one of these days
I'd hate to think that the J. Scott Campbell fell in price due to Shuri in the movie. She's one of the most enjoyable characters.
nice picks
That error white Venom cover is fire!!!
Bry's Comic vid on Monday, yes pls .
👏
good stuff!
I picked up a couple of comics on that recalled list, but they're less popular and from the 90's
books with an added story like that are so cool
I know rarity plays an important role in the value of comics but this is substantial.
Rare = valuable. Cool to see some books that I had no idea were out there.
Campbell cover is fire.
Cool books. I had one heard of the white Venom.
The Black Panther I had no idea that is was so rare valuable and the Wolverine I’d never even heard of until this video haha
this video on rare comics was great, would be awesome to know what other rare comics are out there!
The store incentive stuff is so interesting to rabbit hole. "Send us unsold stuff from the other guys", "buy 5000" lol Wild West.
J. Scott Campbell variants tend to resell better than others. Same for Alex Ross and Adam Hughes variants.
I would love to see any of these in person.
That Venom is cool. I have never seen the white one.
Thanks again
Those are really cool books
I love variants. A lot of times the artwork is a lot better than the original cover. Or the virgin variant graded is great artwork on the wall.
Kid Cudi’s - Mr. Rager comic from Dark Horse
Recently grabbed the Deadpool/Vanilla Ice hip hop variant. Don't know if it's rare or not, but wasn't an easy one to find. Thx Bry
Those rare venoms are amazing
Love Campbell covers! I just wish some of them weren't so expensive.
His Deadpool #1 and Xmen #510 are crazy expensive!
Awesome!!! 👍
The white venom cover. It’s pretty cool, but I wonder if people found a process to remove the foil.
I’ve been on the hunt for that white error lethal protector for a while now. Maybe one day
I'd love to own that venom error!
Crazy i would have never known!
I’m curious about your opinion on store variants. I know you’ve done some. Good investments or just a cool thing for collectors or both? Great video again.
That Venom!!
I’ve seen a white Venom 1 one time. I had a chance to get it for a couple hundo buuut passed 😅
😫
i had the chance to get that black venom variant, shoulda in hindsight… and as a yearly sdcc participant, i’m NEVER going to pass up those marvel comic panels again (forget hall h)!!
This is what makes collecting fun-the potential of a buried treasure out there!!

I have a particular Spider-Gwen with a dark background that's pretty rare... Two of them now that I think about it 😅
Look up Frank Teran. He did Punisher 94, 95 and 97-102. The dude is a Ghost.
I think some of the foreign variants people ride off as reprints (many times are not and printed at the same time) are the next “newsstand”. Books like l’incroyible hulk, French Canadian ed (basically hulk 180) are sleepers
I have a Russian Hulk 181...pretty freaking cool book

I don't have any of these. Thanks for the info.
And here I am buying comics from the dollar bins lol
That white Venom looks really nice.
I should probably take more care of the free comics I get from conventions lol
Venom white cover lost its symbiote. lol
They never seem to give out any exclusive print books at the comic expos I've been too.. drat! :)
Dope books.
Had no idea there was a white variant of Venom. I just finally got the Gold, don't think I'll be able to find a black let alone a white :O
Campbell is one of my absolute Fave artists
Love seeing the rare
Those are some rare books - never seen them in person

I have a megacon panel wolverine partial color give away comic im going to get it graded and store it away lol thanks bry
I have the xmen 5 error print
I had no idea they would make a 1:4999 incentive variant. That makes it unaffordable for 90% of the collectors
Nice books.:)
I never even heard of those books cool

😂
I got a givaway White Boba Fett Lego minifigure at the Star Wars Celebration one year. I wish I had kept it.
Nice
I got the black venom comic, how much should I sell it for?
