Ingredients: For the base: 2 8oz cans of Crescent Rolls 2 8oz Bricks of Cream Cheese, softened at room temperature 1/2 cup of Sour Cream 1 cup of Granulated Sugar 2 tsp of Vanilla Extract For the Topping: 1/3 cup of Granulated Sugar 1 tsp of Ground Cinnamon 1/3 cup of Unsalted Butter, melted Process, 1) Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Spray a 9x13 inch baking pan with a little non stick spray and cover the bottom of the pan with one unrolled can of crescent rolls, pinch the seams together as much as you can, set aside. 2) In a large bowl, using a handheld electric whisk, cream together the cream cheese and sugar for about 2 minutes, add the sour cream and vanilla and continue to mix it for another minute or two. 3) Spread the mixture evenly over the dough, cover with the other can of unrolled dough and set aside. 4) In a small bowl, mix together the cinnamon and sugar, sprinkle evenly over the top of the dough then drizzle the butter over that as evenly as you can. 5) Bake for about 35 to 40 minutes or until the center is fully set, allow it to cool to room temperature and then pop them in the fridge to finish cooling completely, this also makes them easier to cut. Recipe By: Laura Vitale you're welcome because I was mad about the no ingredient measuments too :)
Hey there is there another name for crescent roll as we dont have that in New Zealand please. Really wanna make them but I dont want to have the wrong pastry
When Costco stopped baking their morning bun I was so bummed. For several months I was hoping they'll bring it back again or I may lose my craving for it. When I can no longer stand it, I decided to try baking. Me and my grandson for the first time tried making the the cinnamon bun. We're so happy to learn how to do it. So proud of our accomplishment. Then my son posted a photo of sopapilla cheesecake his office mate baked. It looks so delicious. I'm so thinking i can do that to. So here I am watching your video several times trying to build up my courage to do it. I will call up my 9 year old grandson on the weekend so we can do this. Thank you for this video.
I made these and....OMG!! Can I just say, they are one of the most amazing desserts I have ever had! Totally foolproof, my friends and family went wild for them. I really can't wait to make them again, the only problem is that I will eat them all and I'm supposed to be getting in shape for summer! LOL. They look really rich, but are surprisingly light and not too sweet. Highly recommend : )
I make your Sopapilla Cheesecake Bars today. They came out very well. My family ate half the recipe in one sitting. I think next time I am going to drizzle a little caramel across the top after baking with the cinnamon and sugar. Thanks for a winning family recipe!
Laura always says that her recipes are her version and she doesn't claim them to be authentic unless they actually are. If people have an issue, then make your own channel and do it better. They look fabulous IMO and I for one never complain when someone else is doing all the work.
Made these today, I couldn't wait for them to chill I ate them while they were still warm and they were awesome. Now I can chill the rest and see how much better they become!!! Thank you for sharing this recipe
OMG Laura, since watching this video, I have made these several times. They were SO good, I am now making other versions. The flavour of these is reminiscent of lemon so I am now adding lemon zest/juice to them. I JUST made another batch that I am going to add some cherry pie filling to the top of, to give it yet another twist. I am thinking blueberries would be better (than cherries) as cinnamon brings out the flavour in them but I am out at the moment. Thanks for sharing your amazing recipes!
Having made this recipe many times, I find that Unsalted Butter works best. There's already sodium content in the Crescent Rolls, so it really helps cut down on the salt. Plus, it tastes delicious!
I’ve never tried these with the added sour cream, but even without they are the absolute best dessert or sweet breakfast treat. They are my go-to for potlucks or family get togethers. Everyone goes crazy for them. Try to find Saigon cinnamon for this recipe. Saigon cinnamon makes this already 10/10 into an 11/10! Best tasting served cold the next day!
just made this yesterday and my boyfriend and I loves it. it is really simple to make and creamy inside crispy outside, but next time i think i gonna reduce the sugar amount. i usually don't like desert being too sweet , but i can't help it to eat this cheesecake bar, it just taste so good and it go will with a cup of tea.
Hi Laura, tried these for Thanksgiving and they were a big hit! Thinking of skipping the Italian cookie baking this Christmas and just giving these. Save my hands and time too! Thank you for the awesome video and great recipe. Have a lovely holiday season and best wishes from California...truly fran
sopapillas, sopaipillas, or sopapaillos I've never had any so I don't care what you're going to call it. Laura's sopapilla cheesecake bars are on my to do list 😍
Good Night Laura My name is Cleopatra Dickenson I from Grand Turk the capital in the Turks and Caicos Islands. I love recipe I tried the Banana Foster Upside Down Cake. It was lovely my family love it. I made it yesterday it finish the same day
you look so beautiful! i love watching you blooming. take care and enjoy every moment and movement of your little one. i love your videos, i think ive watched them all and look forward to many more.
Hint: put another (thin) layer of fruit preserves (loosened a bit by stirring it rapidly beforehand) on top of the cream cheese mixture (or just swirl it into the cream cheese filling before spreading the whole mixture onto the dough). Or, if you're so inclined, how about swirling in some prepared chocolate ganache into the filling?
It's just that sopaipillas are a cultural, traditional dish for some. Imagine somebody telling you they have a Mac&Cheese recipe only for you to find out it's noodles. Changes things up, huh?
I just made it last weekend. It is sooo good. Great to share with family and friends. But I was home alone for a week so I ate it all...good but that was a lot😂
If we don't have crescent dough, would it be better to use puff pastry or pie crust pastry ? Pie crust has yeast in it like crescent dough but puff pastry is sweeter I think though it is "heavier".. might be too much fat ?
Ingredients:
For the base:
2 8oz cans of Crescent Rolls
2 8oz Bricks of Cream Cheese, softened at room temperature
1/2 cup of Sour Cream
1 cup of Granulated Sugar
2 tsp of Vanilla Extract
For the Topping:
1/3 cup of Granulated Sugar
1 tsp of Ground Cinnamon
1/3 cup of Unsalted Butter, melted
Process,
1) Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.

You are going to be such a great mommy!!!!!!! They don't come with instructions, you learn as they grow.

Made this for the Christmas holidays & a total big hit! One thing I did different was, I folded in caramel into the cream cheese ... SO GOOD!!!
I work for Pillsbury, we make a crescent recipe roll. Same as crescent roll dough but not perforated. Makes recipes like this so much easier.
Made these today, I couldn't wait for them to chill I ate them while they were still warm and they were awesome. Now I can chill the rest and see how much better they become!!! Thank you for sharing this recipe

Yea first time i made this, i used salted butter and it was way too salty on the top! Learned my lesson 😭
Omg! They made these at work a couple months back, but with puff pastry dough.. omg..one of the best desserts I've ever had!
